"He is bad news..."
Chapter 18
“WHAT?” I shouted in shock.
“Keep your voice down!” he hissed, pushing me inside the house.
“No, I won’t keep my voice down!” I yelled at him even louder.
“The neighbors” he said, flashing me a sad smile.
“So now you care about the neighbors?” I murmured.
“Are we gonna stay here all night?” he asked, giving me his popular smirk.
“No. Come in” I said, grabbing his arm and leading him inside. I checked if anyone saw us talking –I wouldn’t quite love it if they were any witnesses, and neither would Everett– and closed the door slowly.
I walked to the living room, just to find Everett lounging on the sofa, watching TV. I rolled my eyes and sat down next to him. He automatically wrapped his arm around me, pulling him closer. I just smiled and snuggled next to him on the couch. I looked at the TV. The moment I understood which movie he was watching I almost got a heart attack.
‘Remember Me’.
OH MY GOD. Everett was actually watching a chick flick. THAT was funny.
I started laughing uncontrollably. Everett shot me a weird look but glued his eyes on the screen, move that made me laugh even harder. I pulled away and lied on the couch, laughing so awfully loud. Everett pressed the mute button on the remote and looked at me. I stopped laughing and just laid there. He poked my arm and I giggled.
“Okay, what’s wrong?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
I tried to hold back my laugher. “You’re watching… ‘Remember Me’!” I shouted, laughing at his face again.
He looked really confused. “So?”
“It’s a chick flick, Everett. I thought you were a bad boy” I said, grinning.
He moved closer to me, stopping right in front of my face. “I am. I suppose. Come on, there was nothing else on TV”.
“Yeah, right” I smirked. “You just love chick flicks”.
“I do not!” he complained.
“You do!” I said, pointing at his face.
He grabbed me from my wrists and kissed me, catching me by surprise. I just smiled and kissed him back, releasing my wrists from his grip and putting my palms on his neck. His arms wrapped around my waist and he pulled me closer.
“I do not” he whispered against my lips all of a sudden.
I gave him a confused look. “What?”
“I do not like chick flicks” he repeated, giving me a devilish smile.
“Good. Neither do I” I murmured, kissing him again. He immediately kissed back, sliding his left hand on my face. I smiled into his mouth as he deepened the kiss, pushing me slightly backwards.
The doorbell sounded again. He pulled away, cus.sing under his breath. “Sh*t, who is it?” I murmured, standing up.
“Whoever is it, kick them out so we can make out or maybe more” he smirked, looking over at me.
“You’re a per.vert” I said laughing and walked to the hall.
I opened the door carefully. Shocked, I watched at a drunk Sienna. Sh*t, think fast think fast.
I shut the door closed on her face and ran to the living room. Everett was casually sitting there, his back pressed against the sofa surface. He gave me a confused look.
“What’s wrong? Who is it?” he asked.
I took a deep breath.
“You gotta hide”.

"He is bad news..."
Chapter 17
It was another Saturday night. Just like always, I was all alone in the house. My mom and dad were at some dinner with clients or friends. They told me before they leave but I was watching TV and didn’t pay attention. The fact that they can’t even spend one Saturday night with their daughter and ONLY child was getting on my nerves. Plus, I was all alone since Sienna went to a party with Everett. It su.cks.
I was lounging on the sofa, watching CSI. Yeah, not the best way to spend your Saturday night, but seriously, what are my choices? Exactly my point, see?
I sighed, checking my phone. No new texts messages or phone calls. I rolled my eyes and played my favorite game: Robot Unicorn Attack 2. If Sienna was here, she was gonna say that this game is for little kids, not seventeen–year–old girls. Who cares, though? I still love that game, no matter what my age is.
My unicorn died several times and I passed three levels till I decided it was time to leave it. I threw my phone across the couch and glued my eyes on the TV screen. Just then, my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID. Sienna. What’s wrong? Why is she calling me? Isn’t she at the party?
“Sienna?” I asked, answering the phone.
“Evelyn! Hey!” she shouted, smashing my eardrums.
“Why did you call me?” I asked, shouting as well. The music was so loud on where she was; I bet she wouldn’t listen to me if I kept on talking like this.
“Just wanted to talk” she said with a careless tone. Oh no.
“Are you drunk?” I yelled.
“A little” she admitted, giggling like stupid.
Suddenly, I heard a noise over the phone. Someone must have burst into the room. I could hear teenagers screaming, girls especially, and… What’s that? A police car’s siren? Wait, no. It can’t be.
“I gotta go. I’ll call you later!” Sienna shouted, hanging up on me. I just shook my head and looked at the screen as she ended the call. I shrugged and went back to my boring life.
I threw my phone across the room and looked at the clock placed above the TV. It was almost midnight. Whoa, too late. Actually, it wasn’t that late, considering I slept around 4 am last night. It wasn’t my fault! Everett was up for chit–chat. What can I say.
I grabbed the remote from the floor –what was it doing down there anyway? - and turned off the TV. I yawned a few times before I get up and find my way to the staircase. I was about to go upstairs when my doorbell sounded. I rolled my eyes and walked to the hall lazily. I stood beside the door and opened it. I faced Everett pressing his hand against the doorframe. I panicked; he was barely breathing. Has he been running?
“What are you doing here?” I asked him, my eyes widened.
“Help” he breathed out.
I looked at him in total confusion. “Excuse me?”
“I need help” he repeated, his breathing rhythm being slowed down now.
“What happened?”
He was about to answer, when he choked on his words. I grabbed him by his shoulders and brought my face closer to his. “Everett. What happened?”
He took a deep breath, trying to recover. I wonder for how long he’s been running.
“The cops are after me”.

"He is bad news..."
Chapter 16
It was another Tuesday morning. I woke up, stretched my arms and blinked a few times, checking my room out. It was so messy; I forgot to clean it last night. Last night, I got it like this cause I had to pick an outfit. We went to the park with Everett. My parents had no idea since they sleep around 10 pm. I left the house around 11 pm and I was home half an hour later. I needed to wear some proper clothes but the process of finding some was really challenging.
I settled for a beige cropped knitted shirt, black skinny jeans and beige Uggs. The “date” was really cute. We walked around the park and talked about random things. Then, we went back home and he kissed me before dropping me off to my house. It was nice but also surprising. I didn’t know Everett could be so nice and kind.
I got up and washed my face. I picked a pink sheer buttoned–up shirt, black skinny jeans and brown oxfords. I wore the clothes and applied a few make–up on my face. I brushed my hair and grabbed my brown leather handbag and cell phone before I leave my room.
“Good morning” I said, entering the kitchen. My mother was wearing her formal clothes and reading a newspaper, while my dad was in a suit, drinking his coffee.
“Good morning” mom replied, not even taking her eyes off of her newspaper.
“What are you reading?” I asked, grabbing a cup and filling it with coffee.
“Financial news” she answered indifferently.
I scowled, before taking a look at my dad. He was scrolling down his e–mails on his iPad, blocking the world out of course. Yeah, that’s my family. Mom runs my grandpa’s company and dad is a successful lawyer. We have everything we want since they both have good salaries. I never cared about money, though. All I ever wanted was to have them close to me during my childhood and teenage years. Since I couldn’t have that, I don’t care about anything else.
I sighed and finished my coffee. Then, I grabbed my keys from the kitchen table and greeted my parents, before walking out of the house. I decided to walk to school today. Sienna drove me yesterday and I couldn’t have her eyes all over me. She made me feel so guilty. I know she would be so mad once she found out I had been… “seeing” (?) her brother for almost two weeks and didn’t say a word. One thing’s for sure though: she would be absolutely right to be mad.
I walked out of the house, holding my bag tightly. I unlocked my garden door and walked out, closing it again with my exit. I started walking across the pavement, plunging my earphones inside my ears. I listened to my favourite song, which made me feel better. I noticed a blue car on the road really close to me. I paused the song and looked at the car. I should have known. Everett’s blue Maserati.
He greeted me and smiled. I faked a grin and stopped walking the moment he stopped driving.
“Good morning” he said, waving at me.
“Good morning” I murmured coldly.
“Why are you grumpy?”
I laughed. “I’m not grumpy”.
He nodded, showing me the passenger’s seat door. I smiled and walked to his car, sliding inside. He looked at me and moved his face closer to mine. I giggled before pressing my lips against his, pulling him into an awkward kiss. After a few seconds he pulled away, scowling.
“Something’s wrong” he stated. “I know it”.
“No” I claimed. “Nothing’s wrong”.
“Your kiss was different last night, though”.
“Last night was last night, today is today” I defended, frowning.
He just shrugged, before analyzing his statement any further. He began to drive, his one hand on the steering wheel and the other around my shoulders. I stared at his hand for a while, trying not to laugh. We were like those couples who were going to school together and did everything together and all. Couples. OMG, if Sienna sees us, we’re both DEAD!!!
“Everett!” I hissed, clenching my hands on my seat.
“Yes, Ev?” he said, stopping on the red and looking over at me, grinning.
“Sienna. If she sees us going to school together, we’re dead!” I cried, feeling my whole body trembling.
“Why do you care about her anyway?” he questioned me, looking disturbed.
“She’s my best friend! If she finds out we’ve been together for...”
“We’re not together” he interrupted me.
I froze. “What are we, then?” I whispered, voice cracking.
“I don’t know, friends with benefits?” he said carelessly.
“Friends with benefits?” I almost shouted, looking at him. “You were the one who asked for one more chance. By this, I thought we had something, Everett. I thought you had feelings for me. Guess I was wrong” I retorted, trying to get out of the car.
“Wait” he called, grabbing my arm and pulling me closer.
“What?” I asked, looking down at him.
“You want commitments. Yet you choose the most inappropriate person. I’m not relationship material, Evelyn. I haven’t been in a relationship that lasted more than two weeks” he said, gazing into my eyes.
So, the rumors were true. His longest relationship lasted for two weeks only. I’ve never been in a relationship before, so I can’t compare my experiences to his. I gulped and looked at him, trying to think of a good comeback.
“Why don’t you try?” I whispered, so low, I doubt he even heard me.
Thankfully, he did.
“It’s not a good idea” he murmured.
“Why not?” I questioned him, my wide–eyed gaze on.
“Because I don’t want to hurt you”.

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay (what delay, it's still Sunday lol) but this weekend was so busy. I won't say much, just that it was HORRIBLE. Anyway, hope you liked this one! Chapter 15
I woke up. The sun was shining outside, making it hard for me to open my eyes. I tried to move but I felt my body so heavy. I turned around and saw Everett sleeping next to me. His face looked so peaceful. He was like an angel. He didn’t scowl or frown, which improved his characteristics a lot. Wait a second. EVERETT?! What the hell is he doing here?
I gasped, trying to release myself from his tight grip. I was actually pressed against his chest, with his arm lacing around my waist. I let out a shaky breath and removed his hand from my waist. He moved a little, his lashes fluttering. Next thing I knew, he snapped his eyes open and looked at me.
“What are you doing here?” he muttered, running his hand through his dirty blond hair.
“Me? What are YOU doing here?” I repeated the question.
“That’s my room” he stated.
I froze. “Oh, right”.
He laughed. “Silly” he said, pecking my nose.
“Stop it” I whined.
“Never” he said, smirking.
“Everett? Evelyn? What are you two doing here?” a third voice said.
Everett and I both turned around, facing Sienna standing by the doorframe. I gulped, biting my lip and looking over at her, along with Everett.
Yep, we’re scre.wed.

***

“What are you doing here Everett?!” Sienna shouted, clenching her fists and walking inside his room.
“That’s my room, duh!” he said, sitting up.
My eyes focused on the fact that he wasn’t wearing a shirt. Damn, he was hot. The blanket lowered, showing off his abs. I licked my upper lip, trying to keep my attention to Sienna.
“You said you weren’t gonna return!” she yelled at him, rolling her eyes.
“Yes, but I did! What’s your problem anyway?” he asked, annoyed.
“You’re in bed with my best friend! Plus, you’re not wearing a shirt. And she’s only wearing a t–shirt! If mum or dad walked right inside the room, they would…” she muttered but an open door interrupted her. Both his father and her mother walked in. I could tell Cassidy was pretty shocked and Tom was about to burst out laughing.
“What are you two doing here?” Cassidy asked, almost whispering.
We exchanged several looks with Everett before answering: “It’s not what it looks like” in perfect synchronization.
“Then, tell us how it is” said Sienna.
Tom mouthed a ‘Well done’ to Everett. Everett just kept quiet and lowered his gaze. I could see his cheeks turning red (just a little, of course) though.
“Okay, so I came home completely drunk and I just laid down on my bed. The last thing I noticed was Evelyn laying here. I didn’t see her, okay? I was as shocked as you are” he said. I knew he was telling the truth. From what I’ve heard, he gets drunk all the time. It’s the most logic excuse and the right one.
“That’s all? No flying elephants or robbers or anything?” Sienna mocked, rolling her eyes. She received a smack on her arm by Cassidy for that commend of hers, which surprised me a lot.
“Go take a bath kids and then Sienna, you drive Evelyn home” Tom said.
“Okay, okay” said Sienna, walking out of the room.
Everybody left after her. I stood up and looked at Everett, who was smirking now. He got up and closed the door, before wrapping his arms around me. “Good morning kiss?” he said, his voice being sweet and cute. I couldn’t help but laugh. I just hugged him and let him kiss me, hoping no one was looking.
He played with a curl of my hair. “I liked sleeping with you. You’re all warm and cuddly –– just like teddy bears” he joked, tucking my curl behind my ear.
“Did you just call me a teddy bear?” I said with an amusement smile.
“Maybe” he smirked, letting go.
He entered the bathroom and took a shower, leaving me being all dazzled.
Darn you, Everett. You’re so stupid.

"He is bad news..."
Chapter 14
I knocked on Sienna’s door. I waited for a couple of minutes before Sienna’s mother, Cassidy, got the door. She flashed me a warm smile. “Hey Evelyn!” she said happily.
“Hello Mrs. Filler” I greeted her with a bright smile.
“Oh, please dear” she said, leading me to the hall. “Call me Cassidy”.
Everett’s dad showed up. “Cassidy? Who’s at the door?”
The moment he saw me a bright smile appeared on his lips. “Evelyn! I haven’t seen you for more than three years! You’ve grown up” he noticed, coming closer.
“Hello Mr. Randers” I said shyly.
“Call me Tom” he said, smiling.
“Sienna’s waiting for you” said Cassidy. “She’s in the living room”.
I thanked them and walked to the living room, holding my bag tightly. There, I saw Sienna lounging on the sofa, blasting through random channels on TV. She looked extremely bored but her face lit up when she saw me.
“Bestie! There you are” she smiled, standing up.
“Here I am” I said happily.
“Come on, let’s go upstairs”.
We walked up the staircase and reached the second floor. On our way to Sienna’s bedroom, I noticed that Everett’s door was open and all the lights were off. I stopped, looking closer. “Where is he?”
Sienna walked to me. “Oh, he’s out partying. He’s not gonna return tonight, I think. You can sleep in his room” she explained fast.
I nodded. Then, I followed Sienna to her room and sat on the floor while she closed the door. “What movie do you wanna see? We can watch ‘Mean Girls’, ‘The Notebook’, ‘A Walk To Remember’, ‘Black Swan’…” she murmured, going through her DVD’s.
“Whatever you want is fine with me” I said, looking up at her.
“Mean Girls is it” she said, smirking.
She inserted the DVD and we sat on the floor, watching the movie. We had popcorns and chips (Sienna had brought them before I came) and the lights were turned off. So I guess that’s a girl’s night. Yay.
After a couple of hours, I was watching ‘Mean Girls’ for the third time tonight. Next to me, Sienna was sleeping peacefully, her head rested on my shoulder. We were talking about random things and next thing I knew, she had drifted off to sleep.
I carefully grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. I got up and covered Sienna with a blanket. Then I changed into my pajamas and I went to Everett’s bedroom. This was gonna be super awkward but I had no choice but to sleep here. The house had no other bedrooms and my other choice was to sleep on the couch downstairs, which I declined. So, I’m stuck in here I guess.
I awkwardly lied down and brought the blanket up to my neck. I looked around, noticing how nice Everett’s bedroom was. Last time I was in here, the last thing I noticed was the decoration. Now I could though, and I had to say it was great. With these thoughts, my eyes closed and I fell asleep.

Another boring chapter... I'm so sorry loves but these two weeks have been really rough for me. I'm not sure if I'll finish this story... I promise you I'll do my best but this doesn't depend on me. I don't mean to scare you, I just thought you should know.

Chapter 12
“We’re scre.wed. We’re scre.wed!” I screeched, feeling my heart racing inside my chest.
“Shhh! Keep your voice down!” Everett said, speaking on his louder whisper. We both shut the f*ck up when we heard footsteps approaching his room.
“What are we gonna do?” I asked, completely paralyzed.
“I have no f*cking idea! Wait, wait” he said, probably coming up with something. He helped me stand up and led me to the balcony. He opened the doors and I walked out. “Here. Hide here till I tell you to come back inside. She won’t find you” he assured me.
“I hope so”.
“She won’t. Now keep quiet and hide. Understood?”
I nodded.
“Okay. I’ll be back in a few. Don’t. Move.”
He shut the doors closed and went back inside the room. A few seconds after, Sienna was knocking on his door. I let out a sigh of relief and remained hidden. He opened the door and let her in.
“Hey sis” he said, playing it all cool.
“Hey dork. Why are you breathless?” she asked, suspiciousness in her voice.
“Me? Breathless? No, I’m all good” he claimed, still breathing hard.
“But you’re breathing hard and it’s like you… Oh, I see. You were with a girl! Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt” she nearly shouted, trying not to laugh.
If you only knew who the face you’re referring to is, I thought to myself. Oh Sienna, I wish I could tell you everything. I really do. I can’t, though because if you find out, you’ll be so mad and you’ll be right.
“Just so you know Evelyn might sleep over this weekend” Sienna murmured.
“Does she know?” Everett joked.
“I’ll tell her, mor.on. Don’t forget to behave. If that’s even possible with you, yikes. I’m off now. See ya later, bro” she said and then she left, shutting the door close behind her.
A couple of minutes later, Everett opened the doors again and grabbed me inside the room. My breath was hitched and I was really scared. I looked at him just to see he was as scared as me.
“Whoa, that was close” he said in an abortive attempt to cool down the atmosphere.
“Not funny. Can you imagine what would happen if she found out I was here making out with you?” I asked, hissing.
“I really don’t wanna think about it. Now, let’s go. I’ll help you leave. We’ll go to the kitchen and you can use the back door. Okay?” he asked, feeling unsure as well.
“Okay” I replied.
He took my hand and we sneaked out of his room. He looked around, checking if Sienna was close. When we both noticed that everything was clear, we ran down the staircase and burst into the kitchen. He locked the door and leaned against it, letting out a sigh.
“Here” he pointed at the door. “Go before she finds you”.
Suddenly, my eyes widened. Omg, omg, omg, omg. I had forgotten my things on the living room when I arrived here. “Sh*t, my things!” I interjected.
He gave me a weird look, not understanding my words.
“My books and coat you mor.on!” I hissed.
“What about them?”
“I left them on the living room! Go take them!”
He face–palmed and then groaned. “Wait here”.
He unlocked the door and pulled his head outside, checking if Sienna was here. Then he sneaked out carefully and closed the door behind him. I stood there, my heart beating like crazy. I thought it was gonna blow up. This was totally crazy. I must be in a dream or whatever. I pinched myself several times just to realize I was wide awake and living all these. I scowled and waited for Everett to come back.
The handle of the door twisted. My breath caught up on my throat. I didn’t make a single sound. There was nowhere I could go now. Sienna would find me and I’m sure I’d have much explaining to do. Darn it.
The door opened and I noticed that Everett was walking in, with my things in his hands. I sighed with relief and smiled at him. He entered the room and closed the door behind him, handing me my coat and books. “Thanks” I muttered.
“You’re welcome. You have to go now though”.
I nodded and was ready to walk away when he pulled me back. His hands touched my neck and he leaned in, pressing his lips against mine. After we shared a long and deep kiss he pulled away, smiling.
“See you tomorrow” I said, opening the door and looking back at him with a smile.
“See you tomorrow” he replied, waving at me.
I walked out of his house and closed the door behind me. I took a deep breath and walked away from her house, feeling relieved.
Just like Everett said and I quote.
Whoa, that was close.

Chapter 11
He smiled a bit before leaning in and capturing my lips on his. I kissed him back in no time, placing my hands on his chest. He deepened the kiss, pushing me backwards. I slid my hands and ran my fingers through his hair, pulling his dirty blond locks back. He licked my upper lip, grabbing my legs and separating them. I got a shiver down my spine but wrapped them around his waist, pulling him closer to me. This was so crazy. If his parents or Sienna just burst into the room, we would be in so much trouble.
He lifted me up, wrapping his arms tightly around me so I won’t fall. I had my hands on his neck, planting kisses all over his face. Okay, I was so crazy. I wasn’t the risky kind of girl, I was always afraid of everything, even my own shadow and now here I was, making out with Sienna’s stepbrother and my long–year crush, neglecting the fact that if anyone came here right now, I’d be screwed. We’d both be screwed. Oh God.
He carried me up the stairs and pulled away, looking for his bedroom door. When he found it, he walked to it slowly, so he won’t let me go. He grabbed the handle and tried to open it several times, but it seems that luck wasn’t with our side today. I planted kisses on his neck while he was struggling with the handle. He let out a groan and kicked the door, trying again to open it. Once it was finally open, he grabbed me from my waist and laid me down on his bed, landing on top of me. I reached up and moved closer till our lips locked. We started kissing passionately again, his hand trailing all over my body. I held on his shoulders steadily and flipped us over, smiling at him. He laughed before kissing me again and resting his hands on my hips.
“F*ck” he murmured, pulling away for three seconds.
I grabbed him by his shirt and kissed him again, before taking a look at him. “What?”
“I had no idea what I was missing out all this time” he admitted, smirking.
“Yeah right, as.s.hole” I laughed, throwing my head back.
“Why are you calling me that?” he said playfully.
“Because I can” I smirked.
“You hurt my feelings” he pouted, faking a sad puppy–eyes expression. I couldn’t help but giggle and peck his lips.
“Stop grumbling all the time” I said and smiled a cocky smile.
“It’s not grumbling. I prefer calling it ‘getting what I want’ thing” he claimed, a smirk appearing on his face.
“You’re so stu.pid”.
“Even if I am, which I’m not, but even if I was, I’d be your stu.pid” he stated, smiling. It was a real smile, though. Not a smirk or a cocky smile. A real, pure, happy smile which crept into my mind and made me smile back.
He cupped my face before pecking my nose and hugging me. I wrapped my arms around him, returning that gentle gesture. I had no idea a boy like Everett could be such a romantic; he’s usually pretty rude. I loved that side of his though; it made me fall for him even faster.
Wait.
What did I just say?
Oh. Now I’m falling for him.
Joy.
“Ev?” he said, snapping two fingers in front of my eyesight.
I shook my head and gave him a questioning look. “What?”
“You were drifted away and I was worried”.
I frowned before shaking my head. “Ev?”
“Don’t you like it? I just made it up” he said, flashing me a toothy smile.
“No” I smirked.
“Meany”.
“You still like me!”
He laughed, his eyes lingering on the crook of my neck. “Of course I do”.
Another voice decided to join the conversation. The person that this voice belonged to seemed to be downstairs, though. It sounded so distant. Unfortunately, I couldn’t recognize it. It sounded familiar, though. Could it be…? “Hello? Is anybody here? Everett?”
“Oh, sh*t” he said, grabbing me and throwing me off him. He jumped on his feet and ran his hand through his hair, panicked. “Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t”.
“What?” I asked, confused.
“Didn’t you hear? Sienna’s here”.

"He is bad news..."
Chapter 10
I fished my phone from my bag. I dialed Sienna’s number and called her for the ninth time the past five minutes. She told me we would leave together but now she’s nowhere to be seen. I stood up from the bench I was sitting and walked back to the school building. I found my way to her classroom during last period and I opened the door. I pulled my head inside and looked around, just to realize the room was empty. I let out a sigh of defeat before walking outside. I decided to walk to her house –I knew how to go there– just to check up on her.
I grabbed my books and coat and walked across the sidewalk, my one hand on my pocket and the other holding my handbag. I kept my eyes on the pavement, blocking out the world. I was really worried about Sienna. She was my best friend and I cared, just like she did.
After fifteen minutes of endless walking I finally saw the door that leads to their garden. I walked up to her door and jumped to her garden, holding back my laughter. I just broke into my best friend’s garden. I’m usually not that weird. They’ve turned me into a delinquent. I have a weird vocabulary. Oh, cr.ap.
I approached her porch and walked up her doorsteps. I stood in front of her door and gently pushed the doorbell. I waited for a couple of minutes before the door opened, revealing Everett. He looked at me from head to toe before smiling.
“Can’t live a minute without me, huh?”
I rolled my eyes playfully. “I’m looking for Sienna. Is she here?” I asked gently.
“No, she never returned from school. I think she went over a girl’s house to do a project in History” he replied, frowning.
Oh yeah. Sienna had this project in History. “Oh, right. I forgot, sil.ly me. Thanks” I said, turning on my heel and walking away.
“Wait” he called, grasping on my arm and pulling me backwards.
My back crushed on his strong chest and his arms wrapped around me. “Since you came either way” he whispered on my ear, “Let’s spend some time together”.
He pulled me inside the house, flashing me a genuine smile. I followed him without a word, kicking the door close. He smirked before leading me to the living room. He sat down and pulled me closer to him. I sat on his lap and flashed him a confident smile.
“What do you feel like doing right now?” he asked, his smirk never leaving his face.
“I don’t know about you but I’m going to the kitchen to find something to eat” I said, standing up and walking to the kitchen with a giggle.
I heard him complaining from the living room. I laughed and started opening some drawers, looking for something to eat. I was really hungry. You see, my breakfast wasn’t the best. My parents had to work so no one was there to cook breakfast for me. I was only eating toast with ham and cheese when I was too hungry. Otherwise, I was just going to school having eaten almost nothing but a glass of milk or water.
I heard footsteps. My head turned and I saw him leaning against the doorframe, his hands folded on his chest. He had his usual smirk on, which made me laugh.
“What’s so funny?” he asked, walking to me.
“Nothing” I murmured, shooting him a smile and looking away.
He leaned in, whispering in my ear. “Tell. Me.”
“Never” I said, sticking my tongue out at him.
“You’re such a kid” he laughed, before grabbing my waist and making me sit on the kitchen counter. He moved closer to me, his eyes snapping on my lips. I looked into his eyes, realizing he hasn’t kissed me since that Sunday night.
Whoa, this is almost a day ago.
Was I addicted?
I could be.

"He is bad news..."
Chapter 9
“So, who do you like?” Sienna asked me as we both took our seats on a table across the entrance of the cafeteria. I held my tray as I felt my sides paralyzing by her question. I tried to keep calm as I left my tray on the table and my bag on the chair next to me.
“No one” I answered, avoiding her eyes.
“Come on, there must have been a special boy who made your heart skip a beat” she protested, smirking.
I couldn’t help but laugh. Her tone of voice was funny. “Obviously no one”.
“Obviously someone” Sienna denied. “Tell meeeee” she whined, frowning.
“I have nothing to say” I claimed.
“Yes you do” she stated, snapping her finger at me.
I stuck my tongue out at her and laughed. She giggled and began to pinch the boiled vegetable in her plate with her fork. “Isn’t the food disgusting here?”
“Oh yeah!” I agreed, looking at my raspberry flavored ice cream. “Yikes”.
She caught a boiled piece of carrot with her fork and brought it to her mouth. She ate it, biting it slowly. She gulped, long and hard, before her eyes widened. “Oh my gosh! JESUS, the food is awful!” she cried, her mouth wide open.
I slapped her mouth close. “Tell me about it! I’ve been eating THIS for seven years now, how’s that?”
She looked at me. “Poor girl!”
We continued laughing and goofing around till the end of the lunch time. There, we said goodbye. I saw Sienna walking to her classroom; she had Math now. I turned around and went to my locker; I needed to check my hair. My intuition was telling me it looked awful.
I walked to my locker. I opened the door and left my phone inside. I was fixing my hair on the small mirror placed on the door of my locker when my phone vibrated. I turned it around and unlocked it. I just got a text from Everett. I wonder where I got his number though because I don’t remember him giving it to me. Oh well.
I felt my heart beating. Our fight this morning made me mad and sad at the same time. Why was he like that this morning? I really can’t tell. I guess he has issues as well.
Outside of our history class in five minutes. Be there. I won’t wait. Everett.
Whoa, possessive much? I thought to myself. This boy keeps driving me crazy. I have no idea where we are; what we are. A few days ago we did it. Last night we kissed. Today he woke me up and was to drive me to school but got mad I couldn’t hear him calling me and left. What the hell? Confusing as f*ck.
I took my books and closed my locker. I found my way to the history class and surprised, I saw he was already there. I wonder if he texted me while being there.
Without a word, he grasped onto my arm and opened the classroom door. Two freshmen were inside, talking. Both boys, from what I can see from here.
“Leave” Everett hissed, sending them a death glare. They got up and ran away, tripping on some chairs and desks on their way to the hallway. I found this pretty amusing, I don’t know why. It was funny.
Everett shut the door close. I left my books on a desk, knowing I wasn’t gonna go to class. He took a step closer, looking down at me. I tried to walk away but he pulled me closer and lifted me up. He made me sit down on the teacher’s desk. Fearful, I started kicking and punching his chest, scared. He stopped every move my shouting at my face.
“Just calm down for a second, can you?”
I froze. I tried to maintain a calm expression on my face, but it was impossible. I saw his muscles calming down as he exhaled and inhaled deeply. “I’m sorry” he murmured, pulling away.
“Why did you want me to meet you?” I asked, curiosity filling my voice.
He took my hands and looked me into the eyes. “I wanted to apologize. I have no idea what got into me this morning… I shouldn’t have been so rude”.
“Well… yeah you shouldn’t have” I agreed.
“Will you…”
“Yes” I cut him off. “Yes, I’ll forgive you”.
“One more thing…” he trailed off.
“Yes, Everett?”
He bit his lower lip, looking at our intertwined fingers. “I… Well, I don’t know how to say this but… I feel guilty. For what happened between us that Saturday. I know you didn’t want any of this to happen, so I apologize. I just want to make it up to you. I know I can’t give you your virginity back –I surely can’t– but I just want to be there for you and… Be what I couldn’t be back when we were kids”.
My breath hitched. I looked at him in disbelief. Somebody pitch me, I must be dreaming. Then, I reached up and pinched my arm.
“Why are you pinching your arm?” he asked, confused.
“To check if I’m dreaming or no” I answered simply.
“You’re not dreaming” he assured me.
“You should be beating up people, not asking a girl out” I claimed, raising an eyebrow.
“I’ve been sleeping around for more than three years. I just want to settle down and after what happened between us, it’s my duty to make it up to you and protect you” he breathed out.
I couldn’t say anything. Something was bothering me in his words but I just hugged him and cried on his shoulder, with tears of joy I never expected to have. He held me close, playing with my hair.
Jesus, am I really that lucky.
