Fate
Chapter 3

Sitting in the Starbucks lounge, I feel drowsy. I shift my position on the leather couch and close my eyes. Taking a deep breath, all of a sudden I sense a presence in front of me. When I open my eyes, my gaze is greeted by a pair of shiny green eyes.
I jump, startled.
“Woah, babe! You okay?” Harry asks, a flirty smile painted on his expression.
“Y-yes, I just didn’t notice that you were here,” I stutter.
“Just got here, actually.  I saw that you had your eyes closed and decided to scare you, for payback when I noticed that you weren’t in the crowd for the rest of the show,” he says, as his expression turns unreadable.
“Sorry, I got into a bit of a scuttle. Sit down,” I say, brushing my long hair over my shoulder, as I pat the empty space beside me with my free hand. Flirting time.
“Alright,” he says as he winks. He sits extremely close to me, leaning back as he puts a gentle hand on my thigh.
I have to resist the urge to jump. He caught me of guard. Two can play at this game.
Twirling my hair in one hand, I turn to face him, putting my legs around his, so that we’re wrapped around each other in a way. He turns beet red at first, but then adjusts himself and brushes a piece of hair out of my face.
Our faces are just inches away now, and we barely breathe. Time seems to have stopped, and we don’t acknowledge anyone around us. We stay looking into each other’s eyes for a few minutes, cautiously smiling or blushing every once in a while.
“I have an idea,” I whisper, breaking the silence.
“What would that be, beautiful?” he questions.
“Just follow me. I know my way around the city, so I have a place we can go without anyone to bother us,” I say, indicating to the several girls starting to excitedly notice Harry.
“Okay, lead me away, princess!” Harry states excitedly as he stands up, my hand in his, bowing to me.
“Let’s go,” I breathe as I lead him out of the Starbucks, his hand in mine.
We practically skip, as he follows me, stopping every so often to laugh at our ridiculousness. It’s crazy how comfortable I am around him. I never thought I could’ve been so happy with another guy, after… Never mind, I don’t want to think of that.
“We’re going on a date! Kristen likes me, so we’re going on a date!” Harry yells as he smirks at me.
I playfully let go of his hand, and pretend to act disgusted.
“A date?” I question, “You call this a date? This is only the beginning of what I have planned, so we’ll be married in your book by the time the day is over!!” I wink at him.
“I have no problem with that,” he cheekily states as he walks in front of me and kneels down, “Get on my back, Kris.”
“No, way! I need to lead you to the secret location! Besides, I’ll be heavy,” I say as I look at my feet.
“You can give me directions, and no, you will not be too heavy. You’re tiny!” he says, turning around as he lifts my chin up.
“I don’t think I am, Harry. This is a dark subject, so I’ll talk about it later and for now, I’ll walk, if it’s okay,” I say, as I force myself not to get upset.
“Darling, it’s okay! We can talk whenever you want to,” he says as he smiles and shyly walks back to my side and grabs my hand again.
“Ready, Kris?”
“Ready,” I say as I nod my head and begin to lead him through another shady alley on my way to my favorite hang-out spot in Manhattan.
We travel through several more long, dark roads until we reach the garden. It’s on the roof of an abandoned business firm, and a few people have made it into a garden over the past two years. I get a lot of my thinking done up there, with its silence. But I can already tell that we won’t be doing much of that.
“This is it?” he questions as he approaches the rustic, broken down building.
“Well, it is technically, but it’s a little farther up,” I say with a sneaky grin.
I lead him through the large double doors, approaching the wide staircase. I breathe in the all too familiar smell of wood and paint from the building’s previous owners, who left it all behind.
Taking his hand in mine, we begin to travel up the many steps. I’m starting to feel out of breath, walking up all of these stairs is exhausting. Harry seems to sense it. Great.
“Ready for that piggy back ride yet?” he asks shyly yet flirtatiously.
“Fine,” I breathe, “But it’s not my fault if you are crushed by me.”
“Babe. You’re perfect the way you are,” he says as he carefully picks me up and allows me to wrap my legs around his torso.
Wow, only in my wildest dreams would my legs be wrapped around Harry Styles’ muscular upper body.
I was lost in my own crazy thoughts before I realized that we were at the top of the stairs.
“Are you ready?” I playfully ask as I grab the doorknob that leads to the chamber of my thoughts.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Harry states as he bites his lower lip.
I swing open the door to reveal the most beautiful sight I’ve seen in my seventeen years. Flowers fill at least a hundred pots, blooming in every color imaginable. A beautiful sea of flowers, all for us to indulge. There are several groups of small trees, creating pathways throughout the roof.
I start to make my way to my favorite spot. I turn around to find Harry still standing in the doorway, staring at me.
“What do you think?” I whisper.
“Beautiful. The flowers are good too,” he playfully shrugs as he begins to approach me.

Fate
Chapter 2

I wake with a start. That was a crazy dream. If only it were real.
Holy scrap.
I sit up in bed. It was! I grab my phone and immediately call Sophie. She picks up on the first ring.
“How’s Mrs. Styles?” she questions. I can almost see her spreading her pink lips into a mischievous grin.
“Tired. And I still don’t get it. What was he doing?” I sigh.
“Well, there’s something there. Don’t worry, something will happen. I promise.”
“Okay,” I reply.
Sophie can tell I’m upset.
“Listen, I have to go into the city to visit my grandma in Brooklyn. But when I get back tonight, we can have a girls night. Okay?” she asks sympathetically.
“Okay,” I say, hanging up the phone.
I knew it. He’s a star. A hot, funny guy who would never be interested in an average girl like me. Why did I ever actually think that we had a chance.? I have barely had a conversation with the guy! There’s nothing between us.
I force myself out of bed and into the bathroom. Looking into the mirror, I take myself in. Blonde hair, dark undertones. Nothing special there. Green eyes. I guess they’re not too average, but they don’t sparkle. They’re dark.
My eyes focus on my shirt. Harry commented on it last night, but he’s probably done that a hundred other times to a hundred other girls. I rip it off of my body and throw it into the overflowing hamper in my room.
After my shower, I go downstairs, phone in hand.
“Hey, sweetie,” my mother says, as she flips a pancake, “I didn’t want to wake you too early, I knew you had a late night. But I made breakfast!”
“I’m not hungry,” I mumble, grabbing my keys and walking to the door.
“Oh,” I hear my mother say behind me, “Well, be back in time for curfew!”
I nod, as I open the front door with a loud creak and walk to my car. I sit down in the driver’s seat and pause. Where am I even going? What am I doing? Today is Saturday, and everyone I know is no doubt still in bed at this ungodly hour of nine.
I unlock my phone and try to decipher who I can call without them getting too angry at me. I decide on my friend Helen, who is a sweetheart and probably didn’t get home too late last night.
My finger presses the contact app and I begin to type into the search bar.
“H…”
My heart stops. Helen is usually the only person I have in my phone whose name begins with “H”. But two names appear. The first one, none other than Harry Styles.
“This isn’t real,” I whisper as I click on his contact.
I stare at the number and the options blankly. What do I do? Is this even real? If it is him, he probably isn’t up either.
I don’t know what to do, so I lock my phone. Tossing it to the passenger seat, I start the car and begin to drive. I don’t know exactly where I want to go, but I know that I’m going to the city.
By the time I arrive in the heavily packed city of New York, I am sweating. I have butterflies in my stomach and my eyes dart to my blank phone every couple of minutes.
I park in a parking garage, paying to stay for the day. I shakily grab my phone and head to the nearest Starbucks. I need wifi. After ordering a small coffee, I hold my phone in my small hands.
I cautiously open up to the new mysterious contact. I look at the time. 9:45. Well, let’s hope I don’t wake him. Pressing the call button, I hold my phone up to my ear.
It rings, and it rings, and it rings. Just as it seems voicemail will take over, I hear someone pick up.
“Hello?” a groggy voice asks.
So much for not waking him. I take a deep breath and force words into my mouth.
“H-hi, uh, I think you put your contact in my phone.” I say as clearly as possible. There’s rustling, whoever is on the other side of the phone seems to be sitting up in bed.
“Ah, yes. I hoped you would call,” his British accent sounds so hot when he’s sleepy.
“Harry?” I whisper.
“Yes, it’s me, love,” he replies. I can sense him smiling through the phone.
“You know, I really like you. I know I may only know you as the girl who looked incredible last night, but I feel as though there’s a connection between us. Something special,” He rambles, sounding very cute.
Again, Harry Styles is nervous around me!
I pause to think.
“I think there’s something there too,” I say, “I’m in the city. I figured you guys would stay in a hotel here, since there aren’t a lot of other options in New York.
“You’re right, darling,” he says cheekily, “Do you want to meet up? I can be ready in ten minutes. We are staying in the Grand Hotel. It’s pretty low-par, so we aren’t mobbed by fans who expect us to stay in a five-star,” he says. I can hear him getting out of bed and getting ready as he speaks.
“Sounds great. I’m actually pretty close to where you are. I’m in a Starbucks. I’ll text you the address, If you don’t mind coming here,” I say nervously.
“No problem! Like I said, I’ll be there in ten minutes,” he practically shouts, “Oh! And one more thing,”
“What?” I ask curiously.
“I’m afraid I’ve been terribly rude. What’s your name?” he asks guiltily.
“Kristen,” I say shyly.’
“Kristen. Okay, Kristen, you have a lovely name. I will see you soon!’ he tells me.
“Okay, bye!” I reply, hitting the end button.
Oh my god. This is not happening.

Thanks for reding!!! <3

Fate
Chapter 1 Part 2

“Uh, love, I have your phone. I think you gave it to me on accident.” He says as a teasing smile forms across his face.
I twirl my blonde hair, suddenly forgetting that he’s the Harry Styles. I pretend he’s just another boy as I begin to flirt shamelessly.
“Oh, it wasn’t an accident,” I whisper as I look him dead in the eyes. Oh god, hopefully I don’t seem dumb and actually look confident, I think to myself.
“Well, I wanted to give it back to you myself,” he smiles as he nervously fixes his hair and slips me the phone.
Harry Styles is nervous around me.
“By the way, I hope I can contribute to your shirt’s statement someday,” he says, chuckling to himself.
He turns to go, and my face goes red. My shirt. I completely forgot I had it on this whole time. Why did I even wear it? Well, I guess I didn’t think he’d notice me in it.
Save water: Shower with Harry Styles. Ooh, he wants to shower with you! Kristen’s got a boy toy,” Sophie chants jokingly.
“I wish, I mean in my dreams!” I say, gazing off to where he was now standing, next to the tour bus, cleverly concealed from other fans.
“Really though, did that just happen? I mean you two were going at it! I practically barfed!” Sophie says with a smirk on her face.
“It was nothing, he was just giving a stupid fan her phone back,” I say, staring at my feet.
“That’s not what it looked like, considering he was on your phone, doing something!” she says in a singsongy voice.
“Wait. What?” I ask as I feel butterflies in my stomach.
I clench my phone in my sweaty hand and unlock it. Nothing had seemed like it was changed.
“Yeah, he was on it for awhile!” Sophie says, looking over my shoulder.
I click on the photo app, assuming he had taken pictures. Nothing.
I look through my texts. Nothing.
I look on my social networking apps. Once again, nothing.
I sigh, and put my phone back into my pocket, disappointed.
“See, it was nothing,” I mutter.
“But, he was on your phone for forever!” she protests.
“Yeah, well, maybe he was just looking through it, out of curiosity,” I say, heading towards the parking lot.
Well, this was sure an interesting experience. But nothing will ever come out of it. Right?

Here's the second part! Hope you like it!

Fate
Chapter 1, Part 1

I close my eyes and take a shaky breath. The air is thick with sweat and the smell of pure desire of crazy, lustful teenage girls. This can only mean one thing. I’m at a One Direction concert.
The wait is unbearable. The screen shows an endless repeat of commercials, teasing every starstruck girl in the arena. I look to the right of me, sharing an excited glance with my best friend, Sophie. Her eyes dart to the empty stage in front of us.
“I can’t believe they will be standing right there,” she whispers, her blue eyes widening in excitement.
“I know! We will be so close to them, we might even be able to touch them,” I say, equally as excited.
“I can’t believe we actually won these tickets,” she says, pulling her dark brown hair into a ponytail.
“Sweating too much already?” I ask with a smirk.
“Kristen, you are way too perverted. It’s like you and Harry are meant to be,” she fires back.
I roll my eyes at her comment. So, I had a thing for Styles. But who doesn’t, with his dark, luscious, curls. Not to mention his tall, toned body, arms and stomach covered in tattoos. He’s practically a s*x god. Correction: he is.
I am halfway through my thought, as the stage lights up. We both scream and jump up and down. This will be a fun night.

It is more than halfway through the concert when the boys finally play my favorite song. Rock Me. The night is just getting so much better. Louis has done plenty of hip thrusts, Liam and Zayn both hit high notes perfectly, Niall is being his usual crazy self, and Harry. He has looked over at me, holding my awestruck gaze, more times than I can count.
During the chorus of the song, I get an idea. I lean over to Sophie, trying to tell her what I plan to do quietly enough so the annoying b*tch next to me doesn’t steal my idea, but loud enough so she can hear. I feel a rush of adrenaline, as she nods her head in approval. Now, for the right time.
He starts to walk towards my side of the stage, making eye contact yet again. This is it, I think to myself. “HEY STYLES,” I scream, trying my best to sound flirty, “CATCH!” I toss my phone into his large hands as I wink at him. He smirks and winks back.
“Do my eyes deceive me, or did Harry freaking Styles just wink at you?!” Sophie yells to me.
I hear an annoyingly pitched cackle next to me as the b*tch smiles sarcastically at me.
“Um, excuse me, but that wink was for me.” She states cockily.
“B*tch, please,” I say under my breath. Not quiet enough.
“Sorry, but I’m positive Harry wasn’t winking at your ugly a**.” She says.
Oh no she didn’t. “Listen up, honey. I’ve been listening to your awful screeching for the past hour and a half, right in my eardrum, and now you’re saying Harry was winking at you, and that he would choose you over me?” I yell in her scrunched up face.
“That’s exactly what I’m saying,” she states, tilting her head, as if waiting for me to slap it.
Well, she asked for it.
WHAM.
My sweaty hand hits the side of her greasy face.
“Oh crap! Kristen! You go! Everyone, that’s my best friend!” Sophie screams, pointing at me.
“Did you just slap me?” the blonde b*tch yells in pain.
“Yeah, and in doing so, I got all of your cheap foundation on my palm. Ew.” I say, as security rushes over.
“I regret nothing,” I smirk as the girls behind me break out in applause.
The burly security guard grabs me and takes me to a tent behind the stage. I hear Sophie chanting in excitement as I leave.

“Alright, miss. We understand the situation, but you cannot go back out there because you hit that girl. Even if she deserved it,” the surprisingly funny guard tells me.
“Are you with your parents?” he asks.
“No, I drove here with a friend. She’s still out there, too.” I reply, wishing I could see Harry some more.
Harry.
Out of all the commotion, I forgot Harry Styles has my phone.
“Alright, young lady, you can wait here until the concert is over.” He says, leaving as I sit on a foldable chair, trying to listen to strands of their voices.

Sophie’s POV:
I can’t believe she put that b*tch in her place! I think to myself, smiling. All of a sudden, I panic, realizing we are still at a One Direction concert, and Harry Styles still has Kristen’s phone. “Oh, crap!” I say aloud.
At this point, the boys were answering twitter questions. But Harry was facing away from the crowd, his attention focused on a small, white object in his hand. Straining my neck to get a better look, I see it. In his large hands. Kristen’s phone!
What is he doing? I wonder.  He looks back over at the empty space next to me. As quickly as I notice this, he slides the phone into his back pocket. What the...?

Kristen’s POV:
Finally, the concert is over. I see Sophie running towards me squealing with a huge smile on her face. “That was amazing!!!” she yells as she pulls me into a hug. She releases me from her death grip and her face goes white at something behind me.
I turn around to see the tall silhouette of Harry Styles. Oh my god, I think as I look up into his deep, sparkling green eyes.

Fate
 Prologue

Fate works in tricky ways. I wasn't supposed to win tickets to a One Direction concert. They weren't supposed to be front row. I really was not supposed to throw my phone on stage. And I sure as h*** was not supposed to fall in love with Harry Styles.

I have a lot to thank fate for. But there is one thing. One stupid, terrible mistake that will change my life forever. Sure, it's my fault. But if it weren't for fate, this would have never happend.

Hey guys!!! This is the prologue to a new fan fiction that me and my friend Daphne wrote. Hope you like it, and leave me suggestions!!
