//Chapter 2

“Hey Charlie,” said Carl, “I’m in here.” I followed his voice into the news room.  He was bending over some old newspapers, throwing them around the room.
“Need help?” I asked, and dropped my bag onto the floor. He nodded, and pointed to the newspapers.
“Help me find that article on the six year old that died in the car crash last year.” Carl was a reporter at the New York Times. I was just his assistant. I flicked a strand of my hair around my ear, and began looking.
“Found it.” Carl said, picking up a single piece of newspaper that had turned yellow by age. He read it aloud, and then walked over to his desk and sat down at his laptop.
“Why do you need this?” I asked, stacking the newspapers back into neat piles. His eyes flickered up to me, but he was still typing.
“They think it was the parents fault. They’re going to court tomorrow.” he said, and went back to concentrating on his story. After ten minutes, he looked back up at me.
“Why are you here? You’re not on shift until tomorrow.”
“I know, I came to get my pay check.” Carl opened a drawer and took out an envelope. He handed it to me and then sat back down. I opened it immediately. When I saw the amount of money inside, I dropped it onto the floor and gasped.
“THR–THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS?” I screamed, and Carl nodded. “It’s usually only two hundred a month!” Carl stood up and put his arm around me. This didn’t make me uncomfortable at all; Carl’s gay.
“I know, Charlie. But, I need you to do me a favour.” He said, and pushed me down onto a chair. He went around his desk and leaned back on the wall.
“What?” I asked, a little curious now. I couldn’t help feeling that was going to be a bad thing.
“Well, Mr Magenshire wanted a story to spice up the papers. You know, something to entertain younger readers.” Carl was talking about his strict boss. I nodded, and cocked my head to one side.
“What do you want me to do?”
“I thought of an idea. I need you to find your way into the ‘slutty’ and ‘popular’ group, and find out what influences those teens to act like so poorly.” I stood up. I shook my head. No way I’m going through with this. It’s not worth giving up your friend for money.
“No.” I said sternly. Carl sighed.
“Please, Charlie. I need you to. I will lose my job. I’m desperate.” I could see a hint of determination in his eyes. “I know you need the money.” I looked at him, and nodded. My family was broke, ever since dad left us. It’s just mom, Victoria and I. I really did need the money. Carl needed the job.
“Fine. But raise the money.” I said, holding out my hand. “And I want one hundred bucks upfront.” Carl nodded, and handed me the money.
“Five thousand enough?” he asked. I nodded, and a wide grin spread across my face as he scrawled his signature on a cheque, then tucked it away in an envelope. He also took the three thousand that he had already given me, and put it away too.
“For a month,” he said, “And then you will get the money.” I grinned at him. He held out one hand, beckoning me to shake it.
“Deal?” Carl asked. I nodded approvingly.
“Deal.”

More?? Oh, and character suggestions :)

//Chapter 1

I stood in the doorway of Preyton High, tapping my foot on the ground while waiting for Kat and Anne to show up. Other students were groaning while walking through the doors, the despair and boredom of a new year was already drifting in the air. Girls were screaming and hugging each other, while some of the guys were awkwardly greeting their friends with a handshake. As soon as I saw the yellow Beetle drive into the parking lot, a grin spread across my face and I ran down the steps to welcome my best friends. Kat smiled from ear to ear and pulled me into a warm hug. Anne adjusted her glasses before stepping towards me. She hesitated.
“Come on, Anne. I’m not infectious.” I said. She soon hugged me lightly, and I could feel her ribs against my body. Anne had been released from rehab only a few weeks before, after having an eating disorder and self – confidence issues. We had stopped talking after a while, because I tried to help her and force her to eat, but being stubborn Anne, she refused. We made up after she came out of rehab.
“I missed you.” Anne said quietly, and pulled away. Kat giggled and took me by the hand.
“Let’s go!” she grinned, and lead Anne and I inside the school. We were walking along the corridors only for a short while until we were stopped by Logan, Kat’s boyfriend. He took her by the waist and kissed her passionately. Logan had been dating Kat for three years now, and they were most defiantly in love. Unlike Zac and Tina, the head cheerleader and the jock, who had an on and off relationship.
“Charlie!” Aaron said, and gave me a noogie. Aaron had been my friend since we were three and in kindergarten. Even though we are now 17, we both still maintain a relationship. Sometimes people think we are dating, but not once have I thought of going out with Aaron. I fixed my fawn coloured hair back into place and ruffled his own. As our group walked down the hallways, Logan and Anna departed and went to their first class. Kat waved to me and walked into hers. It left me and Aaron alone together.
“So, how’s life?” I asked. He looked at me, and laughed like I had said a joke.
“Well, apart from entering another year in a hellhole, I’m fine. You?”
I elbowed him in the chest, and he smiled crookedly. He pushed me playfully, and I fell, dropping all my books on the floor.
“Need help?” asked a deep voice. Steven stood towering above me, holding out a hand. He pulled me up and picked up all my books. I could see a hint of jealously in Aaron’s eyes.
“I can literally feel the connection between you two.” Aaron said when Steven had walked away.
“Yeah, we’re going to get married and have six kids. I just know it.” I said sarcastically, and pushed past his shoulder into the classroom.

This is going to be a fun year.

More?? ;)

Everyone is like
"Omg Facebook! Chat to me on it!"
And I'm all like;

"...Club Penguin is cool?..."

Turtles are purple,
Pies are

Unicorns are

This poem does not make any sense,

Refrigerator.

I'm sorry.
I'm sorry
that i'm so clumsy all the time.
I'm sorry that my head is in the clouds.
I'm sorry I daydream.
I'm sorry I don't focus or concentrate.
I'm sorry I smile lots.
I'm sorry that I always get the butterflies.
I'm sorry that my heart beats too fast.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry that I am in love.
