I always seem to run from my problems.. They always seem to chase me.. But why are they always faster?
Once school is finally over, and I lasted a day avoiding my two closest friends, I drive to go get Lilli from school.
I get to her school as other kids are leaving. All of the sudden, I see Lilli. She looked a little upset at the moment. When she spotted me, she rushed over. Then, she burst into tears. The teacher looks at us, seeming concerned.
“Lilli!? What’s wrong? What happened!?” I say confused and worried.
“I wanna leave this school!” She says in tears.
“But why?”
“I’m scared!”
“Of what, Lilli?” I say, becoming scared too.
“The people here! I can’t stay!”
“What’d they do? What’d they say?”
“They said.., ‘Lillian, you should go die. Maybe that murderer can kill you.”***Sorry it's so short this time. I promise the next one will be longer.***

“Umm.. Is what really my family?” I say, acting like I don’t really know what she’s talking about. But I know exactly what.
“You kno-” Maddi begins, being cut off by the bell. I’ve never loved that bell more.
“I gotta go.. Bye!” I say beginning to walk out.
Walking into homeroom is no better. Everyone stares like they’ve never seen me before. As if they hadn’t known me for years. Like I did something wrong.
It makes me uncomfortable, so I just sit in the back by my best guy friend, who is also my crush. Dylan. But I didn’t know if he wouldn’t ask. I shot him a look saying ‘please’ and he caught on. He looked at me with sympathy then turned back around.
He’s like the only person who really understands when to just keep quiet.. But yet that quietness also has me hint things, and I know he’s becoming closer to finding out. He’s the other person I wouldn’t want to judge me.
After class was over, he comes up to me and says, “I know you’re hiding things. You know, Alli, I’d never judge you. For anything. You can trust me.” That word cuts through me like a knife. Trust.
But instead, I simply say, “Of course. There’s nothing to hide,” with a fake smile, and walk away.*So my zero readers, liking it?*

I’m tired when I get up. I notice it’s late, too. I have to go to school again. I’m unable to trust even my best friend, but she doesn’t need to know that. I don’t want her to judge me for anything. I’ll lose her. And she’s almost all I got. My father left us after my mother died, so now I’m stuck with my twenty year old brother who never helps with my little sister, Lilli.
I get ready to leave when I get a text. Then I notice it’s just Malcolm.

rid of them.
I hit the x button to ignore it. I don’t do secret trades. My secrets are kept to only me. I mean, who else could I trust when now, I barely trust myself. I walk into the building to notice something. Everyone huddled up and giggling. Another day, another rumor. Maddi finds me and pulls me to the side and whispers to me, “Was it really your family?”
