“Fetch me my dress” Sansa hissed.
"What do you think I am your wet nurse? You little chirping bird, I do not do things under your command" Sandor laughed at the order, he stood tall, towering over the small bird.
"I will not be spoken to in such tone" Sansa replied grimly "And you shall never call me chirping bird again." she scoffed "I am soon to be your princess and you will talk to me as so" She paused... "hound." she smiled at the not so clever remark.
"You will be my queen little bird, but you will also be Joffrey wife." He smirked at that remark. "Little bird, that is what you are. You are no dire wolf. Just a chirping bird, Little Bird." Sandor twitched his mouth in remembrance of Joffrey cruelty, "I can't be nipping at Joffrey boots all day little bird, I am all you have between you and your loving king."
She frowned for a moment remembering also the grimace that had happened, but quickly stood up strait acting as if the comment had not cut her " Very well, if you will treat your future queen as so i will have you escorted from my presence." she turns to look at a guard nearby she snaps her fingers and points the man towering before her. The guard looks over and speaks in a professional tone "I am sorry your grace but I only take orders from the King and my general." Sansa's face turn red in anger and humiliation. She was about ready to snap.
Sandor laughed at the attempt to kick him out of the room, but he saw the anger in her eyes and knew the fun was at a end. "Come little bird.. Lets take you back to your cage. Get dressed the Prince has called for your attention at court." Sandor grabbed her arm and lead her to the cot she stayed and dressed in. "When you are in court with little Prince save yourself some pain and obey what he says." Sandor worried for Little bird, every time he saw a tear in her eye that the Prince caused, all he wanted to do was take her and run away.
Sansa listened but pretended to ignore the advice Sandor gave her. "I will do what I want," she said stubbornly "Either way I'm not stupid I'm aware that I should listen. But I'm am not a dog as you said earlier i do not obey." She looked in sandors eyes and saw the very slightest hint of sincerity "But I will try not to speak out of turn."
Sandor turned and pressed Sansa against a wall he leaned in a covered both sides with his hands so she couldn't escape "LOOK AT ME," Sandor lowered his head and realized he was screaming, he looked back up into Sansa's eyes, she was terrified. She was only a Little Bird. "The Prince also does what he wants, Little Bird. You will Obey or you get your tongue ripped out with hot clips, Chirping bird."He knew little bird understood, she just wanted to look big and tough in Sandor's eyes, Sandor knew though, he knew that she was small and scared and just wanted to be at her mothers side again.
The words were caught in sansas throat. She nodded slowly, knowing that Sandor was right. Her eyes watered but no tears rolled down her face. Sandors grip loosened and she slowly walked over to her oversized bed, sitting down with a sigh. Closing her eyes she thought about what jofferey had done and how even though he did not show it she knew Sandor would protect her. She looked up at Sandor walked over to him. She began to notice how tall he was compared to herself. She reached her hand to his face and looked into his eyes and simply said "thank you"
Sandor Dodged her hand as soon as it got close, she did not want to feel the painful fear that is my face. ( I just laughed so hard at what I just typed) He looked at the ground and his face went cold. "Don't thank me stupid bird" He went cold inside and his words cut like a knife. Anger filled his body, Sandor just made little bird cry. He swore he would never do that to little bird never. "Get dressed little bird, seven heavens have no protection for you if Prince find you late." Sandor started to leave the room.
"Wait!" Sansa cried, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Will you help me into my gown, at least, it is your choice." Sansa said realizing how weak it sounded. She stood up making herself taller and to look more confident even though what she felt was the opposite. Sandor stayed turned towards the door. "Can you please, " she paused thinking of what to say next. "I need help with jofferey " she explained "I don't know what to do, oh Sandor how I wish my mother was here to help, and I refuse to speak with my father, you are the only one." she stood staring at Sandor until he answered.
Sandor waked towards little bird, "Helping a woman into a gown is improper, I will fetch your hand maids." Sandor turned to walk away but he felt weak, sansas flowery smell over took him he turned and held little bird by the arms getting on his knees to become her hight. "I will never let the Little Prince hurt you again chirping bird." His eyes grew wide and grip became weak. Sandor tried to keep a cold look on his face, he tried to stay strong but the way she looked at him, the way she relied on this murderous bloody dog. Sandor got back to his feet and turned to the wall hoping he did not scare her again. "Don't rely on me to be there every time you get a feather plucked out little bird. A chirping bird can not trust a hound." Sandor walked out of the room and let the hand maids in, he waited for her outside the door. Sandor thought to himself: I will be there to protect little bird, till she grows, till she gets sick of of this hound.... But Sandor knew inside he was only a dog, she can not trust him, she shouldn't trust him.
Sansa had thought about what he had said and thought of it untrue. Her thoughts were very quickly interrupted by her cheery maids. "We've picked out the best dress that will match your eyes PERFECTLY" the maid said in an almost annoying elation "Prince jofferey will be all over you!" Sansa frowned "I hope not." she mumbled. "Just get on with it" she said in a rushed tone "I don't want to be late." By the time the maids had bathed and brushed and scrubbed her raw, she still couldn't get sandors words out of her head trying to figure out what he meant. Was he to hurt her, but she knew beneath his cold, burned face and towering body that he would never hurt her.
