It's when you Wake up in the middle of the night and you cannot move at all, only your eyes. It's only happened to me a few times but each time it was absolutely terrifying because you see scary stuff like demons in your room and hear frightening noises. Usually it only lasts minutes but it can last up to hours. It's really scary and I wouldn't recommend putting yourself in that situation, even for Lucid Dreaming. The only times I get it is when I fall asleep on my back (I don't do that anymore lol).
If you go into sleep paralysis it would most likely depend on how easily you get scared, so if you don't get scared easily you won't find sleep paralysis that scary. and you're not bothering me at all (:
Before you go to bed, make sure that you're tierd & worn out, I would normally have a drink of water, milk, or orange juice, now when you're in bed lay in a postition that's on your back, don't move. Idk if it would work with you, it may take a while for you. If you 'wake up' but you're not sure if you're still dreaming try hitting your wall or something. If you wake up and you can't move just try wiggling your toes or fingers. :)
Yes it was really bad though. And I'm terrified of needles too! I needed it to see if the nerves in my hand were working right, doctors thought they were compressed but they weren't.
