Beautiful Nightmare
Chapter 3
Two months later.
Kacey and I were really close now, we hung out after school and
on weekends, he hadn't hurt me again since he slapped me. I
really didn't think that he would ever hurt me. I had
realized that between arguing about pointless stuff, talking all
night, seeing each other at school and laughing with him for no
reason, that I had fallen in love with him. I didn't just
love him like a friend, I loved him as more than that. He was the
only person who could make me smile just by being there, the only
problem was he was known to be a player. He'd been at school
for almost three months and already had a label, a bad one. He
sort of was a player though, he'd already had multiple
girlfriends and 'broken' girls' hearts. He was also
labeled as a jerk, mainly by all my friends. They didn't see
him like I did, he was only sweet with me, never mean, never
hurtful. Around them he was a different person though.
It was almost midnight, I got a message on facebook from Kacey.
This was nothing unusual, we usually talked all night. He would
ask me questions or ask me to tell him stories, or just talk to
me. He usually wound up telling me about his current girlfriend.
I would just sit there and die a little every time he said,
"I really like her, she makes me happy." I would say I
was happy for him but on the inside it was killing me. Everyone
thought that we were going out, even when he did have a
girlfriend. They just didn't realize that we were really
close and that I loved him but he didn't love me. He would
constantly tell me he loved me, but he didn't ever mean it.
He even told my friends that he liked me and wanted to ask me
out, but he never did. There's was always me and someone else
he liked, I was always his second choice. Of course since he was
super hot and had a killer smile he got any girl he wanted, so I
never had a chance with him.
Tonight he asked me to tell him a story. Whenever I tell him
stories it's a love story, a story about me and him. I always
try and get him to understand that I love him, but he doesn't
get it, or pretends not to anyway. I always try and think of new
ways to express that I love him, once I even straight up said it.
He didn't think of it the way I did though, he thought of it
like a brother way. I didn't think I'd ever get him to go
out with me, I'd just always be the second choice. Instead I
would just sit back and watch him go through his many
relationships and then help pick up the pieces when he was
broken.

Chapter 2
The first time Kacey hurt me, I would soon learn
it wasn't the last. Kerrie, Addison, Lola, Alex and I were
all standing in a circle in the hallway talking. It was mid May
and it was really warm out, I was wearing a tank top. Suddenly, I
felt someone hit me, HARD. It was open palmed across my bare
upper back. I turned around and there standing behind me was
Kacey, he just nodded and walked away. I turned back to my
friends and Kerrie said, "Did he just hit you?"
I nodded, "He slapped me."
Then Lola said, "Wait, turn around."
I did, then I turned back, "Is it bad?"I asked.
Nobody spoke, then Addison said, "You have a five star on
your back."
We were all quiet for a minute.
Then Alex said, "Lily, you can't be friends with that
jerk."
I looked at her, "He's my lab partner, I can't just
ignore him."
"I'm not saying you have to ignore him," Alex said,
"You just can't be friends."
I nodded, "Don't worry, I can't fogive him after
that."
Then Kerrie, always the optomistic one said, "That's
kinda harsh don't you think?"
I looked at her, "I was just starting to trust him Ker, I
thought he was a really sweet guy."
She nodded, then the bell rang and we all went our seperate
ways.
I walked into the science lab, there he is, sitting at our lab
table.
I took a deep breath then calmly walked over to my seat, without
a word.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw him looking at me, "Hey
Lilly..."
I didn't say anything, I didn't even blink.
"Hey? You okay?"
Still no answer.
"Look, if this is about earlier, I didn't mean anything
by it. I was just messing with you, I'm sorry."
I looked at him, with an intense long gaze. He thinks he can just
say sorry? I don't think so mister, you have to try harder
then that.
We took notes in science, so luckily I didn't have to talk to
him at all, but it was hard knowing he just didn't care. I
guess he did kinda care, I mean he'd basically lost his first
real friend. He knew it too, he kept apologizing over and over
again. It still wasn't enough.
Then after school he found me at my locker, he started to say he
was sorry, then he realized it wasn't worth it, he'd
screwed up.
Then I saw the hurt look in his eyes, I knew he really was sorry.
I had been giving him the silent treatment the rest of the day. I
turned to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
He turned around and said, "Lilly, I'm really, really
sorry."
"I know you are."
"Will you forgive me?" He said with hopeful eyes.
I nodded, then he pulled me in close, into a warm embrace. Then
while we were hugging I looked over his shoulder and I saw
Addison standing there. Watching us.
Beautiful Nightmare
Chapter 1
Kacey and I would occasionally see each other in
the halls, he wouldn't say anything though. If he ever
noticed me he would just give me the little nod as if to say
"sup". I would just nod back, not wanting to be the
first to start conversations. We would laugh and talk whenever we
were in class together but outside of class it was like we barely
knew each other.
One day I was hanging out with my friends and one girl, Lola
said, "Hey, hey Lilly. Isn't that the new kid?"
I turned to where she was pointing, sure enough there was
Kacey.
I turned back, "Yeah that's him."
"He's so cute." One of our other friends, Kerrie
said.
I nodded.
Kerrie said, "So have you talked to him yet?"
"Yeah," I said, "He's in one of my
classes."
"Is he nice?" Lola asked.
I shrugged, "I don't really know him that well, we just
met."
Then one of my friends Addison said, "I bet you he's a
player. A cute boy like that."
We all just looked at her, then turned back to look at him. He
was so cute.

Later that day, in class I started talking to Kacey.
"So Kacey, how do you like it here?"
He thought a moment, "It's alright. Beautiful girls but
you're the prettiest, I bet you're the nicest
too."
I just looked at him. He had to be kidding.
"I'm serious." He said.
I shook my head, "No you're not. You barely even know
me."
"I'll get to know you though, I bet you I
will."
Turns out, he was right. Our little nods in the hallway turned
into hugs and laughs, and then running off to class so we
wouldn't be late.
He was turning into one of my best guy friends, that is, until he
hurt me...the first time.

Preface
I was walking in the halls, then crash! I looked up to see who I
had run into, I didn't recognize the face. I looked up into
the face of a boy, tan skin, chocolate brown eyes, easy smile,
dark, flippy "Bieber" hair.
"Sorry shorty." He said as he walked off.
I just looked after him, mezmorized. He was gorgeous, His smile
was so gentle, the scar under his left eye made him seem a little
dangerous, and he was overall just cute. Later I found out that
he was the new kid. His name was Kacey.
*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
Later that day I realized he was in one of my classes. The
teacher asked me to show him the ropes and catch him up on what
we were doing.
He sat next to me, "Hey."
I looked at him, "Hey."
He studied me for a minute, "Aren't you the girl I
bumped into this morning?"
I nodded.
"Sorry 'bout that." He said, then he said,
"I'm Kacey."
I smiled, "I'm Lilly."
He smiled back.
This was the beginning of a great friendship, and what I would
soon call a beautiful nightmare.
Hey guys! Just to let you all know (in case you might care (you
probably won't though)) this is my true story. The two
stories I have written so far are not real, but this one is. This
is something that really happened to me, I just changed the
names. So I'm telling my real life story, please don't
hate.

Chapter 13 - Penny's POV
I looked over to where Mason sat, there he was, still staring at
me with that same intense gaze and those same chocolatey eyes. He
just sat there, staring at me, motionless. My brother woke Mason
from his trance, I turned back to Treyvon and the other
basketball players and Cheerleaders. They were talking about some
party that's happening tonight.
"Yeah, it's a Stacy's house. She's there setting
up right now." Chelsea said, with a satasfactory smile.
"Trey man!" Danny said, "Get some beer so we can
play pong!"
"Totally man!" Treyvon exclaimed while he high fived
him, then reached to put an arm around me. I flinched.
He brought his face unbearably close to mine, "What's
wrong, sweetheart? You worried about something?"
I just pushed him away. Then I turned back to Mason, my brother
was talking to him now. They kept looking over at me, I wonder
what they're talking about.
"So, P. You coming tonight?" Chelsea asked.
"I looked at her," a little dazed, "Uhh...I'll
see. I have a lot of homework tonight."
"Penny, it's a Friday night, homework can
wait."
"Yeah Penny," Jackson said, "Come have some
fun!"
Treyvon put an arm around me and said, "She'll be
there."
I looked at him with a disgusted face. I didn't like those
parties, all they did was smoke weed and drink beer. I'd
rather just curl up on the couch and watch movies with my
friends. The only problem is, my friends now just want to go to
parties and get high. That's what I miss about Maddie, she
would always watch movies with me. But, I'd rather go to
parties than watch movies, as long as it meant I kept my head
cheerleader status and my popularity, and...my
boyfriend.
I turned to Mason again, I knew I shouldn't have, but I did.
He wasn't looking at me anymore, he was still talking with
Cory.
Then Chelsea linked her arm with my and said, "Let's go
Penny."
We walked off to practice, leaving the basketball players, and my
brother and Mason in the gym.
Slipping Away
Chapter 12 - Mason's POV
The tears just kept coming. Penny and Treyvon fight at least once
a week now. No, once a week she ends up in tears because of him,
they fight almost everyday. I can't believe she still thinks
she's in love with this guy, I also don't know why he
still dates her. She's hurting inside, more than anyone can
see. I just don't know what I can do to see it.
"Hey! Hey! Mason? Mason, can you hear me?" A voice said
loud in my ear, interrupting my thoughts.
"Wh-what?" I stammered.
"Come on man," Cory said, "You've been out of
it all week, what's up with you?"
I didn't answer, I just looked over to where Penny and
Treyvon were standing. Everytime he got too lound and moved
closer to her, she flinched.
"Mason? Hellooooo?"
"Uhh...sorry."
"Dude, what's up with you?"
I just looked over at Penny, he followed my gaze.
"Is it Penny?" He asked.
I looked at him, astonished.
He nodded, "It is isn't it. You really like her,
huh?"
I just looked at him, my eyes bugging out.
"Come on, you don't think Penny didn't tell me about
you asking her out?"
I was speechless, I couldn't believe he knew.
"Man, she came home, her face tear stained I had to know
what happened. So, she told me. What you did was really sweet,
but it's not enough. If you want her, you have to show her
how much better you are. Better than Treyvon, better than any
other guy that's chasing after her."
"It's not worth it, Cory. Her heart's not in
it."
"I bet it would be, if you proved your love for
her."
"Why are you helping me with your sister? I thought you
might not want me to date her."
He looked at me, and sighed, "Look man, it would be weird
for you two to go out. Penny, well she hasn't been happy
since she started dating Treyvon. I know you would never hurt
her, I know how much better you are. She does too, she just
hasn't realized it yet. She's my baby sister, and I want
the best for her."
I nodded, then glanced back at Penny.
"What do I have to do, to win her over?" I asked,
unsure of myself.
"First, the easiest thing you can do is be her friend.
Become her boy best friend. That's the simplest thing, the
more time you spend having fun with her, the more she'll
trust you."
"Where do I start?"
"Well, everytime you see her fighting with Treyvon and she
ends up crying, give her a shoulder to cry on. Instead of telling
her she can do better, like you did last time, ask her if she
wants to talk about it. Tell her she can use you to sort out her
feelings."
"How do you know all this stuff?"
"I've lived man, I've dated multiple girls, and I
know what they want. That, and I read my sister's
journal."
