Yesterday, there was an
assembly. An anti-bullying assembly. An
assembly for togetherness. An assembly that divided
the "groups". It was nice seeing
how everyone was equal. I learned things i never knew before.
During open mic time we were all able to tell our secrets, the
pretty popular girl broke down and started crying because of how
insecure she was, no one
knew that before, i even started crying. On boy's father
left him for drugs, he
started crying-the class clown, of all people. One girl was put
up for adoption at the age of 9. People tell her almost everyday
that shes worthless, no one knew
her story. My best friend.
Went up to tell her story. She's bi-racial, abused at home,
and felt as though she wasnt good enough. To see the girl with
the smile on her face cry, broke everyone inside. She's one
of the best people i know, she doesnt deserve this, shes there for
everyone. and then she opened up and confesed to having
attepted suicide 8
times, but never told anyone. Our school
became so much closer after that day, people went up and
apologized for things they did in the 3rd grade. The people that
went up, are the ones i know as the most happiest. This has
changed the way i view everyone, i couldn't believe some of
the things i heard.
