Hi, how have you been lately?

Oh my gosh, totally following you for being Esteban!

That's scary! I keep my nails short because of that. When I started playing string instruments I needed short nails so I was used to it by then.
What have you been up to? I am having friends over tomorrow for a bonfire so we can hang out one last time before school starts. We start on Monday, I think that's way too early. People in neighboring towns don't start til September 4th.

That's awful! I don't know what triggered mine, but I just know I spent quite a few nights of my childhood bawling as quietly as possible so my parents wouldn't hear. I told them once and they just laughed them off as nightmares. I hated that they didn't believe me so I kept my demons to myself.

I used to have crazy night terrors as a child, I hated going to bed because of that. They eventually stopped out of no where so I'm really grateful to whatever made them stop, I don't know where I'd be if I still had them.

I think I may have insomnia because I seriously can't sleep. When I do sleep, I can't stay asleep long which is annoying! I haven't told my parents because I don't want them to put me on sleeping meds. I'm not sleepy but I might take a nap so I can function tomorrow, my mom wants to go to the store so I should try to act human instead of walking like a zombie.

I think I'm going to finish typing a few pages of my homework before I can play my bass again, that should motivate me. I am not going to sleep tonight anyway, so I have plenty of time to get stuff done.

The book "Fat Kid Rules he World" about that fat drummer we were talking about.
So my brother, dad, and I went to get my bass today. I've been looking at tabs for Mama and Famous Last Words because those are pretty easy. Once I understand the frets more I will touch up on my bass clef reading because I am rusty. I love it, I'm having fun. I shouldn't focus too much on the bass though because I seriously need to get my summer assignments done!

Drummers aren't always fat hehe. I finished the end of the book last night and it was so sad. Then again, I am PMSing waaaaaay more than usual so everything makes me want to cry. It's freaking me out because I've never felt like this before. Grr.

Fingers just seem like the way to go. I don't even know how to hold a pick anyway.
Have you ever read the book Fat Kid Rules the World? It's my K.L. Going and it's about a kid named Troy who is super self-conscious because he is overweight. Then he meets someone who is legendary for being a high school drop out that kicks on guitar so they decide that Troy should learn to play the drums so they can me a punk band. It's not the best book but I think it's hilarious, but kind of sad because of Troy's sh/tty self esteem.

I think it will all come down to what sounds best once I get better and figure out what kind of stuff I'd like to play. I really would rather play with my fingers because that makes way more sense, but I'm curious about picks. I like to try things before I decide if they suck or not. I like the sound of fingers better though. I once saw a dude playing with only two fingers and it looked like his hand was walking on the strings!

I'm familiar with tabs but I prefer to read notes on a staff.
So I was reading online and apparently people who play bass with a pick aren't "real" bass players. I think that's odd. I want to learn to play with my fingers and with a pick, I think faster notes likes sixteenth notes would sound good with a pick while longer notes sound deeper with fingers. I'm getting too excited, I already added some picks and two pick holders to my wish list on Amazon. I'm getting ahead of myself!

My brother may take me somewhere else to look for basses even though I loved the Ibanez one I tried, it was awesome!
I think my dad is going to support my decision to teach myself, but my mom doesn't want me to even get a bass because she thinks I want her to pay for lessons. I want to learn as much as I can based on what I already know from being involved with music for ten years and from playing the violin for seven of those years.
How old were you when you started playing the drums? I don't remember if I've asked you before.

I didn't care that he did drugs, I just didn't like him because he was such an . I only tolerated him because he was like a brother to my friend, and you can't really tell someone "yo I hate your is an a-hole" without really offending the person.
I don't really care if people do drugs as long as they don't freak out on me for being sober. I don't even take over the counter stuff when I'm sick because I get killer headaches so I can't imagine how sh/tty I'd feel taking other stuff.
I'm close to convincing my mom to let me get the bass but she says that if she helps me pay for it, I'll have to lay in my church. I really don't want to play in church, but if that's the only way for me to get it, I will. She thinks it's easy to just pick up a bass and play. I'll need to practice before I can play there, sucking at playing church music during mass would practically be blasphemy. I was looking at tabs and when I was looking for the seventh fret I literally said "1 2 3 4 5 6 7! There it is!" while dragging my finger along the frets. Obviously, I need practice.
I can play with three fingers on the fret board, my pinky doesn't reach because it's tiny . I also learned how to do slides while I was in the store, my dad was impressed.

No, I didn't like the guy. I knew him through a friend, but I don't talk to either of them anymore because my friend moved so I kinda lost touch with them.
Also, ten years ago today, Bullets came out! I was super excited so I made my dad take me to Guitar Center so I could check out basses. I played a bit of Mama and the girl that was helping me freaked out because she recognized the song and loves MCR too.

I do know what it means, I'm just wondering how you know that. I only know because I used to hang with this one dude that had a friend who was into that kind of stuff. Otherwise I never would have known.

I should be scared because you know that, but I'm not . I'm oddly fascinated.

You should semi-protect me, I think junkies would be fun to talk to. Just keep me away from their drugs!

My mom wants to make my brother take me to the concert. He's always like. "no junkies are going to stab their drugs in me!" He says that to scare my mom and to make her say no but she knows that concerts are as safe as any other place. He's just being protective but ugh.
We're opposites then, percussion makes no sense to me. I could stare at a drum all day and not know where to hit it to make the right notes come out.
