Hopeless Dreaming
Chapter 23
As the days went
by, Jacob and I grew closer, Hope's belly got bigger, I was
given more drawing projects, I was doing great in school, and we
started setting up our house for when the baby comes. I thought
to myself, "I couldn't be living a better life."
Nearing the end of my junior year, I started thinking about
colleges. Should I go to college and gaurentee a good career? I
should I stay back from school to help Hope and pray that my
drawing career would support me for a while. I didn't
know.
Hope reminded me that the big day was coming up and asked if
there was anything else we needed to get. I responded, "I
don't think so. Just my best friend getting ready to step up
as a mommy." She gave me a weak laugh and said,
"I'm nervous and excited at the same time." I
smiled and said, "I know that you'll be a great
mommy!"
"Thanks Maddie, I just hope everything goes okay." She
said. "Well you've got me, Jake, and you parents for
support." I responded.
"So have you thought of a name yet?" I asked.
"Well I really like the name Nick." She said.
"That's a really cute name!" I said with a smile.
"I really want you to pick his middle name." She
assured me. "Thanks so much. It's an honor." I
laughed and suggested the name Christian because it has
'Christ' in it and God has always been there to support
Hope and I through all our problems. She said, "Then
it's settled. Nicholas Christian."
"I really love his name. Definitley gonna be a special
kid!" I said with a smile. He really was gonna be a
special kid. He's like the factor that changes us from teens
to adults. That makes us more responsible and most importantly,
proves that teenage mothers can actually be great parents.
Sorry i've been ubeerr busy lately! thanks for

Hopeless Dreaming
Chapter 21
I could see Hope reading a text
message. She handed me her phone and told me to read the text
message from Sean. I skimmed through it and it said something
about when he can sign the papers over for that mistake. I felt
horrible when I read all of the horrible names he called her and
that he called Hope's baby a mistake. She was
devastated. I gave her a big hug and never let go. I whispered in
her ear, "Everything's gonna be okay. You wouldn't
want someone like him in your baby's life anyway." She
didn't say anything because she was too caught up in
tears. I helped her to her bed and sat with her for a while. She
finally fell asleep but I think it's only because her body
needed to shut down for a while after going through hours of
tears. Jacob walked over quietly and whispered, "Wanna go
to bed now? I'll be waiting." I rested Hope's
head on her pillow and tip towed away. I hopped in my bed to find
Jake already asleep. I fell asleep right away.
I woke up to a beautiful breakfast in bed made by none other then
Jacob. He said he wanted something nice for me since I've had
a lot going on lately. I thanked him and insisted that he
shouldn't have done anything for me. Today was mostly a
boring day- just unpacking boxes after boxes. At around noon my
mom called to check in and ask if we needed any help. I told her
we were almost done and everything was going well. I left out the
part about the text Hope got. I realized that someone would have
to pay for all of the baby supplies because nobody had any money.
I was too busy for a job, Hope wouldn't have time, and there
wasn't any money coming from the father like most families. I
was trying to think of a solution...
Hopeless Dreaming
Chapter 20
I woke up to a
vibrating phone. Hope's text said, Doctors appt
today. Wanna come? Hoping to find out if its a boy or a
girl! I replied, Of course! I'll see you
there! I scarfed down a quick piece of toast and hopped
in my car. I drove to the doctors office to find Hope already
sitting in the waiting room. I said, "You nervous? I'm
excited!" She replied, "Nope." With a somewhat
nervous smile. "Hope?" A nurse called. We both jumped
up and walked in. She started the same routine as last time and
an image started to fade onto the monitor. "There's the
head, and theres its two little feet!" Said the nurse.
"Any guesses on the gender?" I shouted,
"BOY!" Hope agreed with me. The nurse said, "Yup
you guessed right! The due date should be sometime in mid
June." I grabbed Hope's hand and said, "I can't
wait. This is gonna be great." Hope smiled and said, "I
hope so." We thanked the nurse and left. I told Hope how I
was meeting with Jake but I wished I could stay with her. She
told me to go and have fun and that I've done enough for her
today. I thanked her and left.
When I got to Jake's house, I walked in and gave him a hug.
He gave me a warm welcoming kiss and led me to the couch to sit
down. He pulled me on his lap and we had a moment in eachothers
arms. The feeling was amazing. I told him about
Hope's appointment and made him guess if it was a boy or
girl. He guessed right and asked if she had picked out names yet.
He suggested naming the baby Jacob after him but I knew he was
joking. We both laughed and he said, "How did a guy like me
get so lucky to have a girl like you?" I said in a soft
voice, "By just being you." He gave me a kiss and
wrapped his arms around me. I asked him if he would help Hope and
I move next weekend and he cheerfully responded yes. I figured
Jake and I would be doing most of the heavy lifting because Sean
wasn't here to help and we didn't want Hope to do a lot
with her baby.
Two Weeks Later-
Moving Day
I got up extra early because I was excited to move out espically with my best friend- just the two of us. The moving truck, Hope, and Jacob all arrived at roughly the same time. Jacob and I moved out the couch and my bed while Hope packed boxes with little thinks like pictures and other basic things. She offered to help carry heavey things but I declined. We finished everything in my room and I said goodbye to my mom and sister. I promised I would stop by every week and call as often as I could. When we got to our new living space, we decided it was getting late, so we set up the table and ate a quick sandwich. Jacob offered to set up the beds so we wouldn't have to sleep on the floor tonight. He insisted so I said yes. We all decided to go to bed because we were exhausted from all of the heavy lifting we did today. Hope started to burst out crying and I ran over to her. "Oh my God. How could he do this to me." She said.
Hopeless Dreaming
Chapter 19
I hopped in my car after finishing
my last piece of homework and left a note for my mom telling her
where I was going. When I got to her house, I knocked on the
door and she came running out. She gave me a hug and said,
"Thanks so much for coming. I couldn't have done this
alone. This means a lot Maddie." I smiled and said,
"You know I'd do anything for you. I'll try my best
to be at every doctors appointment and I'll be there when the
little sucker pops out." We both laughed and I walked her to
my car.
She got in and I drove quickly eager to hear the results of the
baby's gender. She signed in and we waited in the waiting
room. I could tell she was nervous because she grabbed my hand
while we were waiting. "Hope?" I heard a nurse call. We
both got up and walked in the room. She told Hope to lift her
shirt up a little bit so she could start the ultrasound. She
squeezed gel on her stomach and a faded image poped up on the
monitor. "See there's the head, and there's its
feet." The nurse said. I gasped and held Hope's hand.
Hope said, "Is it a boy or a girl?"
"It's a little bit to early to tell but hopefully next
time you come we will find out." The nurse said.
"I'm excited." Hope said with a smile. "Me
too." I said. We both got up, thanked the nurse, and drove
home. I texted Jake when we got back to the house and said,
"Just took Hope to her first doctors appt. Still dont know
if its a boy or girl. Have you talked to Sean?" My phone
rang. It was Jake. I figured that he had talked to Sean and was
too lazy to write everything in a text. I picked up, "Hey
babe. What's up?" He said, "Not much. Sean texted
me earlier and said that he was sorry for everything he did and
he wants to be a part of his babys life. I told him that was
bullshit and if he really wanted to be a part of his childs life,
he wouldnt have hit Hope." I said, "You really said
that to him? Wow you're brave. I'm so proud to call you
my boyfriend." He said, "I love you more than anything
Madds."
"I love you too Jakey." I said in a cute voice. He
said, "Wanna hang out tomorrow?" I replied, "Sure.
Can't wait!"

Hopeless Dreaming
Chapter 17
At the end of the day, Jake walked
me out to my car and said, "I'm sorry for what I did
today. I didn't mean to get that intense with Sean but what
he did should never happen again and I had to get the point
across to him." I said, "Its okay. I understood why you
did what you did. You did the right thing. I love you" He
tiled up my chin and gave me a long passionate kiss. He whispered
in my ear, "I love you too." I could feel his hands
moving down my back. When he was down far enough, he
said while smiling, "You have a nice butt." We
both laughed and I put my head on his chest. He said goodbye and
I jumped in my car. I drove over to see Hope and when I got there
I walked in without knocking. Her house was like my second home
so I walked in whenever I wanted. I walked in the kitchen and her
mom said, "Thank God you're here. Hope's been crying
all day in her room." I walked up stairs and knocked on her
door. A weak voice said, "Come in." I opened the door
and sat down next to her. I gave her a hug and whispered,
"Everything will be okay. I told Jacob what happened and he
had a little fight with Sean. We all care about you Hope. Even
him. He went against his best friend for what was right."
She looked up and said, "Really? He did that for
me?"
"Yup. We're gonna fix this. The cops know the story and
are on the lookout for him. You're not going back to him
right?" I said. "Ummm...Well... I think my baby really
needs their father. Growing up without a father was horrible and
I never wanted my baby to go through that. I want it to have what
I didn't have. I want whats best for it." She
tried to convince me. "Hope, please, you know that things
won't work out after what happened. We are all here for you
for help and you will get through this without
Sean." I said. I think this was her breaking point and she
finally realized that she really didn't need him and that so
many people were here for support and help when the baby shows
up. I inherited some of my dad's money and I thought about
getting a place for just Hope and I. We would have enough space
for us and the baby and I would always be there to help out. I
told her about my idea and she said, "You would really do
that for me?"
"Of course. You in for it?" I asked. "Absoutely.
Thank you soo much Maddie. This means so much to me. You have no
idea. I feel like a million pounds of bricks is lifted off
my shoulders." She said. We gave eachother a long hug and
for the first time in a while, I saw her acting genuinely
happy. I got a text from Jake saying, "Bored
without someone to play football with. Wanna come over?" I
asked Hope for permission and she said, "Sure go ahead.
You've done pleanty for me. Go have fun! I'll see you
later. Thanks for everything" I smiled, gave her a hug, and
walked out. I texted Jake on the way to my car and said,
"Sure, be there in 5." I rushed over to Jacob's
house because I was eager to tell him what happened and to see
him. He was waiting on the steps and jumped up when he saw my car
pull into the driveway. I got out and he gave me a hug. He took
my hand and we walked inside. We sat down in his room and I said,
"Hope's over Sean. I promised her that we would give her
overwhelming support. Oh and one other thing...I'm moving
into another house with Hope. I'm using the money from my
dad. I figured she could use the extra space when the baby comes
and I could help her whenever she needed it."
"As long as your not any farther away from me, that's
cool. And maybe I could, you know...Sleep over sometime." He
said with a grin. I chuckled and said, "Yeah if you want to
be awake all night with a crying baby." He said, "Well
with you it's worth it." I smiled because he never
failed to make me feel special and beautiful. I asked him if he
would help us when it came to moving day and he cheerfully
accepted. He kissed me and not before long, he was inching his
hand down my back. I had finally felt completly comfortable with
him touching me in places I would never let anyone else. But he
earned it- sticking it out with me for two years. He took off his
shirt. I was pretty sure I knew what was coming but I didn't
want to get into any situation that I couldn't get out of,
like Hope. I saw his eight-pack of abs and it was hard to resist.
But I knew that things could turn out horrible
if I went with this, so I kept it to only making out. He
moved his hands up my sides and I rolled on top of him. When we
were done, he pulled his shirt back on and said with a
smile, "Well that was...fun."
