Mouthful.
Chapter
2
Elaina’s
POV
When
I got home, there was nothing I could think of but
Christopher’s beautiful face. That was his name;
Christopher Olsen (as they said . . .) But after this morning, he
was nowhere to be seen.
I lay down on my bed, resting a purple cushion over my stomach.
Candy wasn’t home yet, so I had the house for myself.
Christopher. Saying his name already made me shiver, but there
something more special about him. His face? His eyes? What was
it? He was different from all the guys at high-school, but that
made me happy because I felt . . . a click in between us. I
narrowed my eyes in suspicion. I didn’t feel anything for
Christopher! That was just crazy – I haven’t even met
him. . .
I jumped out of bed and walked back and fourth across my room.
He looked much older than me – he was about . . .
nineteen – why would we feel a click . . . in between us?
My phone vibrated across the desk – it was Aubree.
“Kim wants to
chill out. Want to meet up at the Bangalastic?”
I sighed in relief. “I’ll
meet you guys up in the Square.”
That’s what I needed – a girls-night out. I closed up
my phone and tossed it away without caring. I was stressed out,
the last thing I wanted to do was to ‘think.’
As I walked to the bathroom, I grasped the air, trying to switch
on the lights. I was quite anxious, again - to see myself in the
mirror. It was already there, I could see it from a far distance.
All it had was one, massive crack down the middle. Candy
mustn’t have hung it up after I left for school – why
would she do that?
The light flashed on; I slowly walked towards the sink,
trying my best to not to look at the massive crack. I splashed
myself with a wave of water and walked out of the bathroom.
There. That wasn’t that hard.
I tied my hair up into a high pony-tail and quickly pulled
a black-layered dress that ran to my knees. The night velvet sky
was already put up, the trees rustled through the air as it
chattered on my window – it looked cold.
I stomped down the stairs, grabbing my purse and my red-furred
coat. Candy was going to be home in less than an hour, so I
pulled out the fish out of the refrigerator before she’d
come for dinner.

50
minutes later . . .
The wind blew through my body like a fierce hurricane. I was
shivering as my teeth chattered violently. I felt like I was
waiting for hours and hours for Kim and Aubree; but guess what?
They ditched me.
My fingers were numb as I tried to reach my phone to call Aubree.
I stood alone in the Square, shivering. Nobody was in the
streets, just the bright lamp-posts, aiming at my spotlight.
“Hi, it’s Aubree! I can’t talk right now, so
please leave the message after the tone – thanks!”
her sweet voice entered my ear.
“Aubree, answer your freaking’ phone right
now!” I hissed as my phone trembled over my ear.
I was so angry, how would I go home?! No cab would pass by; I
didn’t even have the right amount of money to pay one! It
was so cold as well!
Augh! I groaned. How was Candy feeling? I didn’t want her
to pick me up – I bet she wouldn’t anyway. . .
I crossed my arms tightly over my chest, trying to warm myself
from the cold, and looked around. Screw it, I thought. I started
walking down the road – I only concentrated on the noise of
my heels as I walked. Just. . . keep. . . walking, I thought. I
was much more terrified than I was before – standing in the
Square alone.
“Oh!” a strong, muscular voice came from behind.
“Oi!”
My heart froze, I started walking much faster – it felt
like I was running by now. Again, his voice shouted down the
streets. I turned my head to the left, that’s when I saw
the man’s figure in the corner of my eye – smashing
an empty, glass bottle onto the road. I started filling myself
with tears – I tightened my red-furred coat around my body,
running smoothly down the pavement as a cold-fleshed hand grabbed
hold of my wrist.
His breath smelt of pure alcohol as a tear rolled down my cheek.
His head was over my shoulder with lips inches away from my ear,
sniffing my flesh violently. I didn’t have the chance to
see his face but his hair was dark and shaggy.
“Ugh, just the prettiest,” he groaned with a
smirk.
I gasped as he pressed my body harder onto the bricked-wall
– he had a hard-chest that was warm as fire. Nobody was in
the streets – I knew it, he was going to kill me, and I was
going to die, I thought.
He wrapped his fingers around my wrists, tightening my bones that
felt like my flesh was going to rip in any second.
“Stop, please; go away,” I whispered, my voice
crackling as I cried.
That’s when he showed his face quite slowly, just inches
away from my nose. He had green, piercing eyes – there was
a sparkle of evil as I looked into them. His warm finger, stroked
down my cheek, slowly.
“Oh honey, you won’t regret it, though.” He
said with a smirk.
I burst into tears. “What do you want?!” I
screamed.
Just when he pressed his finger over my lip – it all
happened very quickly. Another figure was behind him, pulling the
guy off me and tackling him onto the ground. And just before I
knew it, he was gone in a blur. My eyes were full of warm tears
– I collapsed on my knees, rubbing the mark of my wrists
away. Disoriented, I looked up to find a familiar face to me.
Christopher Olsen – the one who saved
me.
