Writing a story is much like giving birth.
First the idea wells up inside of you, the plot kicking with
purpose until it's time to deliver. Each chapter is just another
painful contraction and you'll curse and cry the whole way
through, screaming out profanities to your loved ones until
finally it's all over and a smile breaks out because this little
book has ten fingers and toes and it is all yours.
If you want a story to be told, you're going to have
to be the one holding the
pen.
Because if someone else is narrating the story for
you, you're going to be dealt a part and whether or
not you're the
-noble knight
-damsel in distress or
-the fiery dragon
is up to them and their imagination.
"Go and fix your make up, girl, it’s just a break up.
Run and hide your crazy and start actin’ like a lady.
'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together.
Even when you fall apart."
