The sad truth about today's society is we cannot talk to one another without being either hurtful or sarcastic. I cannot name a handful of people that I believe are genuinely nice to people. We hide ourselves behind computer screens and cellphones to say mean things to people that you would not say otherwise. In today's society we made it alright to be mean to people if they were mean to you. When I was a kid I was taught two wrongs don't make a right. In today's society we have made people think that it is normal to be a size 00 and if you are any larger you don't fit in. In today's society kids don't want to go to school because they fear their classmates' hazing. In today's society in order to have a voice, in order to be heard, I have to post anonymously to websites like this. Otherwise, no one will listen. The problem with people today is that they have forgotten how to respect each other. They've all turned into the monsters that we swore we would never become. I will not fall to their level, I will not follow their paths. I will create my own and in doing so I hope to inspire others to do the same. I will make something of myself because I am one of the teenagers who wish to prove to the world that we are not all bad. I am one of the teenagers stuck in a generation where I do not fit in. Hopefully, there are more like me. Otherwise, we are all doomed.
