I sat on the grass next to
her, watching the twinkling stars that were
scattered across the
silken sky. She
turned to me, pursing
her lips before
she spoke.
"Celia, can I tell you something?" she inquired.
I nodded, tugging my brown hair to the right
side of my neck.
"I wish one thing in
life, Celia. I wish
to be remembered even after
I'm gone."
I could only look at her,
trying to
understand what my
best friend meant by that powerful
statement.
"Trust me girl," you said,
"He's not worth it." Why
couldn't I believe
her? Haley's been my
best
friend for
so long, yet I don't
believe
her advice
anymore. I
mean, Juliano has already
hurt
me a lot, I don't think I can be hurt
any more
than this.
I got up, walked fearlessly out of
my house,
and left
this town forever.
