The above is one of my favourite songs of all time: Auld Lang Syne, a Scottish song which many countries now use to ring in the New Year. I am part Scottish, Australian and English, so Scotland is a country close to my heart. My username is Auld_Lang_Syne, as you can see ...
I am a 14-year-old profoundly deaf girl from Australia, who makes quotes for the fun of it or to vent things. All my life I have gone to school alongside hearing students - I chose not to go to a deaf boarding school in London, when I lived in that city. That one decision changed everything.
I am a big, big fan of Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I have over 30 books of Star Wars and Doctor Who - plus I write fanfiction! I might add a couple of my fanfictions here.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
Auld_Lang_Syne.
Did y'all see
my quote about my hearing?
Well,
it has finally died, for ever. Like I feared.
I am now wearing a model from 2006,
my old one, and it sucks. It'll be about another month or so
before my new hearing arrives, and this hearing isn't as good
as the other one. I had to play netball deaf this morning because this hearing
can't support as much rain as with the other one.
Please fave/comment this and
help me know I'm not
alone.

Should the days of auld aquaintance be
forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should the days of auld aquaintance be forgot,
And the days of auld lang
syne?
My hearing aid is
about to die forever. It's been stomped on and countless
other calamities in the course of the five years I've had the
grace to use it.
Now,
it is dying.
I'm waiting
for a new model. I don't think it will get here before my
current one dies. If that happens I will be left stranded for at
least two weeks, deaf for an entire two weeks. School,
everything.
I feel so alone. I feel like no-one else
understands my
pain.
