I see you came across my Witty. Congrats. My name is Shelby, I'm seventeen and a senior in high school. I live in a small town in southeastern Iowa. Those four words up there mean the absolute world to me. Without any of them, I wouldn't be the person I am today, or the person I will be in the future. My family is disfunctional, but who's isn't? My parents are divorced and have been since I was ten. My dad has brain and lung cancer as of December 2012. I have an older brother named Skylar, who will be 21 this fall. My childhood was living hell for me, but I won't go into details, if you really wanna know, you can ask. My friends are imperfectly amazing. John "Jack" Patrick Donovan.} All of them have made mistakes in our friendship, but so have I. My music preferences are probably nothing like yours. I can be listening to rap one second, and then change to a Christian song, then to a country song, then to a oldies rock song. All music means something, if someone can relate to it. No music is bad music unless there is no meaning behind it. Music has been there for me, when people weren't. Its able to say words that I can't say or express my feelings. I would go crazy if I didn't have my music. Lastly, but certainly not least, God. Jesus Christ is my one and only Savior. Without him, I would be no one. He is there for me when no one else is, and speaks to me when I don't know the answers. He listens to me, and in the darkness, He gives me light. I recently went to a work camp for youth group where about 400 teens come together from across the nation and work on the homes of low income and/or people with disabilites. It really opened my eyes on how blessed I truely am. My connection with God is extremely better since work camp and I plan on doing mission trips as a life career now. I'm going to San Diego in September and Haiti this spring. To sum it all up, my family is the greatest, my friends are the best, music is amazing, and God is everything. <3
