Frank Iero's wife, Jamia, just gave birth
today to the beautiful couple's third child! This baby is the
first son of MCR, and the 4th child. They haven't yet shared
his
name.
MCR is currently included in MTV's Musical
March Madness competition online. They were last up against
Metallica, who persistently reminded their fans to vote for them,
yet with MCR saying nothing, they won. After that, Frank tweeted
this:
"@FrankIero: If you like my band i
encourage you to not vote for us in any
fake internet contests. Instead go outside & enjoy something
real w/ a
friend."
MCR's precentage of votes dropped
drastically the minute he posted
that.
When MCR performed I'm Not Okay live on
TRL, Frank stood on top of Bob's kick drum (not uncommon of him) and then fell off
(also not uncommon) which
took down half of the drumset. Bob had to improvise for the rest
of the song, playing the kick part on the tom.
My Chemical
Romance are currently building their own recording studio so they
could write and record 24/7 and get the next record out as soon
as they can.
Frank Iero was also from New Jersey,
and his band "Pencey Prep" was also signed to
Eyeball Records, which is how MCR met him. Frank loved MCR, and
once MCR saw Frank's band play live they decided to offer him
a spot in their band as the melody
guitarist.
All of the
original members of My Chemical Romance were born and raised
in New Jersey, initially leading them to sign to the local label,
Eyeball Records. With this company, they recorded their first
album, "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your
Love."
My Chemical Romance was formed by lead
vocalist, Gerard Way. He was working in New York as a cartoonist
and he had witnessed the 9/11 attacks on his way to work. He
realized then that he wanted to do something that would be
meaningful to people, instead of just continuing to be an
introverted artist working in a cubicle for a large
corporation.
"I wanted to do something with
substance, so I turned to music."
- Gerard Way
