I felt as if I had drifted out to sea.
Waves pounded at my ribs, seasoning my eyes.
Nothing is in sight for miles, but murky black waters.
Mysterious sea creatures' and their curiosities grow as I struggle to make my way to the nearest bit of land.
Something soft is below the surface, nudging at my thigh; a signal to let go.
To give in.
I hold my breath while the animal slowly pulls me down into the depths of pure darkness.
I start to panic.
No more air.
I gasp and take in a mouth full of the tainted water.
Thefelonious creature comes face-to-face with me now.
I continue to choke and try to free myself from its grip on my leg.
It doesn't budge.
Slowly, it leans closer.
Then a little bit more.
It was so close; I could hear its heart's uneven rhythm.
its mouth was wide open, showing off various rows of knife-like teeth.
Its tongue finds its way to my cheek.
I tightly shut my eyes to prevent from going into shock.
The animal's tongue continues to slowly slide across my cheek, down to my neck.
My hand was close to the creature's oddly shaped arm.
I grabbed it and sink in my sharp nails.
The animal frees my leg and let out a defining distress call.
I covered my ears as I descend deeper into pure darkness.
Suddenly I was light headed.
Then, a loud ringing sound in my left ear.
I lost feeling in both of my arms.
I tried to lift my hand up to where the creature tasted.
It didn't feel like the rest of my skin did.
It felt slimy.
Heavy.
Deep.
The animal had cut into my skin.
It all seemed to be going in slow motion.
Slow.
Slowly losing consciousness.
Slowly sinking further down into the dark sea.
Slowly bleeding to death.
My eyes suddenly snap open, and I come back to reality.
