Just Once More


The sadness, the emptiness, it's just too much
So once again it's the blade she'll clutch
It calls to her from its hiding place
And a hint of relief settles n her face
So after months of telling herself she wouldn't
She gives into the steel, although she shouldn't
Just one last time to ease the pain in her heart
One last time to keep herself from falling apart
Again and again she slices through
Just Once More simply won't do..

My cage door opens as I hear my call.

We growl and snap; arousing the crowd

The drunks are excited, this place is so loud..

Bets are placed, and my instincts kick in

I'm the best here; destined to win.

As I rip off his ear what do I spy?

Behind his snarls, there is fear in his eyes.

He's almost a pup; he should know that he'll lose

Something's wrong here! This isn't the life that I choose!

So I lunge at his throat, because a short death will ensue

In the life that I live, that's the best I can do.

His last dying whimper is the same as all those before

How many more murders will I have to endure?

I don't wanna be a monster! Please don't blame me!

It's my master's fault! He's as cold as can be!

I could sit or fetch or roll over, I bet you I could!

All I ever needed was the love to know I should.

Soon this will be over, I'm getting old you see

In a couple of months, someone will be better then me.

So its too late for me now, but I want you to know

That it's not the dog or breed that's evil, it's the actions that they are shown.
