chapter 14
For the next month I would cry occasionally. But soon I slowly got over it. Me, Nell and Jake went to the mall one day. We were standing by the pretzel place when 4 guys walked by us. One of them looked at me and said, "I like your shoes". and smiled. I looked at my shoes then looked back up, "Thanks." -and smiled back. He winked at me then kept walking. Nell gave me that look that indicates, 'he's cute and toatally into you.' We both giggled. 
It was that moment that I realized, things were gonna be okay. I would be able to live without Charlie, and I would be able to get over him. Charlie made me realize that there are guys that are different out there, and guys that will like me, for me. It would be hard to get over him, but I knew one thing, things would turn out okay.

chapter 14

He didn't come after me like you see in the movies. I'm pretty sure that only happens in movies. But that wasn't the last time I spoke with him. Friday came and I had only seen him in the halls at school but we never made contact. But Friday after school Nell came over and we were in my room just chilling when my doorbell rang .I knew my mom would get it so I didn't bother to even check out my window. It probably wasn't important.. we weren't expecting anyone. But then my mom came to my room and said it was for me. So I went to the door and Nell waited in my room. It was Charlie.
"Kendra, I'm sorry.."-he began. "Sorry for bothering me. good, then leave."-I said grabbing the door. He stuck out his hand to stop the door. "Sorry for not telling you." -I opened the door wider. "Sorry that you had to be the last to know. Sorry for not talking to you for weeks. Sorry for the crap I put you threw". "Thanks, but I got threw perfectly fine. no need to apologize." -I went for the door again. "No, I do. The reason why I didn't tell you is not because it would break your heart, it would break mine too. I stopped talking to you so I could try to get over you. that didn't happen. You're impossible to get over." -Nell came down the hall and stood a couple feet behind me to see what was going on. "It was stupid of me to think that would solve everything..." -his face got extremely upset looking. "Yeah... it was...." -I said looking at the ground. "When are you leaving?". "Tomorrow"-he said looking at the ground as well. "Goodbye."
We hugged. Tears started to fill my eyes. "Thank you."-i said. "For what."-he said still hugging me. "For being in my life".

chapter 13

 Monday I went to school hoping to not see him. Luckily I didn't ... until after.
I was walked out the school and walked out to the street to start walking home, but when I turned the corner he was standing there. We both stopped and looked at each other speechless and emotionless. Then I turned around and tried walking the other way. He started to run towards me "Wait". I stopped and turned around, "Why."-I said with no emotion in the word. "My dad got a job and...."-he started. "No. Why didn't you talk to me, text me for months. Why didn't you tell me you were moving. Why did you pretend that I never even existed. Why did you stop caring."- This time I had emotion. "I never stopped caring...". "Oh, shut up. If you never stopped caring then you wouldn't have ignored me, or told everyone except for me that you were moving."-My eyes started to water, so I turned around and started to walk away.

chapter 11

The summer went by. Me and Charlie hung out a couple of times, sometimes with people and sometimes without. We never became official though. School started again, I was a Sophomore. Charlie began talking to me less and less. We said 'Hi' in the hallways but that was it. We had no classes together. Then there was a month that he didn't talk to me at all besides the 'Hi's in the hallways. That month became a month and 2 weeks. That became two months. Finally it was almost three months. I never tried to text him or talk to him because I figured if he wanted to talk he would text me. Then finally I got a text 'I have to tell you something.' from him. I thought of all the possible things he could say. Maybe he doesn't like me anymore, maybe he found someone else... while I thought about what he could say I replied saying 'okay'.

chapter 10
We went back to where everyone was. Nobody said anything until that night, everyone texted me asking about it. 
The fourth of July came. They had fire works in the town that night so the usual group of friends decided to go together. Charlie said he would pick me up from my house at 8:30. He did and we went to the center of town to meet up with everyone. We all walked around and bought candy and glow sticks. As we were walking Charlie grabbed my hand and held it without even looking at me. We all walked to the park where there was only a few old people sitting. We couldn't really see the fireworks from there but I don't think it mattered because Jake and Nell were making out by a tree and the other kids were running around goofing off. So Charlie took me and we went to his car. We could kind of see the fire works from where he was parked, but it didn't really matter for us either...
It was an awkward quietness. Then he spoke, "Kendra..". I looked over at him and he kissed me. Then he smiled. He came in again but this time not for just a quick kiss, we started to make out. I had never made it to this base with a guy before so I wasn't sure really what to do. Then my phone started to ring. Thank god. It was my mom and she asked me where I was and when I was coming home, inferring that I should be coming home soon. So Charlie drove me home. We were in my driveway and he kissed me again. He started to talk "I....". I started to freak out. ".. 'll text you later." Phew.

chapter 9
The way it worked was Jake had an app on her Ipod touch that shuffled peoples names, so she put all the names into it and we passed it around in a circle and whos ever name you got was the person you asked truth or dare to. So Jake got me. I said truth. He asked me if I had ever chilled in my house naked and I have honestly never done that so I said no. Next Nell dared this girl Stacy to act like a dog for 5 minutes straight. Finally it came to me and I got Nell who picked truth. I asked her if she sang in the shower and she said yes. We went around the circle once and then Cat got Charlie. "Truth or dare." -She said. "hmm.. dare."-he said. "I dare you....... hmmm..." -she looked at me. "I dare you to kiss Kendra... on the lips." Everyone laughed and made awkward noises. I looked at her confusedly, then looked at him. "uh... in front of everyone..?" -He said. "Well u can do it behind the house, but you have to do it". I felt my face turn red. He stood up and walked over to me, "I guess I have to... its a dare". I got up and we walked to the side of the house. 
My heart was pounding in my chest. We stood there silently for a good 3 minutes. Finally he said, "So... I have to kiss you...". "I guess so.."-I said. He stared me straight in the eyes for a good 3 seconds then kind of chuckled. I nervously laughed. Finally he leaned in and touched his lips to mine for one slow second then pulled away. His brown eyes twinkled as he giggled again.

School ended and summer started. The beginning of summer I hung out with Nell and Jake and my other friends and Charlie still texted me once a week. Then July came and Nell had a pool party.

Jake was there, obviously, and a bunch of our other friends and Charlie. It was descent weather for swimming. But we all just sat around the pool and nobody would go in first. So Jake pushed Nell in and then he went in with her and finally people started to go in. Except for me. Charlie jumped in. And I was standing with my friend Cat. Charlie got out and came over to us, we were standing near the edge of the deep end. "Come in the pool"-he said. "No it's cold!"- I said. "No its not, you wimp". "Yes it is!". "You have to get used to it." "Nope"- I said. and before I could do anything else he wrapped his arms around me and jumped both of us into the pool. When I got my head up from the water I found him and swam after to attack him. He laughed and splashed me with water. We stayed in the pool and all played marco polo. 
When It started to get dark out we all got in a circle and played truth or dare. I was sitting next to Cat and another girl Tara.
