I told Sara everything that had happened, from the moment i left
the house till just now.
"Oh my gosh. I'm speechless. Are you really going to go
with them?"
"Of course, why not! I mean, she IS paying for everything.
How could I pass up on that?"
"I don't know Amanda, something doesnt seem right about
this."
"Look Sara, it's not like I'm going to be best
friends with them. It's just one trip to the mall, that's
it. I'l tell you everything that happens."
I could tell by her voice that Sara still wasn't sure about
the whole thing, but she didn't continue arguing.
"Alright... so you want to hear about my trip to the
mall?"
"Oh my gosh, yes. fill me in on all the deets!"
We were on the phone for a good hour. Sara told me she had seen
about 100 hot guys, but one had actually asked for her number.
His name was Jake, and they were going to see a movie next
weekend.
"I have the perfect idea! you guys go to the movie
theatre in the Brookridge mall, that's where im guessing
Julia and her gang are going to want to take me.
You can spy on us after the movie, and still have a spectacular
date. You can text me if you need something and visa versa! Oh my
gosh, this is going to be great."
"That is a great idea 'manda, I love it! i can't
wait till this weekend. Oh my gosh, i look horrible, i need to
work out."
"About that... I went to the YMCA today, you should join me,
we could be like, work out buddies!"
We agreed on plans, and finally got off the phone. It was 4:45
when I looked at the clock. My parents would be home in an
hour.
I went downstairs to find Luke still watching t.v., only this
time eating chips while watching some basketball game. I rolled
my eyes at him, went into the kitchen and got an apple. Gotta try
and keep up with this dieting workout thing. I sat next to Luke
and sighed, eyeing the chip bag. Bored of the basketball game, I
went upstairs to my room and went on Facebook. I logged on, and
one notification. I laughed to myself. "I am SO
popular!" I said out loud, shaking my head. I clicked on the
notification. Julia had tagged me in a post. "Can't wait
to go to the mall with the best girl in the world,
Amanda!"
What the hell? Where did this come from? Now I was defenitively
curious. Julia was up to something but I didn't know what.
Could they maybe want me in their little group, like they did
with Claire? Nooo, i was too much of a nobody. I logged off
Facebook and paced back and forth in my room. What was happening?
What did Julia want with me? Was this for the better? Should I
really go to the mall with her this weekend? The questions raced
through my mind. I was stopped by the vibrating of my phone. A
new text. I picked it up and hesitently looked at the screen.
Un-known number, of course. I opened the text, my heart racing.
"Hey babe, its julia ;)"
I would really appreciate feedback guys !
thanks to all of those who have liked i so far (:
sorry this chapter isnt super duper exciting
I cringed. "Sh*t." I mumbled. I straightened up and put
on my best smile. I turned around to face Julia, who had called
my name. "Heyyy!" I did my best to sound happy to see
them. Julia squeeled and ran to gave me a hug. The confusion must
have been obvious on my face, for she looked at me and laughed.
"I'm just so happy to see you! It's been like, ages,
girly. What are you doing here?" I could totally tell she
was faking her enthusiam, so I played along. "Oh, I know! It
does seem like ages. You look great! I'm just here to get a
good work out in, ya know. What about you?" Her eyes scanned
my body, from my sweaty work out clothes to the hair stuck to my
face from sweating. She almost cringed, but managed to keep a
smile on her face. "Oh, we were just practicing tumbling for
cheerleading next year. We're totally going to make it!"
At this point both Claire and Caitlin had joined, and Julia gave
them both high fives. I laughed a bit, trying to sound
interested. "Are you going to try out?" I stopped
laughing and looked at her. "Oh no, you know how I am.. I
can barely touch my toes." She gave me a sympathetic look,
like I was being serious. What a stuck up. "We could totally
help you with that! In fact, we were going to go to the mall next
weekend, and we would love to have you join." "We
would?" Caitlin asked, puzzled. Julia turned around, and if
looks could kill, Caitlin would have died right there. "Of
course we would, girls. This is Amanda we're talking
about." She turned back to me and gave me the cheesiest,
most fake smile I had ever seen. I was almost in shock, so I
didn't answer for a moment. "Oh I don't know, I
might have chores, and I don't have any money." She
shook her head and waved me off "Don't worry about it.
You know what? I'll pay for everything you get." My eyes
widened, "What?" She laughed. "Don't be silly,
I want you to hang out with us! What are friends for,
right?" She winked, and swooshed past me, with Caitlin and
Claire close by her sides. "I'll call you." I stood
there for a moment, watching them leave. What had just happened?
Julia, wanted to hang out with me? AND she was going to pay for
me to go shopping with her? This was insane. I walked out the
door, and started walking home, my thoughts occupying me. I
barely even noticed that I passed my house, and had to backtrack.
I unlocked the door and ran in, to where Luke was sitting on the
couch watching T.V. "Where have you been, 'manda?"
"Nowhere." I mumbled, and headed up to my room. I had
to tell Sara, she wouldn't believe this. I sat on my bed and
took out my phone, and pressed call. "Hello?" she
answered. I laughed, saying, "Sara, you are NOT going to
believe this."
should i continue guys? ;)
