She stared at me in disbelief. I
congratulated her with a hug then we both went to bed. Amy
didn't sleep until 2:30am, because she was texting Joey all
night. I'll admit, it bothered me. I've always had a
crush on Joey McClain, and there was my best friend, texting him
all night long, every text ending with 'love you'. She
kept gasping and saying, "Aww! He just said I was the most
beautiful girl ever!". The only thing that keeps me thinking
is if he thinks shes beautiful, why hasn't he ever had the
courage to ask her out before? Anyway, so I got up at 7:30am the
next day. Amy was in the bathroom. I needed to go and take a
shower so I knocked on the door. "Amy, can I use the shower
please?" I asked. She immediately came out of the bathroom.
I stared at her, mouth wide open. She looked completely
different. For a moment I actually wondered if she was a
different girl. Her hair was tied in a side pony and she had
secured it with black satin ribbons. She had put black eyeshadow
all round her eyes and she was wearing a black choker with silver
spikes on it. She was wearing black lipstick and dark purple
blush. She even stuck some fake tattoos on her arms! She was also
wearing a black tank top. To complete the outfit she had a black
skirt with criss-cross tights and black boots. She was completely
goth. Yesterday she was a cute little emo girl. Now she had
transformed into some punk. "Amy, what happened to
you?!" I said. "I had a makeover!" she replied,
grinning and striking a pose. "But.. why?" I
questioned. "Duh. To impress Joey!" she said giggling.
"To impress Joey?! Are you joking?! He asked you out because
he liked you for the way you were. He likes the emo side of you,
not the goth side!" I said. "How do you know? He's
never seen my goth side" Amy said. "That just proves my
point. You could destroy your chances of being with him if you
dress like that!" I said. She whipped me with her ponytail.
"You're just jealous because you dont have a
valentine" she said, then she walked out the room. I glared
at her from behind. "I'm not gonna let this ruin
valentines day for me" I told myself, and I got ready for
school. When I got there, Amy had stuck a piece of paper on my
locker saying, 'I've swapped rooms with Bethany Hughes.
Shes your new room mate now!' I looked at it for a second,
rubbed my eyes then looked again. I knew my eyes werent deceiving
me. Amy Johnson wasn't my best friend anymore.

I've just finished reading 'My Sister Jodie' by Jaqueline Wilson. It was amazing. On the back of the book it says a 'tragic' event occurs on Bonfire Night. I was so excited. It was a great book! Jodie was a rebellious teenager who had a younger sister named Pearl. Pearl was the main character and Jaqueline had written the book in the first person, so it was from Pearl's POV. The two sisters were best friends forever. They were like best friends. Pearl had always been shy, anxious and worried at Moorcroft, and Jodie had always been the leader. But then their mum & dad chose to move to a boarding school called Melchester College. Jodie was teased alot and didn't fit in with all the posh teenagers in her class, whereas Pearl had made lots of new friends like Harley, Clarissa and Harriet. Jodie and Pearl had lived in a flat by Melchester because their parents had got jobs there. This means they were there for the summer. Harley was also there. Then they discovered the attic, and the tower room.Pearl and Jodie had also met 3 children named Sakura, Zeph and Dan. Anyway, so when the new term started and fireworks night came, the tragic event happened. Jodie had described a ghost called the 'sad white whispering woman' previously in the story. She tried to make everyone believe that she was real by going up to the tower while the fireworks started and she dresed up like a ghost. Everyone thought she was really a ghost, except Pearl. Everyone was screaming and crying, especially Dan. Dan was so scared and he thought the ghost was going to get him. He threw himself to the ground. Jodie had seen him do that, and she opened the window of the tower (the tower was very high). She tugged at her shawl to reveal her hair. She exclaimed that it was only her. Unfortunately, Jodie tugged her shawl too hard. She slipped and stumbled right out of the tower, landing on the floor with a loud thump. She broke her neck and died tragically.
Thats how tragic it was. I wasn't expecting it. Plus, I had felt like I knew the characters, and that they were my friends. I was heartbroken when I found out what happened to Jodie. I've been crying since I found out. Will anyone give me some advice, something that will cheer me up? I want to forget all about her death, and only remember her as she was alive :( So if you have any advice that will cheer me up, please post it in the comments. Thanks!
