Short day, prom, the car parade, senior picnic, Florida Fling, & winning every spirit stick event just for the sake of being a senior. My school also does senior research projects / presentations, and apparently we're the only high school around here that does that, and it's a pretty big deal and I'm terrified -- so that's one thing I'm not pumped about.
My English teacher said that she was a judge for this year's presentations, and as she was going down the hallway to use the restroom, she saw students outside doors waiting for their turn, and some were hyperventilating and others looked like they were going to cry. I thought to myself, if this is how it affects people, why are we doing it? I find it completely unnecessary and stupid, personally. I'm sure I'll be one of those to have an emotional breakdown over it next year.
It's in front of a panel of judges. The panel is composed of teachers and community members (i.e. parents). You don't know exactly who you're presenting to until you get in the room.
