She may come across as hard to
get,
but that's because she's been through
a few things, seen a few things, been
there and done that. She's cold...yes,
but it's only because she cared about
someone who failed to care for her.
She's built a fortress to protect her
heart from further damage. You told
her that you're different, but she won't
believe it until you prove it. Words don't
mean a thing. Actions are
everything.
If I tell you I'll be there,
I'll stick to my
words.
I'll be there
for you when you're at your weakest.
I'll try my best to pick you up when you're
down.
I'll listen to what you have to
say. I'll lend you a
shoulder to lean on, and I
promise I won't walk
out of your life without a reasonable explanation.
I know what it's like to have someone tell
you
they'll always be there for you, but ends up
leaving when times get rough.
So I'm here to prove,
Compassion still
exists.
Do
you ever feel like you aren't really
here?
Like your life is not happening to you, but
to someone else, and you are just watching it from a
distance,
like a movie projected onto a screen in your head? I feel
like that a lot of times. Sometimes I feel like my
life is a dream...and not even my own dream, but
someone else's, and I'm tempted to
say that I am
acting out a part...but really when I think about it,
it's more like I'm watching this dream, and
things
are just happening to this person that supposed to be me,
and I am
somewhere
else.
I used
to feel so alone in the city.
All those gazillions of people and
then me, on the outside.
Because
how do you meet a new person? I was
very stumped by this for many years.
And then I realized, you just say
"Hi." They may ignore you. Or
you
may marry them. And that
possiblity
Is worth one
word.
