WHEN LIFE GETS
YOU DOWN # 10

what you think:)
“I should get going.” I said, standing up.
“Oh, yeah.” He said, also standing up. “Can I
have your number?”
“Oh, um, I don't have a cell.” I said, embarrassed.
“But give me your address and I'll stop by
sometime?”
“Oh, okay, sure.” He said, taking a napkin from the
table and a pen from his pocket. He scribbled it down and handed
it to me.
“I'm suspended til Monday so I'll be home a lot.” He
said, handing it to me.
“Okay, see you soon.” I said while smiling
“Yeah.” He smiled, and gave me an awkward hug.
“See ya.”
I left feeling happy, and decided to go to the park and draw
him.
I sat behind my favorite tree, which was the one way in the back
of the park. No one ever was there, so it was peaceful. And the
back had the carving 'love sucks', so it suits me. I sat down
cross legged and began drawing him.
I must've lost track of the time, because when I looked at the
time on my iPod, it was 2:50. “Crap.” I said to
myself. I stuffed my things in my backpack, and started to walk
home. I got to my house at just the right time, cause once I got
to my room, my mom pulled up.
Now I know what you're probably thinking. 'But, wait, doesn't
your mom get home at like, seven?' Well, on Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Fridays, she gets home at seven cause she stays out late
drinking. But on Tuesdays and Thursdays, she comes home early so
she can beat us more. I know, pretty bad right? She decided that
she'd do it that way so her friends at work would think she cared
about us instead of going out drinking every night. Huh, I'd
rather she do that. If we're lucky (which most of the time we
aren't), she'll pass out before she even gets home. I like those
days.
I sighed and went downstairs. 'Maybe I need a beating,' I
thought. 'I think I'm falling for Gary.'
