Waking up on Christmas Morning!

There was once this guy in my History class.
I can still remember the way he looked, smelt, and laughed.
I even remember the way he made me feel.
I felt like they did in movies- except this was actually real.
One day, I tried talking to him, but it didn’t go so well.
My face turned beat red, and it felt as if my tongue had swelled.
But nonetheless, he talked to me, and I counted the sparkles in his eyes.
They were the deep blue ocean; as beautiful as the sunrise.
I tried to memorize all the little details that made him great.
The freckle above his lip, his crooked smile, even the way he said my name.
But then she came along and decided she wanted him.
Unexpectedly, he fell for her by a sudden whim.
Eventually, all he saw was her instead of me.
So I began to forget those things that I had once memorized so perfectly
Things like if his eyes were like the vast, blue ocean or a field of lush,
green grass.
And now all I can remember is that there was once this guy in my
History class.
So... For extra credit, I had to write a poem for my English teacher.
After writing it, I decided to put it up here. ^.^

While I was dancing, I saw that my crush
was walking around, looking all sad.
So I grew some balls and went up to talk to him.
"Hey," I said. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I guess," He said. "Just mad."
"Why?" I asked.
He sighed. "My date's grinding on some guy."
"Well, she's not a very good date, then," I said.
He smiled to himself and then at me and said,
"Well, maybe I should've taken you instead."
