She thinks she’s fat, while others would
die for her body. She thinks she’s hideous,
while others see something else. They see beauty.
Head cheerleader, off to school again…
With her tight jeans and juicy sweat jacket.
^{She’s got her make up on, and her straightened hair.
Ready for another day of hiding all the pain
she’s feeing inside. The longer she holds it in, the more}
she’s falling apart. She puts on her regular act. Laughs it up
with her friends at school, and flirts with every guy 
in sight. Her classmates watch as she receives several papers
back, all reading a bright red, “100%”. She struts down
the hall—everyone greeting her with smiles. By the end
of the school day, her hair and make up is
just as perfect as It was when she first arrived
at school. She walks in the door of her house, runs up
the stairs, and slams the bedroom door behind her.
This is where she hides herself from the world. The
girl that everybody thinks they know lives behind that
door. She collapsed on her bed and let the tears flow.
