she's waiting
for
something
she doesn't know what,
he's up, she's down, they're stuck in a rut.
she days they're fine, others they're not.
where is the love? they both forgot.
the feeling of emptiness won't go away,
even when he says he's here to stay.
crying, lying, they're not even trying.
fighting, lonliness, she feels like dying.
she remembers the beginning when things were sweet.
he sent butterflies through her, head to feet.
she just wants him back to how he was before
her, him, and their love, nothing more.
she misses the kisses,
sweet bedtime wishes
when he only loved her,
and of that he was sure.
she's waiting for him everyday.
"hey beautiful", she wishes he'd say.
she'll keep hoping he'll come around
then her life will be sweet and sound.
she thinks back to when they used to say:
"I'll leave you never, You and I, Together
Forever."
Shy boy
blowing a kiss
to the little miss.
her cheeks blush red,
he's been the only thing in her head.
young love, how long will they last?
time is flying past.
high school, college, older now.
still in love, no one knows how.
engagement ring, wedding date,
they believe their meeting was fate.
rocking babies, rocking chairs,
together with no worries, no cares.
moving to the nursing home,
kids are all grown.
everlasting love, for awhile,
still never failing to make each other
smile.
Sunday morn'
the baby is born.
Precious and sweet,
this happy feeling can't be beat.
Ten fingers, ten toes,
everything where it goes.
Daddy rocks her in the chair,
playing with her golden hair.
Mama says, "We are blessed",
as she holds the baby to her chest.
"Tiny baby, so content,
like a little piece of heaven sent."
Beautiful
girl with the upturned face,
too many scars that time cannot erase.
She walks around with a great big smile,
no one knows she's been hiding this secret for awhile.
Fooling her teachers and friends,
her pain and suffering never ends.
Coming home to an abusive household,
one child's story will never be told.
She cries out in pain as she holds the knife,
tonight she will take her own life.
Beautiful girl, no more torment no more tears,
up there in heaven,
you'll have
no fears.
