I guess it's my screenname because it is also in a way my relationship status.
Single but Currently Enchanted :)
I write stories about love because I have not experienced love of my own yet, I write quotes on here occasionally, but I prefer to write stories. I don't do it for faves, so even if I get 0 faves, I will finish my story because like readers, I am waiting week to week to see what new ideas I can come up with. Comment if you want to talk, or you like what I write. I said I'm not in it for the faves, but it makes my writing feel purposeful if I get one.
Love you wittians. Girls and Boys.

Chapter 10
"What can you possibly have to say Cam?" I asked, trying to remain serious after our amazing kiss. I couldn't stay mad at him if I looked into his golden eyes.
"Maura. I like you. A lot."
"If that was true, then why did you wait to ask me out for a dare? Why wasn't I good enough for you to be with for real? Tonight. Tonight would've been all fake." I said choking back tears.
"Look at me," he said lifting my chin up in the palm of his hand, "you honestly don't know the effects you have on people"
There goes that phrase again.
You don't know the effect you have on people.
I was sick of guessing what this meant.
"WHAT IS THAT? First Jake, now you. What do you possibly mean?"
"You have no selfesteem Maura. You might be the most beautiful girl in school. You're so so smart, and you are nice to everyone. I was too afraid to go for you, because I assumed you were too good for someone as fake as me. I am your typical "popular" jerk. You are different Maura. Every guy knows that."
I sat pondering this. He couldn't be telling the truth.
"Cam, I have always really liked you. You know that. You're perfect in every single way."
I meant that.
"Maura can we start this off right?"I
I nodded my head.
"Will you go to Christmas formal with me?"
I smiled so wide!
"Of course Cam! I can't wait!"
"Perfect Maura! I can't wait either."
With that he kissed me, and we drove home.
I ran into my house and called Lauren. She should be first to know what went down since we planned everything together.
"Ring, Ring, Ring, Hey this is Lauren, Can't talk right now so please leave a message after the beep"
I hung up.
Now I had to call Kate.
Same response. Great. Who else to call? Jesse? He was too in love with Cam to tell now.
I only had Jake to call and I was too confused.
He had been texting me throughout my date with Cam. I never bothered to read them until now. Iopened the messeges one by one, but the last one scared me.
"Hey Maura, will you go to Christmas Formal with me?"

Who to choose? Jake, the nice guy, or Cam the dream date? Feedback:) #teamCam or #teamJake

Dear Girl who is crying over "being single at Christmas",

Yesterday, my grandfather passed away.  This Christmas will be the first year my Grandmother spent "alone" in 54 years. So remember to be greatful for what you have.

       Sincerely,
Life isn't always perfect

Chapter 9
I held hands with Cam on our way into the Country Club. His hands were so warm, and they felt perfect with mine in them.
We walked to the front desk and the hostess obviously found Cam beautiful. Who wouldn't find Cam beautiful?
"What's your name cutie?" She asked Cam, trying to use a sexy voice. It came off as desperate to me.
"It's Cameron. I'm here with my date Maura, and we'd like a table now please." He said sternly, no flirting. He was such a good actor, I could swear he was falling for me as hard as I was falling for him.
We sat down at a beautiful table for 2, candel lit.
"So Maura, I want to know everything about you. What's your favorite color? Favorite food? Who's your best friend?" He flashed me a charming smile, and made me feel like he cared.
"Hmm... Well my favorite color is purple, because I'm not a stereotypical girl, yet, I still love girly things. My favorite food is Cheerios. My mom is usually too busy with her work to make dinner, and I can't cook for my life so Cheerios are a good meal huh?" I said laughing, "My best friend will always be Kate. We've stayed with each other through everything in life and she'd do anything for me. I love Taylor Swift. She makes me feel like there's hope for me to find someone in this lonely world" I went on like that for a while, telling him about my childhood, my dreams, everything.
Why would I?
Because his deep golden eyes made me want to talk to him for hours. The way he looked at me like he care while I talked.
He told me about himself too.
He told me everything.
Then while he was speaking something set me off. Sitting in the corner by the door was Frankie. The girl who supposedly made a bet with Cam about dating me.
I got up in disbelief, threw my napkin that was placed on my lap on the floor, and walked out the door. I wasn't going to sit there and be made a fool of anymore.
He called my name out from behind me, and I heard him get up. I started running, running faster than my mascara had start to run. I heard his footsteps follow me but I honestly couldn't care any less. He was a jerk and there was only one person I wanted to talk to right now, Jake.
I was running past the car, and that was when I fell. Cam caught up to me and helped me up.
"What is that about Maura? Why are you crying though? Can you tell me what's going on?"
"Cam. You know why this is happening. You did this date to make a fool out of me. Why, I don't know? I never did anything to you. Then you ask me out as a BET?! Like what the hell? You know I've always liked you."
"Maura. What if I could tell you this bet was just an excuse to finally date the girl I loved? What if I was waiting for tonight for years? Let me explain this to you."
"Cam__ I don't know if i could trust y--"
That's when he leaned in and kissed me. We kissed for a couple of minutes. It felt amazing. It sent warmth running through all of my veins.
"Now can we talk Mar?"

Her life is just so confusing isn't it? Well I love writing but no one is reading. Please fave comment read anything? PLEASE<3 lol love ya

Chapter 8

I sat at my desk chair for little over an hour, letting Lauren dress me up like a doll.
After much hair pulling, face painting, and everything in between, I was finally allowed to see the dress Lauren wanted me to wear. She pulled out a big zippered bag, and did the big unvail. She made me close my eyes as I slipped it on before getting to see it. I opened my eyes to see a completely different girl staring at me. My usually limp blonde hair was in long beach waves, down to almost my waist. My pale skin had a slight glow to give me some color. But best of all, was the beautiful purple and black sequined dress that tied it all together. It shined ever time I took a step. I put on my signature flipflops, even though it was 20 degrees out, so that there'd be some part of me at this date.
"Oh my goodness, Maura you look SOOO beautiful! I wish I could look like you." "Lauren. You are the only reason I could ever look like this. EVER. I love you so much!"
I grabbed her in a tight hug, when my phone rang.
"Hey Mar. I'm on my way over. Can't wait to see you! -Cam"
Lauren grabbed my phone and read the text.
"Well if he still is putting on the prince charming act, you need to be the princess. Kill it tonight girl. You go downstairs and I'm going to get ready for my date with Zach tonight."
I gave her a quick hug and ran down the steps and waited for Cam on my front porch. I'll never let anyone know, but I was SO excited for tonight. I had been dreaming of a day Cam Staurt would take me out. Fake or Not.
A little quaint car pulled into my driveway. I took a deep breath as I walked over. Cam got out and opened the passanger door for me, and we both got in the car. "Wow Maura. You look absolutely beautiful tonight."
He looked stunning himself with his white button down and jeans.
"Thank youu. You don't look bad yourself." I said giggling.
He laughed that beautiful laugh and turned on the radio.
The song "White Horse" by Taylor Swift came on.
"We're going to go to the Country Club for dinner and dancing, if you don't mind." "That sounds absolutely wonderful" I said smiling at him.
We were quiet for a few minutes just listening to some music.
"I'm not your princess , this aint a fairytale, I'm not the one you'll sleep of her feet, lead her up the stairwell. This aint Hollywood, this is a small town. I was a dreamer before you went and let me down." Taylor Swift sang.
That was ironic how that song was so relatable to the situation.
It made me snap into reality. It must've shown on my face because Cam was staring at me intently.
"What's wrong Marr?"
I put on a fake smile and lied. "Oh, I'm just excited to finally be able to hang out with you."
We drove up to the Country Club. Let the date begin.

Short but the date is going to be a LONG chapter so I want some faves before I start hehe. Love ya girllies. Please share with your friends!

Chapter 7
I sat down on the edge of his bed and gave Jake my full attention.
"What do we need to talk about?"
"Maura, you have to promise me you won't go out with Cam." He said giving me a stern look.
"Why is that?"
"He isn't who you think. He is involved in a bet with Frankie. She bet him that you wouldn't be dumb enough to believe he'd like you, and he bet he was charming enough to trick anyone. Do you think Mr. Walsh picking Kate, Dylan, him, and you was a coincidence? Cam slipped him 5 dollars to make him do it, but made you partners with Dylan to make it less obvious. He knew Dylan liked Kate so he'd have time to shmooze you while they talked. All the facts play out, don't they?"
They all played out perfectly in reality, but my mind didn't want to think that possible. I was welled up with hatred and hurt at the moment. I just broke down like a little kid.
"Jake, I don't know what to do"
"I would stay away from him.Go for a guy who acutally cares about you" He grabbed me into a bear hug.
"I'm beginning to believe no one out there wants me."
He laughed.
That made me mad.
"It's not funny. You don't understand what it's like to go through life not having a single person ever want to talk to you. It's horrible."
"Maura. I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at what you said. You really don't know the effect you have on boys do you?"
There he goes again. Making lies.
He then leaned in and stole my first kiss. I felt every spark in my body light up. It was amazing, which just made me more confused.
I didn't want to love Jake, but I did.
"I have to g-g-goo" I said flustered.
He smiled at my back as I walked out of the room. I ran out his house and into my own. I sprinted up the stairs, shut the door, and screamed with excitement. I think I just found my first love.
My phone vibrated suddenly and I looked down to see my text.
"Hey Mar! I'm coming over now to help you get ready to set our plan to action tonight. Cam isn't going to know what hit him! xoxo Lauren"
Oh great.
My door rang and I let Lauren in. She had a ton of supplies with her.
"Let's get to work, eh?"

Chapter 6
I seriously didn't know what to do. I stood in the hallway for ten minutes, staring at the address written on my hand.
63 eighth street

How could I live so close to a person, and never know they were my neighbor? My house is 60 eighth street. I live like 2 houses across the street from him.
The bell rang, interuppting my train of thoughts. I had to go to study hall in Ms. Richard's room. She was really easy going so I doubted I even needed to show up, but I needed to stop thinking about Jake.
What did he mean when he said he'd "never treat a girl that way. Especially a girl like me?"
A loser? He'd never be mean to an ugly girl?
I walked into Ms. Richard's room and took a seat in the back corner. Never again would I sit in the front. Kate ran into the room with Dylan hanging on her left arm. They sat in the two seats to the left of me. I wonder if Dylan had the right intentions. I wasn't even sure if I should doubt Cam yet. Jake said all the perfect things, Cam said all surprising things. Who to beleive?
The way Kate was lost in conversation with Dylan made me realize she had NO idea about the Cam situation. She would have been very, very mad if she knew what might be going down. I figures since she wasn't paying much attention to me I might as well text Lauren and "plan" out what to do with Cam.
"Hey Laurie it's Maura. Plan time. Now"
I waited a good 30 seconds before getting a paragraph sent back.
"Okay here's the deal! You can't let Cam know that you know ANYTHING. You have to go looking hot. Like no jeans anymore. You are wearing my purple dress I wore to Mark's graduation party okay! I will come over and we will plan everything out. You can drop the bomb to him later on. Now you need to make him wish he never told anybody he didn't love you okay? And if he stands you up, I'll break his face."
Sounded like a simple plan. I could deal with that.
I started thinking about Jake again, and his gelled blonde hair, and perfect white teeth. He was too perfect, but I think that might be what I needed.
The rest of the school day went by as a blur. When I got home I changed into a really pretty violet crop top, and skinny jeans with flats. I scrunched my hair a bit and put on some makeup I had bought with Kate. I looked decent enough to go to Jake's house.
"Mom, I'm going out, I'll be back." I yelled while I opened the door.
No response. Typical from my workaholic mom.
I ran into the winter breeze over to Jake's house. I really should have put on a jacket.
I got up to the door, and after much debating, I rang the bell.
A familiar face opened the door.
"Hey Maura! What brings you over?" Said Mrs. Collins my algebra 2 teacher.
Jake Collins. I am so stupid not to be able to think that one through.
"I'm here to see Jake," I said smiling at her.
"Oh he's upstairs go on up!"
I walked past her into their warm house and walked up the stairs. I went to the only door that was closed in the hall, assuming it would be his room.
I took a deep breath as I entered.
"Hey Maura!" Jake said laying down on his bed throwing a ball at the ceiling.
"Hi Jake..." I said standing awkwardly by the door.
"Sit down Mar. It's time to talk"

Hmm... talk? about what? What will Maura do? I'll post later tonight<3 Feedback rocks:) So does requests? I'd love to hear from ya

Chapter 5
I was crying in the bathroom for like 10 minutes, when Lauren came in saying my first period teacher, Mr.Carter, was looking for me.
"We are starting notes on the Civil War so he wants you to come back... Hey! Maura what's wrong!? Why are you crying?"
I looked in the mirror to see how obviously upset I was before responding.
"I huh-huh-heard Jake say Kuh-Kuh-Cam is go-go-going out with me as a buh-buh-bet" I said through tears.
Lauren just gave me a big hug and let me cry into her shoulder. "Well Maura, we are going to have to get him back aren't we? We can plan at lunch, but you have to promise not to let Cam know you are in on his plan, okay?"
I nodded my head, knowing I wouldn't have the guts to confront him anyway.
"I'm going to tell Mr.Carter you don't feel well and just need a breather to give you time. Don't worry, Mar, we'll get through this together!"
I gave her a weak smile as she left our embrace and walked out of the lav.
I decided to walk in the halls to clear my mind a bit, but I was still partially crying. I went to my locker and sat on the ground crying. I thought I was alone, being that first period just started, but I was wrong.  A voice came from behind me and I tried to hault my tears for a minute to turn around and face whoever was there.
"Hey shouldn't you get to class before you get in tr-- What's wrong with you?"
It was Jake. Great. He was an A-, B+ social member. I never gave him more than a second glance, and I never heard him speak until today, when I heard him drop the bomb.
"Ohh, nothing, just ummmm, alergies." I tried to say casually, but I chocked on my tears as I talked.
"You're definitely not that alergic to anything. Nothing in the enviornment in 1st period changed"
He wasn't going to give up was he?
"Let's just say I heard something you said." I said glaring at him.
He stopped to think for a second, and then his mouth dropped.
"Y-y-you heard me?! Oh Maura, you weren't supposed to know! Please don't get mad at me. Cam is a jerk. I would never treat a girl like that. Especially a girl like you."
"How do you know this is a bet? Why can't something go right for me for once? Just once. I was waiting on this FOREVER!" I broke down crying into Jake's shoulder, even if I didn't trust him completely.
"Maura, even the best fall down sometimes. You are beautiful! You're like the apple at the top of the tree, that is the tastiest but you haven't found the guy who was brave enough to venture up yet."
I laughed through my tears, "I'm so pathetic you need to use Drake quotes at me? hahah-cry-ahha"
He lifted my chin, "Maura. Don't doubt yourself. You don't realize the impression you can make on a guy. I hope you know you always have me to cry on. I want you to come over my house tonight okay, we need to talk."
He wrote his address on my hand as I just nodded like a starstruck idiot.  I had no idea what I was going to do...

I want to let the drama begin. Can't wait to dive into it hehe<3 Feedback? & tell your friends to read! Love you who care<33

Chapter 4
I needed to do something to prepare myself for my date with Cam. As soon as I left the cafeteria, I went home to start plotting.
I immediately texted Kate needed help from someone with more experience in the dating category than I.
About 10 minutes later my doorbell was ringing 500 times a minute.
That was definitely Kate.
She let herself in when her finger got tired as usual, and ran up my staircase into my room.
"I got here as fast as I could" I was able to make out through her huffing breath.
"I need your help. We need to pick what to wear, how to style, coaching on what to say, the works."
Kate looked at me and smiled.
"You called the right girl Maura!"
An hour later I found myself in the local mall.
We were standing at one of those maps positioned by the door.
Kate took her role as the prep team seriously, and studied the map with great interest.
"Okay. Here's the deal: We are hitting Forever 21 for your outfit, Sephora for your makeup, the Beauty Parlor for your hair and nails, and Macy's your heels."
This went from a fun trip, to a job.
"Oh shut up Maura! You love the attention, let's get to work!"
We ran to Forever 21 where I had to try on the WHOLE store. I'm not even exaggerating. After tough deliberation, Kate and the Fitting Room attendant decided on a cute tight fitting pair of jeans, a long sleeve shirt covered in lace on the back, and a few accessories with splashes of color to tie the look together.
At Sephora I got a free makeup tutorial that completely transformed my pale, freckly face, into a slight sunkissed beach girl. Maybe I could pull of a Florida look after all.
I got acrylic nails at the salon, and a pair of plain black pumps Macy's. I was exhausted.
Beauty doesn't come cheap, but hopefully it payed off tomorrow night."
I went to school the next day, trying out my new makeup. Surprisingly I got more attention from the guys then usually. I didn't know how to handle this so I kind of just let it slide past me with little thought. I walked past Cam's locker and he flashed me a grin, that I returned.
I walked to first period and sat down in the front for a change. I wasn't noticed and what I heard behind me killed me.
I calmly walked out of the room and to the girl's bathroom where I broke down crying.

What could Maura have heard? I think I'm getting to the plot too quickly so that's why I am dragging out her getting ready and small details like that. I love you who read and feedback would make my night:)
