Tell Me What
You Think
Chapter 1
I walked into the big double doors of
Englewood High School. Not knowing what to expect in this building
people call living hell. I tilt my head down so my hair is covering
my face, not allowing anyone to see me. I stick in my ear buds and
pull up my hood. I didn’t always have to be like this, not
until last spring break. Before that I lived in Atlanta, Georgia. I
was the most popular girl in school, with the perfect sun kissed
blonde hair and brilliant deep blue eyes. I had tons of
“friends” if you know what I mean, but my real best
friend was Alicia Quoin. And my boyfriend was the star quarterback
of the football team. I had the life everyone wanted. I had the
most perfect life with the most perfect boyfriend, as most people
saw it. But it wasn’t as cracked up as my school peers
thought it was. One night I was over Alicia’s house. And we
decided to sneak out and go to a party. But you see Alicia
isn’t the type to break the rules. And here’s where my
story begins…
“What street do I turn on?”
Alicia shouted over the music blazing out of the speakers of the
car.
“Um, turn left on Willow,” I say
as Alicia is singing at the top of her lungs. After about 10
minutes of driving, I realize that we missed the turn. I look over
to Alicia, with the biggest smile on her face but I could tell that
something was bothering her. “Alicia, is something
wrong?” I say as I turn the music down. I watch her as she
grips the stirring wheel tighter. Then she turns to
me.
“Rose, I don’t think that we
should do this. I have a bad feeli……,” she
suddenly turns forward and so do I, and all I see is bright
lights….

I
lay there in the wreaked car, motionless. I look up and see Alicia,
who is walking away. “Alicia, wait don’t leave without
me!” but she didn’t listen, she just walked away into a
big stairwell in the middle of nowhere. And then…
she’s gone. And then I’m left there all by
myself.
After about 5 minutes of thinking, I got it.
I look over. Alicia’s Body is right there next to me, covered
in blood. She’s moved on, crossed over, and left me behind to
suffer in pain.
As
soon as I’m about to go unconscious, I’m lifted from
the wreaked car. I look up and see the most beautiful eyes
I’ve ever seen, piercing, gallant green eyes. Then I can feel
the pain getting to me, I was sure I had some broken bones. His
lips were moving toward my neck. Then like the snap of a finger,
I’m out cold.
And my story still goes on. That exact same
night my older brother died in a house fire, and as for my parents,
they passed away a few years before. So now I’m living in
Jacksonville, Florida in a foster home. I have no more family to go
to. Sad, right? Well don’t worry… it gets
worse.
