Is this real? i ask myself. it's
ashylynn. it's my bestfriend. " hi . . . " i
say iin a quiet voice. " hey, um, i came over
here to tell you that i heard you and Dustin broke up
" she replied with the weirdest tone in her
voice. " yeah, i broke up with him.. i told you I
would." i say back. we both walk to the couch and sit
quietly for a couple of minutes. " why? why dude?
just why?" Ashlynn asked me. I get confused and ask
" What are you talking about Ash?" she stands up
and takes a deep breath, " Why are you falling in love
with my brother?" she exclaims with a smile but no so
smile on her face. " ash, i am. but please. don't
take him away from me. no. not this one " i say while
my heart is breaking. " girl! no. im happy for you
two. i have always wanted this day too come. you two are
destiny !" im so confused. she walks out the door, and
i get a text from John, he texts me and it says " hey
beautiful, wanna go to the park again tonight? i start to
smile and think to myself... maybe he is the one for me . .
. and now, I just cant stop thinking about his eyes. his
hair. his laugh. jus , him.

Chapter #12
I know i won't be the first one to
pull away. It was magical. Okay not the kind
of "magical" kiss you see in those old
princess movies....but, it was close enough. We pull away.
"You have no idea how long I have wanted to do
that." John said. I smiled. "And?" I said in
a mischievous voice. "It was perfect" my smile
got even bigger. He was so sweet! "I better take
you home now huh?" he asks. "yeah, gotta get
back to Cody." we started walking back; his
fingers wrapped around mine. "hey I have
tickets to a baseball game this weekend... I was wondering
if i could take Cody, I thought it would be good for him to
be with a guy for a change." "He would love
that!" I exclaimed, "lets make it a suprise, he
hasn't had one of those in a long time." he
smiled. "well I'm glad I can take
him" then the next thing I knew, we were at my front
door. "Talk to you later?" I ask him.
"absolutely" he says. He gives me a quick peck on
the cheek and disapeared into the night. I walked inside to
see Cody passed out on the couch. The tv is still on, Green
Lantern the movie, of course. I sit down next to him
and get comfy. I finish the movie and turn it off. I was to
tired to walk upstairs, so just slept on the couch.
The next morning a woke up to a knock at the door. I
walk my sleepy butt over there and open it. My mouth
droped open...

Chapter #11
"Cody! answer the door, but dont
send him up!" i yell down. i look in the
mirror. red eyes from crying. love you too Dustin. i
deside to change into some black shorts and a
old Jonas brother tank top. i take one last
look in the mirror and notice i now look
fine. walking down the steps i see cody and John
talking. i smile and from behind, jump onto John's
back. "hey there!" he smiles as i jump down.
"hello!" i greet him. "well im gonna leave
you two love birds alone" says cody before i
smack his head lightly. "lets go
upstairs" i tell John. we walk up into my room and i
sit on my bed while John looks at my dresser.
"hey! i remember that picture!" he says while
holding up a photo of me him and Ashlynn. i smile and
say "yeah! i really wish we could re-live
that day!" he puts the picture down and
starts messing around with my jewlery box. "you
gotta lot of stuff" he comments. "well
i use it!" i smile back to him. "wanna go for a
walk?" he asks. "sure!" i say with a huge
smile. i walk out of my room and John grabs
his hoodie and phone. "cody we're goin
for a walk, be back by 11:30" i say looking
at the clock. its 10:30 now, we have tons of time.
"kayyyyyyy" he says, not moving his head from the
tv. we walk out the door then John asks "so, to
the park?" i smile and say yes. i didnt bother to wear
shoes, why should i? the park is about five minutes away.
once we get there i lay down on the
"merry-go-round" and John gies it a push. then he
gets on himself. i look at the sky, then in Johns eyes. the
stars make his eyes shine brighter than they
already do. we look at the stars, and theres no
clouds in the sky. i lay my head on his chest,
then look up at him. right then and there,
he's lips moved slowly closer to mine. i could of
pulled away, but i didnt want to. soon enough, me
and John were kissing.

"What was that all about?"
asks Cody. "Well I guess John likes
me..." I say. "But what about
Dustin?" he asks. I hesitate. "Um.... I
don't think I will be seeing Dustin anymore
buddy." "Oh... okay as long as
your happy" he says. I just leave it at
that. I walk up to my room and sit at my window
seat. I grab my phone and text Dustin.
Kaylee- "We need to talk."
Dustin- "Okay... I will be over in a minute"
A little while later I hear the doorbell. Cody answers it and sends Dustin up the stairs to my room. "Knock, knock" Dustin says with a smile. "Hi.." I say. Dustin kisses my cheak. "So what did you want to talk about?" he asks "I told Ashlynn." I say "She is furious with me! She said it's either her or you." Dustin is silent. "We cant see eachother anymore Dustin." I say. "Wow" Dustin says with a harsh tone. "What?!" I say harshly. "Don't I have a say in this?" Dustin asks. "Why should you!?." I'm yelling now, "I told you from the start she liked you! And that I didn't want to go behind her back! I told you specificly that this could happen!" "Yeah but I didn't care if she liked me! Because I was in love with you!" he yells back. I fell really bad now. "Goodbye Dustin" I say. We're both silent. He finally gets up and leaves. When he leaves I'm bawling. I can't believe I just did that. I mean I love him! About 20 minutes after Dustin leaves I get a text.....from Dustin.
Dustin- "I will always love you."
I can't do this anymore! All tghe hurt, the pain, the love, the dying friendships! My life is so messed up! A few minutes later the doorbell rings. John. Oh my god! I totally forgot!!

"hey Kaylee, wait up!" he
yelled as i ran out the door. Before i even got off their
driveway his tan, strong hand grabbed my arm. "Kay,
what happened?" he asked sweetly. "nothing, John
its fine" i say back to him, looking at the grass.
"one of the prettiest girls i know is crying her eyes
out, whats wrong kaylee?" i almost smile at this.
"long story short, there was this boy that ash totally
called but i took him. now she hates me, he doesnt care
much, and i have no one but cody" the tears mostly
stopped but a few slide down my face lightly. John takes
his thumb and whips them away. "you have me" he
whispers in my ear. i love him, but like a brother. but
isnt that like the love stories? i look into his bright
green eyes, and smile. "what?" he asks with a
little laugh. "you never told me, never gave me clues,
nothing" he laughs. "you're kiddin! ever
since you were 6 and i was 8. remember that fourth of july?
ashlynn was away at our grandparents house, so it was me
and you. just me and you. when we got to the parking lot
where we sat to watch the fireworks you couldnt see, so i
gave you a piggy back ride, remember?" i laugh.
"oh yeah! then i went to get a cupcake but you wouldnt
let me off your back, so you came with me! and our parents
thought ashlynn would hate it if she found out we were in
love, i remember now!" he smiles. "guess she
never found out" we laugh and start walking.
"where do you want to go?" i think alittle, then
say "hey John i gotta go, but stop over at 10?"
he flashes me his perfect smile "sure, but im walking
you home" i smile at him, who would of guessed.
"i can't see" i say and soon enough im on his
back, and he's walking me home. once we get to my house
he hugs me. "what was that for?" i ask. "i
just wanted a hug, thats all" i laugh. "i'll
see you at ten John" he turns away and i walk into my
house. cody noticed me and John walking and watched us out
the window. he makes kiss noises and i tackle him. finally,
thats all i can say.

Chapter #7
it's about 4:30 when i start getting
ready, and then i go down into Cody's room.
"hey" he says with a smile. "hi" i
say slowly. "whats wrong?" he asks sweetly.
"look cody, you're the best brother ever, and i
need you're help." he smiles "im in" i
laugh. "i avent even told you yet!" now he
laughs. "but i got an idea, i stole you're
phone" i stare at him in shame. "whos
Dustin K with a heart?" oh cody, same old cody as
he always will be. "shut up!!" he laughs
"you're going on a date with him and need me to
cover from someone, right?" he asks. "yeah. . .
umm ashlynn. she really likes this boy, but so do i
and he likes me. i told her you were sick, and so im
watching you and cant hang out tonight. if she comes over
or anything, please cover?" ive asked him to
do this many times before. "sure kaylee" he
smiles then adds "i got this in the bag" we laugh
and i go back to my room and i add lip gloss, the only
makeup i wore. i go downstairs at 5:50 and drink some
water. soon enough the door bell rings. dustin. i
smile and open the door. i ask if he wants to come in but
he said the movie starts in 15 minutes, so we better
go. the closest movie theater is 25 minutes away,
either we're gonna be late, or we arent seeing a
movie. soon enough we're at the beach.
"ta-da" he smiles. "where are we
going?" i ask. "to the fair!" he smiles. we
run over to the fair on the beach, its kinda a
fair. they only have games and food, but that works for me.
we're up there for a few hour hours. we get ice cream
and he smiles a lot. we take pictures, and he even won
me a teddy bear, and named it june."this is
our month" he whispers in my ear, then kisses me. for
the rest of the night we're holding hands, he never
lets go. i have to tell ashlynn now, have to. we
head back to the car and he drops me off. he
walks me to the door, hugs me, and kisses my
head. i say goodnight and tell him i had a wonderful time.
i walk inside and find cody watching tv. i start
watching with him but my phone goes off "i miss
you already" -dustin.
i think im falling for him. . . more than planned.

That
night, I’m lying in bed and I can’t sleep!
I’m too excited! My phone beeps. I got a text! I race
to my phone. It’s from Dustin!
Dustin-“Hey beautiful.J” wow, I have never ever been called beautiful before.
Kaylee- “HiJ”
Dustin- “Couldn’t sleep either?”
Kaylee- “No”
Dustin- “Well while we are talking I was wonder if your busy on Saturday?”
Kaylee- “Jnope. What did you have in mind?”
Dustin- “Wanna go to a movie?”
Kaylee- “Sounds fun! Pick me up at 6?”
Dustin- “See you then”
OMG!! Dustin just asked me out!! I wanna call Ashlynn but she will freak! I better just keep it from her for now… Maybe she will be over him by next week… I hope she is…. I mean, Dustin is the sweetest guy I have ever met! I can't believe he even asked me out. The rest of the week goes by so fast! At school I feel so bad because Ashlynn is still talking about Dustin! "Whatcha doin Saturday? Wanna come over?" she asks. I hate lieing to her! "Um, I gotta watch Cody..." I close my locker and start to walk away. "well he can come! he has come before!" "Well, um he's um a.... sick! Yeah strep throat.... I think I'm getting it...." *cough cough*
"Well don't give it to me!" she yells. "Sorry, I'll see you later okay?" I walk away quickly. Next is Biology. Dustin is in my class. We are starting a project today! Dustin's my partner!! "We can work on it on saturday before the movie" I say "Sounds good; he says back, See you then" I'm really excited now! When saturday comes around I am a nervous reck! I forgot one thing when I was planning my date with Dustin!
