A Change Of Heart
Chapter 2
" What happened?" I said, trying so hard not to let the tears fall .
"The car skidded off the road and seems to have tried to avoid hitting something, and ended up crashing, and well ended up in the lake." Officer Kyle said with deep remorse for he had known my father for many years.
I let a few moments of silence pass as I just thought of what to do. I needed to get out. Go for a walk, a run... Something. Remy was busy talking about the bodies, and funeral arrangements. "Remy? I need to...." Before I could finish she looked at me with tears in her eyes "I understand Cade, just be back before it's to late." I ran upstairs threw on my hoodie anda pair of shorts. So I ran. I ran and ran and when I was done I ran some more and finally I ran home.
~Days Later~
Soon the memories came. I was wearing a skirt and he was wearing his jeans. Typical. It was our first summer together and I was telling him how cool my family was, we had just adopted Liam that same month. People always wondered what our story was because were to different ethnic groups but he'd simply take my hand and smile " She's just my sister, The biggest, bestest sister ever" and look at me for comfirmation. And ever since then we've been best friends. Even as we got older. "Hey, Watch It !" Some angry man said with his head out the window for I hadn't been paying attention and walked right infront of his car and almost got hit. I'd been walking for hours now. Remy was at work and its summer so, no school. I was all alone.
"Cade !" It was him. The mystery hottie from earlier. "Hey, Are you alright you look sick?" He said with mixed emotions in his eyes.
You could hear the concern in his voice.
"I'm...Uh, I'm...?" it's like I couldn't breathe.
"You need to sit down and drink some water" He said worriedly. I spoke quietly now, "My parents and brother they died."
"Cade, I'm terribly sorry. Your father was a great man." He said with tears in his eyes.
"How do you know?" I was shocked to hear him say that , how did he know my father?
"That's a story for another day. I tried to get it out of him but it was clear that he wanted to save that for another day.
"Could you at least to tell me your name?" I said defeated.
"Damon Collins." He said with a smile that'd put the stars to shame.
I admired him for awhile. Noticed his dimples, his perfectly unperfect teeth, how eyes are the perfect hazely eyes. "If you want to see more just ask. " He jokingly said while playfully unzipping his jacket.
"Very funny but I'll take a rain check on that one." I said with a smile.
"Jeez, It looks like we have a smile here folks." He said laughing.
"Well keep this up and you'll see more of it" I said happily, I was really happy.
Suddenly he leaned in and gave me a soft kiss on my lips." Let's get you home, alright?" He was smiling a big old smile from ear to ear.
And I couldn't help but do the same.

A Change of Heart
Chapter 1
"Cade Matthews? Hi this is detective Lawrence. I'm calling to notfiy you that we have found your parents car at the bottom of Lake Chelan, I'm sorry to inform you that your family seems to have not survived the crash. I am so sorry for your lose and will be sending over an officer to your residence shortly."
I sat there on the kitchen floor replaying the message over and over again. Remy would be over any minute wondering why my dad hasn't returned any of her phone calls since she came back from her Missionary Trip to the Philippines.. Remy was my stepmom, and has been for the past six years. She isn't like most stepmoms whose stepkids hate. No she's just right.
"Hello?" I stand up quickly. Who is it? It can't be the police no car pulled up. I quietly go to the window to see who it could be. Standing there at the door is a boy. His black hair covering one of his gorgeous hazel eyes. His light brown skin and........
"Hello? I can see you." He said with a slightly irrated smile on his face.
"Oh sorry" I rushed to the door but quickly wiping my face before opening the door.
"Ummm, Yes? Can I help you?" Trying to sound casual as if he didn't just catch me staring at him through the window. "Yes, are you Cade? Cade Matthews?" He said with a slight smile on his face. "Yes I am, and who might you be?" I was curious to know who this gorgeous guy was. "I'm...." Just as he was about to finish telling me who he was a police car drove up my drive with Remy right behind it. "Cade? Cade honey I'm so sorry. Don't worry, I'm here okay? I'm here."
I didn't want to cry infront of my mystery guy but I could feel the tears coming. I tried to hold them back while Remy held me, rubbing my back telling me things I couldn't quite understand. "Cade? I'll see you around. Bye. " Before I could say anything he disapeared into nowhere.
And next thing I knew everything went black, yet I could still the hear voices.
