Vampire Heart
Chapter 1
I rummaged around in the drawer of my bedstand,
searching for the only thing that ever mattered to me. It was
really hard to even see where I was going, let alone find a razor
blade with these contacts in. Frustrated, I quickly walked into the
bathroom across the hall. I reached into my pocket to get my
contact lens case, then tossed it onto the counter beside the sink.
I quickly unscrewed the lids then popped out my contacts and
dropped them into to case. I stuffed the case in my pocket then
turned on the facet and rinsed my face off. I then reached over to
grab a towel and dried my face. I then caught my reflection in the
mirror. I looked at my horrid bright green eyes lined with
thick black eyeliner. Breaking my gaze from my eyes, I stepped back
to examine myself further. I wasn't skinny but I wasn't
fat, I was freakishly tall, 6ft 5in. Scars lined my arms and wrists and a
pewter pentagram hung around my neck. Hating my image in the
mirror, I turned to exit the bathroom. I walked into my dark room
and sat on my bed. I then opened my drawer and dug around some
more. Finally I found my favorite blade. Just then I heard
something move in the bathroom. I jumped up and raced back to the
bathroom. A rat was sitting on the sink. Disgusted, I picked up the
rat by the tail and ran down the stairs. I threw open the door then
hurled the rat as far as I could. Slamming the door behind me, I
returned to the bathroom. I washed my hands then glanced up in the
mirror. I gasped. Instead of looking back at green eyes, I was met
by brown eyes...the exact same color of my contacts
I wore to hide my hideous green eyes. I moved my hand to my face to
make sure I had removed my contacts. I only ended up poking my
eyeball. My mind flickered back to a book I had read about
vampires. I had read that vampires, when faced with light, their
eyes would darken to protect the vampire from going blind.
"Ha...the book was right, I guess." I
silently murmured to myself. I had been turned into a vampire when
I was 9. Pushing my mind away from my tragic past, I focused on
forcing my eyes to turn to the horrid green again. My iris
slowly started to swirl into a dark mix of the current brown and my
natural green. A few moments later, my eyes were back to normal.
Wanting to continue my newfound talent, I forced my eyes to quickly
change to brown. They quickly flashed bright green then melted into
brown. Interesting, I thought to myself. I then made them
green again. Finally bored with looking at my eyes, I went
back into my room. I opened my laptop and turned on some Marilyn
Manson. I laid on the bed, clad in a Motley Crü t-shirt and black cargo pants, thinking about
life. Soon my mind was on what happened four years ago. A tear
traveled from my eye to my cheek. I thought of my Grandmother's
sweet, wrinkled face, my mother's kind, loving face and my
father's rough and caring face. I was 9 at the time. It was
Christmas morning and I had woke up at 6 am. I was so excited for
presents that I woke my mother and father up. They didn't mind
being woken up early and decided we should go up to my grandmothers
house for Christmas. We arrived at 6:19. No one answered the door
so we let ourselves in. The scent of blood greeted us when we
walked in.
"Richard, do you smell that? What is it? It smells like
blood!" My mothers eyes grew wide as she asked my father, who
looked as bewildered. My father put an arm around my mother and
kissed her forehead.
"Im sure she's just preparing
breakfast and the smells are mixing." He said, but he
didn't seem to sure. Impatiently, I decided to go into the
kitchen from which the smell was coming from. I slowly walked down
the dark hall and then turned down to the stairs. I stepped off the
last step and entered the kitchen. It was pitch black. I heard a
weird slurping sound. I felt around the doorway for the light
switch. I flipped it on. The light revealed a puddle of blood and
in the middle was a figure holding my grandmother, her head twisted
to the side. I gasped. The figure pulled away from grandmother and
dropped her to the floor. It was a tall man with long glistening
fangs with blood dripping from his mouth. I screamed. I started
running up the stairs. I finally reached the top and found my
parents waiting for me.
"The man with fangs killed grandma!!!" I screamed at
them. They exchanged glances and ran down the stairs. Tears started
pouring down my cheeks and I screamed for them to come back. Then I
heard bloodcurdling screams of my mother and father. I raced
down the stairs and saw my mother's body lying beside my
father's and grandmother's body. I didn't see the man anywhere. Suddenly I was picked
up from behind and my head was bent to the side. I then felt fangs
pierce my neck. Tears flooded my eyes but I made no sound. I was
flooded with pain, sadness and now fury. I was furious. Furious
because this man demon creature killed my only family. Furious
because he indented to kill me. I kicked him and punched him.
Finally he let go. I took the chance and raced into the
kitchen. I threw open the drawer and grabbed the biggest knife I
could find. I turned it over in my hand. There was a stamp on
it that read PURE SILVER. I finally got the courage to run back to
the man and I planned to kill him. I started running as
fast as I could. I saw the man standing infront of the stair case. He looked ready to grab me,
this only made me run faster to him. I raised the the knife and
slammed it into his chest. His jaw dropped and blood poured out of
his mouth. There was a creepy hissing noise coming from him. In a
matter of seconds he had turned to ash. I dropped to my knees. I
gained enough strength to crawl over to my mother and father.
Father was already gone, but mother was breathing, but only a
little.
"Mom.." Tears started pouring down my cheeks. " I
love you so much. Please don't leave me!!!"
"My precious Ivy,...I love you." She whispered as her
eyes slowly fluttered shut. Her chest stopped moving. She was gone.
Dead. Dead and gone.
The scene replayed in my mind. I wished I could've died with
them, instead of turning into this horrid freak. Tears poured
down from my eyes. I turned over and fell into a deep
sleep.
Its longer than I expected and if you
read the whole thing, thank you. Ive had this in my
mind for a while and never got it out. I plan to make a story with
it. Any Ideas?
