Is it bad to change?


My life used to be very messed up and now it's good and happy, but I can't change. On social sites, even here on witty, when I post soemthing happy or funny it goes unnoticed but when I post something sad or depressing it gets so, so many notes. I want to change and be happy and show people "hey I like my life now" but when I do it goes unnoticed. I don't want attention but I would at least like something to show that me being happy matters.

     Ok so today I found out that this girl I was supposedly friends with hates my guts and talks about me a lot. Normally I wouldn't care about something like that but I dont know, this just reall hurt me. I've seen this girl hurt one of my best friends very badly (she would spread rumours and made up a name for my friend so she could talk about my friend in front of her wiothout my friend knowing) and ridicule my sister for self-harming, also she says go kill yourself as a joke.
     She has done so many bad things towards me, my sister, and my friends but I can't help but feel sad and angry about it. I have known her for 2 years now and for the 1st year I didn't talk to her much except for the fact that she talked with my friends, now this year we have had so many classes together and spent a lot of time together and talked a lot. We laughed about movies, laughed at jokes, gossiped about boys, and did cool friend stuff.
     Now after 2 years of knowing each other and 1 year of being very close, I have learned that the entire time she has gossiped about me, spread lies, makes up things I did to her, and she is now univiting me to her sweet 16 because I didn't invite her to mine (I didn't know her at the time), I have been mean to her (in 2 years I have only spoken back to her 2 times, once about her saying go kill yourself and the other about her making fun of sister), and because I told my best friend about the bad things that was being said about her. 
     I don't know what to do. I want to confront her so badly but we only have 1 week of school left (finals) and I have no idea how. I also learned that other people do not like this girl as well and that she has been mean towards others as well. I want to ask them to help me confront her but I am scared that they will say no and it will be only me but someone needs to put her in her place. Someone needs to make her realize that what she is doing is not ok and is very, very harmful.
     Any advice? It would be greatly appreciated.

*I was sick and doctor says have only soup for the next 24 hours*
Mom- Ok I don't have any soup at home for you take from home and the school doesn't have soup so I'll bring you something from Panera
Me- Alright, could I have either chicken noodle soup or baked potato, whichever one they have.
Mom- ok

*Lunch time comes and I go to office to get the food*
Staff- You're food is on the bench honey
Me- Thank you!

*Goes to cafeteria*
Friend- What is in the bag?
Me- Let's see

*Opens bag to discover entire panera in it, 2 soups, grilled cheese, brownies, and bag of cookies*
All Friends- Oh my god
Me- *Becomes Jesus and feeds the people*
