ten.
“So, what are you in the mood for?” Ben asked
Savannah. They had just left the field and rode in Ben’s
old blue pick up truck. “What about eggs?” Savannah
suggested. As the rode in the pick up truck, Ben held Savannahs
hand, and one hand was on the starring wheel. “Our first
date, and you want eggs?” Ben laughed. “Well it is 10
o’ clock in the morning.” She giggled. “True,
very true, But wouldn’t you want something more,
fabulous?” “Ben, I don’t need anything
‘fabulous’ im happy with eggs, and you.”
“Okay, eggs it is then.” He smiled at Savannah, and
she leaned over and kissed his cheek.
They walked hand in hand into the diner. Their waiter seated
them near the window, overlooking mountains and mountains of
trees. “This is so pretty.” Savannah smiled, taking
in the environment.
“Just like you.” Ben reached over and took
Savannah’s hand. She blushed, “Your too
sweet.”
After they ordered their food, Ben told Savannah everything
that had happened when she lost her
memory.
“Did I really lose
it?” Savannah asked.
“Yes, you really did.”
“I cant believe I would forget you.”
“It wasn’t your fault, you did fall pretty hard.” Ben shrugged.
“But y-y-you so much to me.” Savannahs eyes filled with tears.
“Don’t cry, its over now. What matters is that you remember now, right?” Ben tightened his grip on Savannahs hand.
“Yes, right.” She smiled.
The waiter soon came with their meals, Savannah order eggs, toast
and a glass of orange juice. Ben ordered pancakes and bacon, with
a glass of milk. They ate and talked, there was never a moment of
silence, for they had much to talk about. Savannah felt as things
were finally coming together, and she was
finally happy.

“Ben, Ben wake
up.” Savannah whispered into Ben’s ear. Savannah
looked around the field, why are we here? Ben sat up,
“What? What’s wrong?” He rubbed his eyes.
“Why are we back here? We haven’t been here since
last summer.” She asked Ben. His eyes widened. “You
remember this?” He asked, sitting up straighter.
“Well of course I do, we danced here. Don’t you
remember?” Savannah was confused. “I remember, but
you didn’t.” Ben grabbed Savannah’s hand,
“Savannah, who am I?” He asked. “Ben, your
really creeping me out now.” “Savannah, just tell me.
What do you know about me?” Ben tightened his hand around
hers. “Well, I’ve known you since forever. And I
broke up with Cody for..” Before she could finish Ben threw
his arms around her. “Ben, really. What’s going
on?” She asked him. “You lost your memory, so I took
you somewhere that I thought you’d remember, and you
did.” He smiled. “Of course I’d remember this
place Ben, I’ll always remember it.” Savannah put her
arms around Ben, and they laid back into the dandelions and
starred up at the clouds. They laid like this for hours, and
again.. They fell asleep under the stars, in each others
arms.

“Wow, its beautiful.” Savannah smiled, starring at
the field of dandelions. “Just like you.” Ben nudged
Savannah. She blushed and step forward into the field. The sun
was just setting and the sky was filled with the colors of
yellow, orange, and red. Savannah began to pick dandelions,
blowing on them and making wishes. “Here, you make
one.” She said, and handed Ben a dandelion. He smiled,
“Thank you.” Ben closed his eyes and made a wish. I
wish that Savannah’s memory will come back. He opened his
eyes, and blew on the dandelion. The little white puffs flew off
and the wind took them away. “So why is this place so
important?” Savannah asked. “Well…” Ben
began, “This is where we came last summer. You brought me
here because it was the day I was going to take my life, and you
didn’t let me. So we came here, and talked till the stars
were out. Then we danced, and you sang to me. It was the day I
fell in love with you Savannah.” Savannah stared at him
with tears in her eyes, “You love me?” She asked.
“I always have loved you, but that day, I just knew you
were the one.” He stepped closer to her. By this time the
stars were out, and the moonlight shinned down on them.
“Dance with me Ben?” Savannah took his hand. Ben
smiled, “Of course."
They both laid in the tall grass, surrounded
by the dandelions. It was almost midnight and they had just laid
down from dancing among the stars. Ben was telling Savannah about
her life, because she still didn’t remember. Although Ben
was still upset that the field didn’t help, he didn’t
let it show. He was enjoying his time with Savannah, and even if
she never got her memory back he would still love her. He would
be with her everyday helping her, he would never give up on her.
Ben realized that Savannah had fallen asleep, her head resting on
his chest, and her hand around his waist. He smiled and kissed
her head, he put her arms around her and pulled her close.
“ I love you Savannah Parker.” He said, and then
closed his eyes and slowly drifted off.

“The only way she will get her memory back is if you show her something important.” The doctor told Ben. “How will that help?” He asked the doctor, thinking of things that were important to Savannah. “Well, the memory is all still there, but she just cant think of it. But if you show her, it should work.” Ben nodded, it was his only chance. He was scared though. What if her memory never came back? How will they be together? These questions flooded through his mind as he sat in the waiting room. He needed something good, he thought back to the years when they were younger. Ben thought of all the things they did as the were children, and the trips they went on with their families. It was hard, he admitted. There were so many places they had gone with each other, and each time they both had an amazing time. He thought and thought, but he knew that one had to be the most important. He just couldn’t decide. He thought about last summer, and he got it. He knew where he was going to take Savannah, he knew what would make her memory come back. He jumped up quickly, and ran to her room.
“Hi Savannah.” He said as he stepped inside.
“Hi.” She sat up from the hospital bed.
“How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay.”
“I was wondering, can I take you somewhere?” He walked over to her bed side.
“I don’t know, I don’t know you.”
“Savannah, please. I’m begging you. Just trust me.”
“Okay Ben, okay. But can I ask you something?”
He smiled, “Anything.”
“Where are we going?” Savannah asked.
Ben helped Savannah off
the bed, “You’ll see, you’ll see. But trust me,
you‘ll know where we are when we get
there.”
Savannah smiled, “Okay Ben. Lets get out of
here.”

Ben stayed by Savannah’s side the whole night. He held her
hand, and never let his eyes wander. They were always on
Savannah, looking for the slightest movement. He talked to her
for hours. He told her his favorite memories with her, and the
times she had made him feel like the luckiest guy ever. As he
told her these things, he cried. He cried more than he ever had,
and he as though his heart was torn. He knew he would never love
someone more than he loved Savannah. In fact, he would never love
another. Savannah was his world, and in his world she was the
only one that mattered.
The doctor came in to check on her multiple times. Every
time he came in, he said the same news as before, “ We just
don’t know.” This killed Ben to hear, and he wanted
so bad to go find Cody, and to give him what he deserved. Instead
though, he waited by Savannah’s side praying that she would
open her eyes, and eventually, she did.
“W-w-what..” She started. But before she could
finish, Ben pulled her close. “ Oh Savannah, your
okay.” He whispered. He brushed her hair back, “How
do you feel?” Savannah starred at him for a moment, her
facial expression confused. “ Who… are you?”
She asked, pushing away. “ Savannah, its me. Ben!” He
watched her facing, looking for any sight of memory. “ I
don’t know you.” She looked away, “Please
leave. Your scaring me.”

The doctors didn’t let Ben in the room right away. They told him that Savannah had hit her head pretty hard, and she could have internal bleeding in her brain. So he sat in the waiting room, helpless. He didn’t think about anything but Savannah. He couldn’t think about anything else, because she was the only thing that mattered. He was scared he would lose her, and that worst part was… he didn’t even have her yet. He didn’t get to kiss her lip, and feel as though she wanted him as much as he wanted her. This broke his heart, and he felt hopeless. He prayed that she would be okay. She needed to be okay, because if she wasn’t Ben wouldn’t know what to do with himself. Savannah had always been there, she was always there when he needed a shoulder to cry on, or if he needed someone to tell him that things would get better, and that life was okay. She was the reason he was still here today. He thought about taking his life many times in the past, but he never did, because Savannah was always the person that stopped him. He loved her, He desperately needed her.
When the doctor finally came out, Ben stood up, bracing himself for the worst. “ We don’t know if she’ll be okay.” the doctor said, starring at his clip board. “ What do you mean you don’t know?” Ben asked, his heart dropping. “ We still haven’t figured out how bad her condition is.” Ben felt his eyes water, but he fought back the tears. “Can I please see her?” The doctor saw the hurt in his eyes and nodded, “ She’s unconscious, but yes.” The doctor pointed to the room on the left, room 345. Ben walked to the door, and opened it slowly, taking a deep breathe before stepping in.

Savannah sat outside
on her front steps, waiting for Cody to arrive. She looked down
at her perfectly painted toes, and her tan skin. The summer air
felt hot against it, and she pulled her blonde hair back into a
pony tail. Her heart was beating fast as she thought about what
was to come. She had never dumped a boy before, heck.. Cody was
the only boy she’s ever dated. Savannah spent that whole
morning thinking of ways to break it to him lightly, “Its
not you, its me.” “ We were better off as
friends.” “ We just don’t work.” all of
these were her options, but she felt as though that
wouldn’t work in this situation. She was breaking up with
Cody for Ben, although Ben didn’t know this yet. He still
hated her guts at the moment, but she hoped that after she told
him the good news that everything would be better. Savannah
didn’t notice Cody’s car as she was thinking about
all these things,
"Hey babe.” Cody said as
he walked up the steps to her. She snapped back to reality,
“ Hi Cody.” She began to shake as her nerves took
over her. “You needed
to talk to me?” Cody
asked.“Yeah.” Savannah stood up to face him. They were
only inches apart. “ This..I mean us. Its just not working
out.” She looked down
not wanting to see his facial
expression. “Who is it?
Who’s the douche that wants you?” He was angry, very
angry. Savannah took a step back, “ Cody, Its just not
working out..” Cody stepped towards her, and grabbed her
wrist tightening his grip with every breathe he took. “
Stop it Cody! You’re hurting
me!”

The one whos always been there
chapter
two.
Savannah Starred outside her bedroom
window to Ben’s house. Her eyes were swollen from the tears
she had cried. Savannah’s mind kept replaying the night
back. How could she mess everything up like this? Why did she
turn away just as Ben was about to kiss her? These questions kept
running threw her mind. But the biggest and most important
question she had was, why did she still have feelings for Cody?
Ben was right, he treated her like dirt, he made her feel small
and insecure, but she still liked him. Cody and her had been
going out for almost 6 months. In the beginning Cody had been
sweet and caring. But as days, weeks, and months went by he
slowly began to change. The once loving conversations they had
were turned into fights and arguments. She began to feel insecure
as he pointed out more and more flaws she had. Their relationship
was going down hill, but Savannah kept holding on. She thought
that this was what love was, considering he was her first
boyfriend. She didn’t want things to change, she wanted to
feel like someone wanted her, even when she truly knew that this
wasn’t how things were suppose to be.
Savannah was still
watching Ben’s window as his light shut off. She felt her
heart sink as minutes passed. She finally realized that he
wasn’t coming to his window to say goodnight, something he
had done every night since they were little. Savannah knew she
had hurt him bad, and she felt hopeless. Ben had been her best
friend pretty much since she was born, 15 years ago. They grew up
together, only living a few feet apart. They spent everyday of
the childhood together, never leaving each other sides. As they
grew older, they grew even closer. Telling one another their
deepest secrets and feelings. Ben was protective of Savannah, and
watch out for her. Savannah could be herself with Ben. Knowing he
would never judge her for what she did, or what she felt.
Savannahs mind was spinning at this point. Who was it? Who did
she love? Who did she want? She laid down on her bed, starring up
at the ceiling. She began slowly drifting off into sleep, but
before she finally closed her eyes, she thought of one
thing:
