remember the day i forgot to tell you the dance was formal, and you showed up in jeans and a t-shirt?
i thought you'd get mad at me, but you didn't.

there were a lot of things you didn't do, but you loved me, put up with me, and protected me all through.

remember the day i waited by the door, waiting for you to return from iraq?
