Chapter 8 (part 1)
"Anna, Anna, are you
awake", a soft voice wispered in her ear. She rolled
over and saw Luke's soft blue eyes, and messy brown hair.
His lips were formed in a slight smiled and his muscles were
prominent through the athletic nike shirt he had on.
"Good morning", he wispered. "Good morning,
where are you going"? Also noticing that he
was wearing sneakers and gray shorts. His gym bag was
packed up in the coorner by the sofa. "I have Lacrosse
practice". "Ok", she said in a raspy morning
voice. "What are you going to do all day"? He
asked Anna. Truthfully today was the day Anna had
planned to retrieve her laptop, money from the safe
under her bed, and more food from her parents house. Since it
was a ssaturday though she would have to plan it just right,
for when her mom was at book club and her dad was playing
golf. Anna had decided she would shower and stuff
at the YMCA this morning, and then head over there. But she
told Luke that she was most likely going to just relax and
read a book or paint her nails today. He seemed
satisfied with her answer so he kissed on the forehead and
jogged out the door. "I'll be home
by 2:30", he called. "You better still be
here, I know how impatient you can be", he said smiling
and ran down the street to catch the MHAB, or the
Montview High Athletic Bus. She glanced ar the
clock, 8:30, she had 6 hours to complete her
plan.
Around 9:45 Anna was walking out of the YMCA nice and clean, or as clean as you can be from a public shower. The side walk was damp, like it had drizzled a bit while she was inside. It was 2 miles to get from the Y to her parents house and Anna figured she could make it.
It was 11 o'clock when she was headed back to the warehouse with everything she needed. Anna was light headed and her steps were staggered. She could see the warehouse in sight she began to jog. Pressure pounded on her skull, Anna flew through the door and hit the ground hard.
"Anna, Anna, Anna please talk to me, honey what happened". "Come on Anna wake up"! Luke screamed, he was so scared. Slowly her eye lids opened, she stared at his frazzled face, and felt her head. She had a huge lump and the skin on her arm was cut up and bloody. He slowly sat her up on the matress and gave her a glass of water. She sipped it slowly trying to figure out what was going on. The last thing she remembered she was running back from her parents house. It was all black from there. "Anna what are on earth happened"? She slowly spoke, "I went to the Y to shower than I walked to my parents' house to get more supplies, and then I started to come back here. But that's all I can remember". "Anna, you do know your pregnant right? You can't just go walking 6 miles whenever you please"! "The baby", she wispered. "What yeah obviously you forgot about that didn't..." "No, no" she said quickly. She felt her stomach, nothing the baby wasn't kicking and she couldn't feel anything. She felt empty and hallow. "Luke, I think the baby is hurt"! she screamed. Anna grabbed his muscular hand and put it on her stomach. His face changed from angry and upset to confused and dreary. "Anna you have to go to the hospital right now"! She nodded and he called 911. He gave the women on the other end the address to the pizza place down the street. Luke picked her up and carried her down their and they waited for the ambulance. She cried on his shoulder, and he just stared off into space, with no facial expression. Luke was having a slow mental break down...

Bright
beams of light flooded the warehouse. It was early morning,
and Anna opened her eyes to a ray off sun light shinning
right in her vision. She sat up and stretched her arms. Then
she looked around and noticed that Luke was gone. But then
she saw the note, on the floor next to the mattress. It
read, "Dear Anna, I had to go to school. We will have to
figure something out, I will call you later. From,
Luke" She wasn't that surprised she knew he
was going to have to go to school eventually, it's
just she was just choosing not to. She wasn't completely
blowing off school though. She had found a great way to take
it online. Unfortunately Anna had left her laptop at her
parents' house, so she would have to retrieve it
later.
After she had washed up, done her hair, and make-up, she got changed. The only problem would be, how was she going to shower? After thinking for a while Anna decided upon the YMCA down the street since she already had a membership she could work out and then shower. Since Luke was going to be gone all day she decided to walk around a little to get some exercise. Grabbing her Doulche handbag and northface she slipped on her chestnut uggs and waltzed out the door.
Sadly her walk was interruoted though when she had to run back to the house because of the pooring rain. This was also a problem at the warehouse though because there was a huge hole in the ceiling right above where Anna and Luke's bed was. Anna quickly starting moving the matress and the belonings she had taken out of her duffel bag. She decided that if she was going to be living there she wanted it to feel more like home. She pulled the bed into the corner and hung a curtain to provide privacy. Then she found some old furniture in the back and began setting up a living room. Then she unpacked some of her stuff into a small cabnet she had found. The furniture was dusty and ripped and the cabnet was missing a leg, which Anna had to repair with a small chunk of wood. Also the only running water they had was from a hose in the back, but at least she had something. "bleep bleep" Anna's iphone chirped. 1 new text message and she pressed read. "Anna will you be home for supper"? from mom. This was the only problem how was she suppossed to elude her parents for 8 months. "No, I am staying at the soup kitchen for the next month for community service work", she typed. "bleep bleep" "Oh Anna how kind, have fun". Wow she is dumb Anna thought.
Around 5 o'clock Anna had finished preparing a meal of dry cereal, grapes, and water. When Luke came bounding in the door soaking wet. "Hey Anna", he called. "It's still raining pretty hard out there". "Yeah, I guess it is", she giggled handing him a towel. He ran it through his short brown hair and took of his damp shirt. Then he grabbed Anna's hand and spun her around in a circle. SHe smiled so big, and his kissed her soft and passionate on the lips. They fell backwards onto the couch and kissed for a long time. She ran her fingers through his hair, and he held her tight like he would never let go. For Anna it was the perfect moment.

Chapter 6
It
had started to get really dark, so Anna had decided she
should rest. But around 2 o'clock, she was awaken by
strange creeking noises coming from the back of the
warehouse. "it's just the wind", she wispered
to herself. Truthfully though, Anna was scared to death. She
realized she wasn't even going to last the night on her
own. So how was she going to last 8 more months! Quickly she
pulled her phone out of her back pocket, and typed an
urgent text- Help! alone,scared, at Kmart warehouse. And she
pressed send.
30 minutes later, Luke was racing through the back door of the warehouse. A large, appreciative grin spred across Anna's face. "Anna, what the heck are you doing here", he panted, completely out of breath from his run here. "I ran away", she mumbled. "What, why would you do that", he asked very confused. "I don't want anyone to see me like this, I had to get away from all the approaching humiliation", she began to weep. "I don't really understand what you're talking about Anna". "I'm pregnant Luke"! That's when the room when comepletely silent. Neither of them payed attention to the mysterious creeking sound. He just stared into the distance, and she stared into his eyes trying to figure out what he was thinking. After 5 minutes of dead silence, he spoke. His voice was vonerable and fragile, and it was only one sentence, but it broke Anna's heart. "It's not mine, is it"? She nodded her head yes. He stood, and grabbed a rock by his shoe. He threw it as hard as he could at the wall. It smashed into tiny pieces across the floor. Then he did something that surprised Anna. He sat down next to her, and he put his arm around her shoulder, and he kissed her lightly on the forehead. "I am here for you", he wispered. Anna nodded her head. Then he laid down on the lumpy matress, and Anna rested her head on his muscular chest. They looked through the gapping hole in the ceiling and stared at the stars and watched the clouds role by.

Chapter 5
"I'm sexy and I know
it"! Anna had run all the way home and
then turn on the stereo system to full blast. It helped
her clear her head, and concentrate on her thoughts. Anna
had made a check-list of what she needed, during school,
and saved it to her phone. Quickly she did a mental
re-read of the list to remember everything she
needed. Phone charger, blankets, pillow, water, food,
money, flashlight, Advil, toothbrush, make-up, toilet
paper, hair brush, and clothes. She put all of the stuff
in a very large rolling duffel bag. Turned off the
stereo, and began to hurry out of the house. On her
way out though she decided she would grab a picture of her
parents. A tear rolled down her cheek, and she slammed
the door hard.
Outside the world seemed dark and eerie. The wind howled in the trees and animals rustled in the bushes. But Anna was brave, she knew their was no way she could continue to live her old life. This was absolutely the only option she had to escape her horrible mistake.
30 minutes later Anna was rolling her duffel into the warehouse. It was very dark, and drafty, also it smelled faintly of moss. "home sweet home" she muttered to herself. In the middle of the room was an old beat-up mattress left over from the furniture outlet, that had also shared the space. Anna wheeled over to it, releaved she wouldn't have to sleep on the floor. She ploped down on it exhuasted from the long day. It was far less comfortable than her temperpediac king sized bed with silk woven sheets, but it would due.
It had been about a month and a half since Luke's party. Anna had just discovered the pregnancy recently though. But the symptoms were coming pretty fast. Already she had gained a small amount of weight, and had morning sickness. But as she was sitting there she felt something she didn't ever expect to happen. The baby kicked, soft and gentle. Up until now Anna had hated the idea of having a baby, but now she was beginning to feel attached to him/her. Maybe things would be okay, and work themselves out for the better. And then the angry, disapointed, and hurt faces of her parents filled her head. "Or maybe this will all crash and burn, and completely distroy me" she sighed.

Chapter 4
The
grass had been freshly cut, and the pine trees gave off
a wonderful aroma. Spring had rolled in
so peacefully, and the birds chirped little songs to one
and other. The time was around 1 o'clock and all the
classes were still in session at the Montview High school.
There was a sudden slam of a door that
interrupted it all though. That slam was Anna,
racing as fast as she could threw the wooded surrondings
of the school. The only things in her hands were
her new Iphone 4S and her old journal that she had dug
out of her locker during study hall. Her black northface
fleece clung to her body as she shot like a
bullet around the bushes and trees. As soon as she was
off of school property and safely out of sight she collasped
in a heep, panting as she was short on breath. Her feet
ached, Anna had certainly picked the wrong day to wear
her Jimmy Choo black suede boots. Luckily no one had tried to
follow her out the front door. During study hall Anna
had decided she was going to run away. So she had grabed
the few items she needed from her locker and when
the teacher let her go to the bathroom she had fled the
school. Anna had not informed anyone of her plan,
because it was still shaky to her too. She texted her mom
saying she was sleeping over Casandra's house tonight, so
she wouldn't worry. Then she had sent Luke a quick text
saying she was very sick went home early, and her mom was not
permitting visitors. Anna hadn't told Luke yet that she
was pregnant. She wasn't sure if she ever
would. Right now she had to get home and get the rest of
the necessary items for survival from her house,
before her parents got home from work. Then Anna had
planned that she would hide out in the abandoned Kmart
warehouse down town. It seemed crazy she was doing this but
she couldn't risk the humiliation of some one finding out
about her being pregnant, not even her parents.
Eventually she would have to go see a doctor. But that was a
event for another day.

Chapter 3
After Luke
left, she rushed to the dank bathroom to gather her
thoughts. The vicious smells of lemon air freshener
and moss filled her nose. Anna gazed into the mirror,
"get it together Anna", she wispered to
herself. Her beach blonde curls cascased down her tan
shoulders and framed her oval face perfectly. Soft pink
lipstick glossed her lips and a dark brown eyeshadow
complimented her bold, black eyelashes amazingly. Before
she strutted out Anna ajusted her blue, silk,
designer delicate flow V-neck.
"Anna", so nice of you to join us her french teacher said, in a thick accent. "Sorry, i didn't feel to good", Anna said. Which wasn't a total lie because she was pretty hungover. Class was 45 mins, but for Anna it was only 10 because she got sent to the principle for falling asleep in class.
She stumbled down to lunch releaved that today was friday and Luke had study period during her lunch time so she could sit alone. Luckily the principle had let her off with a warning, because her mom was already upset with her for coming home late last night. Casandra was still no where to be seen but Anna didn't have time to worry about it, she gladly ran out the front doors to meet her mom for a routiene dentist appointment.
The next few days went the same way. She was late, tired and sick every morning. She couldn't figure out why though. She didn't have a fever or a cold or stomach bug. She was just exhuasted and queasy every morning. Luke continued to shower her with love and that made her feel a little better, but it still perplexed her how he was just all of a sudden in love with her!
Soon it had been a month and Anna learned that Casandra had been in juvie for Drunk driving. Of course no one had bothered to tell her this and she had been worried sick. She thought that maybe that was the explination for her morning sickness, but she knew she couldn't deny it any longer. It explained everything so perfectly. Where she had ended up after she had run into Luke at the party. Why he was suddenly in love with her, along with the morning sickness. But finally it explained why she had gained a little bit of weight and was late for her period. Anna knew she had to go see a doctor, but what se really needed right now was to curl up into a ball, in the corner of the room, and cry.

"I have arrived"! Anna screamed
as she immediately ran to the drink table. "Anna, glad
you could make it", josh said in a drunk monotone. She
grabed a beer and hurried back to Casandra, so they could do
their party walk. First the girls circled the party and
wispered about every other girls' outfit. After that they
proceeded in having more alcohol.Finally they flirted with
all the cute guys at the party.
But Anna got a little carried away with her alcohol consumption and before she knew it she was flat out drunk. Casandra was no where to be seen so Anna went to go find Luke. Things got confusing from there, and Anna's thoughts were jumbled.
"Anna, hey what do you think of the party"? Luke shouted over the loud music. "Oh ya its great", she managed to reply. "Do you wanna, you know", and luke made a gesture to what Anna thought was the door. So asuming they were ditching the party for a quiet place to talk. So she nodded, and numbly followed Luke upstairs.
Anna woke up with a pounding headache, but she was in her own bed, so she figured she must have had the common sense to have Casandra drive her home last night. Chapter 1
"Anna get out of bed"! her mom screamed from downstairs. "I am coming"! Anna screamed back. It seemed like a typical day to Anna. She had to drive to school because she missed the bus, but she looked amazing as usual. And like every other day, her best friend Casandra greeted her at the door. "Anna, are you going to Luke's party tonight"? Casandra giggled. "Casandra, please, of course i am going. Besides it wouldn't be a party without me, now would it", she smiled.
The two girls sauntered into to class late that day. And then like every other day they had to "apologize" to the class for their tardiness. Taking their favorite seats in the back row, Anna slid into a chair next to Luke. Even though they weren't officially dating everyone thought they had "a thing", and she was determined to keep it that way.
After what seemed like a life time mr. Syde let the class out, and Anna bolted to the coffee stand to get a frapachino before lunch. "Anna, over here", Luke called. She took her seat at Luke's table, and all his friends gave an appreciative wissle when she had to bend over, in her mini skirt, to pick up her bag. "pigs", she laughed, because she knew they were only kidding.
Since it was a half day, Anna went straight to Casandra's house to get ready for the party. Anna felt a bit bad always letting Casandra's mom drive them around, she did have her own car. But Mrs. Montehew insisted.
There were 5 hours to the party, and prep time started, NOW!
