I woke up extra early this morning. I had already planned out what I
was going to do to get David to like me last night!
'Let day one be flirt day' i repeated in my mind
I had made a huge effort in my appearence for today.
I curled my long black straight hair, applied thick liquid eyeliner and added peachy lipgloss.
Alright, thats not that much, but for someone who never usually wears makeup it is.
I then rushed downstairs to go get breakfast, still in my bathrobe.

''Fancy much? Where do you think your going looking like that?''  my dad spat at me.
He has been so miserable since my mum passed. He hasn't been able to get a date or anything.
No one wants to be with a man who already has a child, right?
I was too scared to answer, i mean, It was a bit stupid, all i was going to do was flirt.
Therefore i simply ignored him and took my cereal into the living room and ate, fast.
Then I rushed upstairs to get into my uniform.
I put on my pretty pink and black lace bra, even though he woudn't be able to see it and the school
only allows us to have plain bra's incase they can be seen through your school shirt.
I just wanted to feel pretty for day one. 
I had put on my normal underwear and school uniform, with my skirt a little higher than usual.
I felt like an absoulute sl/t
But thats what boys seem to like , right?
I grabbed my school bag and put on my shoes and rushed out the door without my dad seeing me.
When i arrived at school, Everyone looked at me as if i was unrecognisable.
Some even wolf whistled.
Hey, maybe this will work?
I go over to see David with Jane and his other usual friends. Jane flirting away.
Jane had blonde curly hair and amazing blue eyes. She was beautiful.
I had to walk pass them anyway to get to Maria and Debbie, My friends.
Maria was an asian girl, with long brown silky hair and light brown eyes,
And debbie was an irish girl with blonde hair and light green eyes.
I'm so glad they were my friends, us three are always together, but i always feel like the 'ugly friend' 
Hopefully today that will change.
I decided to say a quick hello to David, As i usually do anyway, I'm lucky to be close with him, we always tell
eachother our secrets, but this one secret i've kept for a very long time.
''Hey David''
I said smiling at him, Jane eyeing me up and down.
''Hey umm Lexi? if that is really you, you look so different today!'' he replied smiling and i giggled.
'' Well Lexi. You've obviously made an effort out of all you have'' she said bursting out laughing.
I glared at her. I wanted to punch her so bad, i wish she didn't exist.
''I didn't ask for your opinion. And as you can see I was talking to DAVID.'' emphasizing his name.
''Look. David's mine. Back off you orphan.'' Jane spat in my ear.
I felt tears form in my eyes.

Lexi Day. That was my name. I hated hearing it. 

It reminded me of the fact that i'm still living. The only thing keeping me alive is my crush, David Robertson.
I've loved him since I set my eyes on him in 3rd grade.
But other than that, everything else i hate.
My mother died last year (i'm 16 now)and my fathers struggling to raise me.
I'm not rich like the other kids, and i'm not happy either
I would do anything for a good christmas. 
There's this popular girl at my school, Jane Davis, who's always flirting with David.
Well, how couldn't she? Hes stunning. Big brown eyes and floppy blonde hair
He's a dream.
I've known him longer than anyone in my school, i probably fancy him more than they do too.
But, Anyways, I'm hoping i will have the guts to ask out David this year.
Yes, yes, i know girls don't usually ask out guys.
But if i don't take this chance who will?...
