"When you are writing a song, the easiest way to come up
with something is to write about something that recently
happened, or you are going through currently.
For example, if you just went through a breakup with your partner
or if you feel devistated over a death, maybe somebody got
accepted into colledge and you are really excited? You can write
that.
I have alot of ideas that you could write about, but a good idea
after you have chosen what to write about is to speak in
metaphors. Once you brainstorm and you say a line outloud and you
get that moment when you realize that you just figured out what
you wanted it to mean. For example in Taylor Swift's song
"Love Story" in the line (SPOILERS) "You were
Romeo and you were throwing pebbles, and Daddy said stay away
from Juliet,.." means her father did not want to have his
daughter dating the wrong guy. Or in "Sparks Fly'
(SPOILERS) in the line "You are a full-on rainstorm, and
I'm like a house of cards.." means
something..!"
~ Taylor Swift,... if I was speaking.
