I don’t hate school. In fact, I love to learn. What I do hate is being in an over populated school, with so many varieties and options of friends to make, Yet I’m still alone. I can be surrounded by people and at the end of the day I’m still upset that I haven’t found, not one person, that can understand me as a person.

And then sadness hit me like a
bullet in the back. I realized that my only
friends at 3am were the demons inside
my head and the loneliness inside my bed.

“I remember when I was younger and I wanted to be beautiful; now I’m older and I want to be intelligent. I want to burn hearts with brilliance and engulf souls with compassion. I want to be loved for my thoughts and nothing else.”

“what are you twelve”
yeah on a scale of one to ten bye

my dream
isn't complete
without you
i have the tendency to forget how to breathe when im close to beating my highscore

I like the idea.
That someone, somwhere is
made for you, forever.

If our destiny is to eventually drown...

Fragments From a Junior's Thoughts

Today, I heard the phrase "it looks good on college applications" 11 times

Teachers tell me they are preparing me for the "real world" as if the first 18 years are a free trial

Getting an education turned out to be a competition I never agreed to enter

I used to think in weekdays and now I think in test dates

Nothing is heavier than this backpack except maybe my eyelids

I'm losing sleep, losing weight, losing my mind

I'm so lost

Even as I write this poem I know nothing I say matters unless it's typed in Times New Roman 12pt font
