chapter 4O

The following year when the babies’ could walk, Codie and I had a beautiful wedding in a rose garden. Our vows were the most heart felt words I’ve ever heard come out of anyone’s mouth ever. We went on a honeymoon to France right after. Jayden and Jessa stayed with my parent’s. Once the twins were about 7, and we were older we got pregnant again. Julie-Anna and Jamie-Lynn, both without middle names were born. We had twins again! What are the odds? They were identical twins though, I love having two sets of twins. Jayden grew to become an amazing yet very over protective big brother to all of his sisters. They have such a close relationship, it’s amazing. The kids were absolutely talented at everything they did. Jason didn’t bother us much more after he grew up, more. My brother is still active in everything I do, my dad tries to care and my mom, well she’s still my mom. Codie and I plan to stay madly in love for the rest of our lives, maybe we a few ups and downs, but this is going to last forever. And it all started with just one accident.

chapter 39

*1 and a ½ months later*

Codie and I are so excited, I’m huge though! The house is absolutely beautiful, every room has so much stuff in it, our yard is gorgeous. I woke up and started getting ready, “Wear something really cute!”, Codie yelled from the bathroom. “I am.”, I laughed. We’re going out to lunch for the first time in forever. We got into the car and pulled up at my parent‘s house, “What are we doing here?”, I asked. He ignored me and opened my door. I walked inside and everyone was there! Everyone! There was an incredible amount of pink and blue, everything. More than you could imagine. It was the best. “Surprise!”, everyone yelled out. I’ve been waiting for this for a while. We got everything we needed and wanted thanks to our amazing family and friends. That night after everything was in the house I was getting strong back pains, I thought it was because of all the moving of everything so Codie and I just relaxed. “Um, I don’t think this is good.”, I said looking at him. “Babe, wow, um you’re really pale, do you feel okay?”, he asked concerned. “Uh, I uh, I don’t know.”, I said feeling incredibly dizzy. He picked up the packed bags that we made before we sat down for whenever I decided to go into labor, only because twins are generally always born early. We figured we’d still have more time than this though, I’m only 8 months. He carried the bags in one hand and grabbed my hand with the other. I knew where this was going. I grabbed my favorite pillow in one hand with Codie’s in my other. I wanted to talk but I could hardly stand. Codie called the doctor once we were in the car and we were on our way. Our babies were born the next day. Jayden Mitchel was born first and a few minutes later Jessa Hope came into the world.

chapter 38

We said our goodbyes, and headed to the airport to get on our jet. “I like the way you sound in the morning, we’re on the phone and without a warning”, taylor swift’s song started playing. I picked up my phone, “Hello.”. “Hi, it’s Katherine. I have good news about your house, I had it inspected today with your brother he wanted to take care of it for you.”, our realitor said. “Oh, wow. That’s great!”, I said. “Yes, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the house, it’s in tip top shape. Your dad wrote a check, and everything’s ready for you two.”, she said happily. My jaw dropped, “Um, my dad paid for it all?”, I asked. “Yes, he paid the down payment.”, she replied. “Oh, okay! Thank you. When can we move in?”, I asked. “Whenever you want.”, she replied. We said goodbye and hung up. I was so excited I told Codie the great news and he kissed me. Once we got home I walked inside of my house and thanked my dad. It was great that he did that. Codie and I decided we should just move out now, so we did. I packed and we’re moving out. “I want to paint the nursery.”, I said looking at him walking through the room. “You? Or do you want someone to paint the nursery?”, he laughed. “I want someone else to!”, I replied. We agreed we should go with something neutral, due to our girl and boy. For a while we’re going to keep them in the same room, well until they sleep through the night. Then they’ll have their own room. We agreed on a lightish green color for the walls, later we went to Baby’s r us and picked out everything. Black cribs, with cute little black white decorations. Everything for our daughter will be pink and everything for our son blue, besides the room of course. Until they have their own. We talked for hours on names, and I think we’ve made up our mind.

chapter 37

I attempted to be helpful but I really wasn’t. So I spent most of the time at Codie’s with his parents and his little sister. She’s so adorable! At about 7ish, Codie was almost done. I needed to go see my family to though, so Codie told his mom we’d be back later. We called my brother and he picked us up in my Aunts car. When we showed up everyone surrounded us. “Oh my god!”, one of my aunts yelled out, “Look at the size of that rock on her hand!”. Codie and I both blushed. I got congratulated from so many people. We just hung out at their house for a while but we promised Sharon we’d stay there. And we well Codie needs to get a head start tomorrow. We have to be home for the next day because of our house appointment. I started getting tired and he could tell. “Hey let’s go back to my house, you look tired.”, Codie suggested. Jake heard us talking and offered to drive us to his house. Once we got there we went straight to bed. Let’s just say his twin sized bed is nothing compared to my king! But it’s what he wanted I guess. We layed down next to each other, I was against the wall and he layed on the outside, my head was on his chest. “I remember when we used to fit so comfortably on this bed.”, he reminisced. “Yeah, when we were like 6! And I wasn’t pregnant with twins”, I laughed. “It’s okay.”, he laughed. I fell asleep to the sound of his voice, I’m not sure what he was talking about. The next morning I woke up Codie wasn’t there. I forgot where I was for a minute. I haven’t woken up in this room in years! There was a note where Codie was, “Go downstairs, Sharon’s pancake time! (: “. I was so excited I love her pancakes! They’re the best. I went downstairs and found Codie. I sat next to him and ate our pancakes. He was done packing, I must have been asleep for a while.

chapter 36

I had Jake call my dad and find out if he could get us on our own jet, instead of having to find tickets that could take us forever and have all of us separated on the plane. My dad got one for us, and we were on our way once the taxi beeped outside. When we got to the jet it looked pretty boring. Since we gave him short notice he just got us whichever one he could. I sat next to Codie obviously and Jake had Kasey meet us at the air port. So we were all equally happy. Codie sadly got the window seat, I only agreed because I couldn’t lean on him if he didn’t. I didn’t get any sleep at all last night, but I made up for it on the jet. Even though it was a really short trip. Kasey and I both passed out but the guys just talked I guess. Once we got off we called separate taxi’s because Jake and Kasey were going to see our Aunt but I had to start packing with Codie, we’ll join them later. The taxi pulled up to Codie’s house. “Wow, all the memories. My bike riding down the street to your house, with our walky talky’s because you didn’t want someone to steal me.”, I giggled. “Well! It was a serious matter. I couldn’t let someone steal you!”, he smiled. His house was pretty big, but my new house is bigger. It’s brown and has a very nice big white porch around it. There’s a pool in the back. It’s really cute and nice. We got out of the taxi and knocked on the door. His little sister answered only because his mom was already looking out the window before we even got out of the taxi. “Oh my god! Desssty!”, she squealed. Ever since she could talk, I was Desty. I smiled, “Hi Ashley!”. I leaned down to hug her. “Wow, your belly is big!”, she said. “Yeah, well you’re gonna be an aunty real soon!”, I smiled. Codie was just watching our conversation. He loves how much we get along. “What are you guys doing here?”, Sharon asked. “I need to get my stuff mom.”, he said.

chapter 35

Once she was gone we both went straight upstairs. I don’t even think my parents are home. I had a new voice mail on the phone in my room. I walked over to it and listened. I was listening deeply. “Babe, who is it?”, Codie asked. I put my finger over my lips to silence him. “Hey sis, I’m sorry I didn’t call you earlier. It’s not my fault mom and dad didn’t tell you I was in jail. I’m going to be home real soon, don’t worry. I’m sorry I haven’t been around lately, but it’s going to change. Mom told me you’re having a girl and boy, congrats. Sis, I know you’re going to be a great mom. I love you and I will see you real soon. I’m on my way to see the judge. I love you, don’t forget it.”, Jake said. I started to cry. I miss my brother so much, we were so close but then my world came crashing down. I wish I was home to talk to him! None of this would have happened if I didn’t storm out. Codie wouldn’t be in any pain right now. Codie came up and wrapped his arm around me. “Who was it? What’s wrong?”, he asked. “It was Jake.. He said he will probably be home soon.”, I said. “Uh, you can stay home if you want. You don’t have to come with me.”, he said. “No, I’m coming shh.”, I laughed. I had to help Codie get ready because the doctor said he had to keep his bandage on for a couple days, or at least one. After he was done I handed him the remote and I supported his arm with a pillow. I kissed him, its been a while since I kissed him with all this drama. I jumped into the shower, well I didn’t jump. This stomach seems to slow everything down 3 and a half more months to go. Once I got out I blow dried my hair put on some mascara and eyeliner, threw on some sweats since we weren’t doing anything. Just plane and packing. Fun! We called a taxi once we were both ready. Just then Jake came home. “Jake!”, I screamed happily. (Even though Codie was on the phone.) He smiled so big and I hugged him tight. He kissed my forehead, “I’m sorry.”. “No, it’s not your fault. Don’t worry.”, I said. “What happened to Codie?!”, he asked. I explained everything and I told him we were going down to New Jersey. He said he didn’t want to be home with my parents so he’s coming with us. We have family down there too.

*2 hours later*

“Mom, how long are you staying here?”, Codie asked. He’s fine now, and we’re leaving the hospital in a couple of minutes. “Just for now. Maybe we can eat and then I’ll be on my way back home. I have work that needs to get done.”, she replied. “Okay, sounds good.”, he said. “Can I have a few minutes with Dess?”, he asked her. She agreed. I wonder what he wants to talk about.. “What’s up?”, I asked him confused. “Well, I need to get my stuff from New Jersey, I want you to come with me though. We don’t have much more time until the doctors don’t suggest you fly. So maybe we should go home with her.”, he said. “Yeah, babe. You don’t have to explain it to me, I understand.”, I smiled at him. “Can we bring her back to my place first though, the both of us need to change!”, I laughed. “Well, we could just surprise her.”, he said. “Alright sounds fine to me.”, I replied. I helped him put on his jacket so carefully. I didn’t want to hurt him. “Hey, Dess.. Can I have a hug?”, he asked with a huge smile. I hugged him around his waist. His arm was in one of the slashed casts, but only for the day. So the bandage doesn’t come undone. We went out into the waiting room, of course we were hand in hand. I mean when aren’t we. “I think we should go to bickfords!”, his mother suggested. “Yeah, that sounds good.”, I said. “What do you think Codie?”, we both looked at him. “Yeah, that’s fine, if you both want it.”, he said. We got into the car Sharon drove because it’d be really hard for Codie to. Well maybe not but still. We pulled up to bickfords and we ate. After she drove us home and we said our goodbyes as she called a taxi to go back home.

chapter 33

A little while after Codie fell asleep, I concluded there was no way I was getting any sleep. It’s to much stress. I got out of his little bed very carefully and quietly. Just then I got these sharp pains along my back. I couldn’t really walk anymore. There was a nurse right out the hallway, she thought I was going into labor. I told her I was only 6 and a half months pregnant and that there’s no way. We waited a couple of minutes and realized it was just a false alarm. Codie slept through it all, he’s really tired I guess. I walked out into the hallway it was about 9am. I took out my phone and called Codie’s mom. I told her everything that had happened. And she plans on taking the next plane up here, only because it was the fastest way. Codie might be mad but she needed to know. I went back into his room and turned on the tv, I was just channel surfing there wasn’t anything really on. I curled up on the recliner and I was dozing off when Codie opened his eyes a few hours later. “Dess..?”, he asked. I looked at him quickly, “Yeah, what is it?”, I said getting out of the chair. “Am I okay?”, he asked. “Of course you are. You just got a little hurt, that’s all. They needed to take the bullet out of you and bandage you up.”, I smiled at him. Just then Sharon walked in, his mom. “Oh my god, Codie, are you okay?”, she asked touching his arm. “Um, uh, yeah I’m okay.”, he said confused. “He’s on some drowsy medicine, he doesn’t really know what’s going on exactly. But he’ll be out of here real soon.”, I said looking at Sharon. She walked over to me and hugged me, “Thank you for being here for him. It means a lot.”. “It’s no problem at all.”, I smiled. She pulled back from the hug and touched my stomach. “I can’t believe you guys are having two babies!”, she said happily. The nurses came in, so we had to leave. They took him off his medications because the surgery couldn’t still be painful for him. He was getting discharged in a couple hours, after he got his memory back.
