Chapter 6

Jessi's POV

*1 month later*

There was a knock on the door. "Justin! Can you get that? Please be nice though!!" I shouted. I clipped my hair and smiled at my reflection. Tonight was the dance, as well as Caleb and I's one month anniversary. We were still going strong and I was totally in love with him.
I put my earings in and grabbed my shoes before running down to meet Caleb.
Justin and him stood there. Caleb was on one said of the doorway, outside, while Justin stood inside. Justin was staring at him and I saw Caleb gulp nervously. Justin still hadn't really let up to him yet.
"Justin, you could've let him in," I said, putting my other shoe on.
"I couldv'e." He turned to me. "But I didn't."
I smiled and rolled my eyes. Justin walked into the kitchen.
I looked at Caleb. He looked wicked cute. His hair was messed up perfectly and he had a tux on.
"You look nice," I said. "You didn't have to wear a tux though."
"I know, but I had this from my brother's wedding and it still fit me, so I thought it worked." He pulled me into a hug and whispered in my ear, "You look gorgeous."
I smiled into the crook of his neck and I could smell his colonge. I pulled away and kissed him. "Let's go before Justin comes back."
He took my hand and we ran out, but a car was pulling into the driveway. My mom's car. "Shoot!"
"What?" He asked.
"That's my mom," I said.
"Oh."
My mom got out of her car and came over to us. "Jess?" She said. "Who's this?"
"Nice to see you, too,"  I said under my breath.
"What?" She said.
"Nothing." I said.
"You said something, now don't mumble," she said with a stern face.
"Mom, this is Caleb. We are going to the dance." I pulled Caleb away and towards his car.
"Jessi!" My mom shouted.
I stopped, but didn't turn around. "What?"
"I got a job offer and I'm taking it. It's in Paris. I came back to get my stuff. I will come back next year," 
She walked inside. I turned to Caleb and his face was in shock. "That's what she does?" He asked.
I nodded, on the verge of tears. Only two people really loved me in this world, I guess. Caleb and Justin. I fell into Caleb's arms and cried. 2 minutes later, I pulled back. "Sorry, I got make-up all over your jacket.
He smiled. "It's okay. Come on." He grabbed my hand and brought me over to his car. He had let me buy him one since his other one couldn't be fixed but he made me get him a used one and it couldn't be super fancy. I was able to find him a red jeep that was really cheap and he loves it.
He opened the door for me andI got in. He got in on the other side and we started to drive towards the school. I reapplied my make-up and then when I was done, I took Caleb's hand and smiled at him.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you, too, Jessi."

Chapter 6

Jessi's POV

Caleb and I had walked into town and started walking down a street with shops all over the place. There wasn't much that interested either of us.
"Cay?" I asked.
"Hmm?" He turned to me.
"I'm sorry about my brother," I said. 
He laughed. "I'm sorry about me. I was completely stupid."
I chuckled under my breath. "No, you weren't. Justin was presuring you. He's really protective of me."
"That must me nice," Caleb said.
I smiled at memories of my brother. "Yeah, it is."
I felt something brush against my hand and I looked down and saw Caleb's hand against mine. I interlocked our fingers and he looked up at me and smiled.
"You look so cute when you're embaressed," I said.
"Y-You think I'm cute?" He asked.
"Of course I do," I said.
He smiled again like a complete idiot. A cute idiot.
Then I heard a familiar laugh. A familiar, annoying laugh. I looked up and saw Lee and her "possy" walking towards us. I slowed down my pace. Caleb noticed and turned towards me.
"What's wr-" He started to say, and then stopped and looked to where I was staring. "Hey, isn't that, that girl from school?"
I let go of his hand and stepped away, suddenly embarressed to be seen with him. Or at least to be seen with him by Lee.
Then Lee spotted me. "Jessi!!" She squeeled.
"Uh, hi," I said. She half-hugged me and gave me a "kiss" on the cheek.
Then she saw Caleb. "Why are you here with," she gave him a digusted look. "him?"
"I, um, he was just, uh. I'm not, I've never even talked to him before," I said.
I looked over at Caleb and his face was full of hurt. He shook his head and walked away. I watched his and I felt tears start to form in my eyes.
I heard Lee laugh. "What a geek!"
"Actually Lee, I lied. That "Geek" is my boyfriend." I said, hoping that it was loud enough for Caleb to hear me. I turned and looked at Lee, who was shocked.
"What?" She asked.
"He has a name. Caleb. Caleb is my boyfriend, and I like him a lot," I said, finally ruining my reputation, but I didn't care because I got to be with Caleb. If he forgave me. "And if you have a problem with that, than you better leave right now."
Lee looked at me. "Let's go girls." She snapped her fingers and they all turned and left.
I watched them leave and then sighed and a tear escaped my eye, knowing that Caleb was probably gone, but when I turned around,  I bumped into something, or someone.
I looked up and saw those gorgeous brown eyes. "I'm so sorry, Caleb. I shouldn't have even thought about lying to her."
He lifted up his hand and wiped away the tear and kissed my forehead. "It's okay." I smiled at him. "I'm hungry, let's go get some lunch."
We walked to a local cafe and we both ordered tuna fish sandwiches. When we sat down, Caleb looked at me.
"So, I'm your boyfriend?" He asked.
I looked at him. "Well, I just said that because, well. I mean if you don't like me like that, I completely understand," I said, quickly.
"No, no. Jessi? Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked, smiling.
"Of course I will, Cay."
Our sandwiches came and we started to eat.
Then Caleb suddenly looked at me. "Jessi?" He asked.
"Yeah?"I replied.
He looked at me and smiled, shyly. "Will you go to the dance with me?"
I looked at him in shock. I had never been to a dance with a guy. No one ever asked me, unless they wanted to get me in bed with them, and there were so many that I knew wanted that, that I just denied them all and went with the rest of the "possy" But I wanted to go with Caleb, I really, really wanted to.
"I know it's like a month away, but I remembered seeing the posters for it and last night, I thought about asking you and chickened out. But, now," he took hand. "you're my girlfriend."
I smiled at the word 'girlfriend.' I had never been anyone's girlfriend either because no one wanted to be my boyfriend. I smiled at Caleb and nodded.
He smiled and leaned over the table. We kissed and then finished our lunch.

Chapter 5

Caleb's POV

I smiled at her. "Great."
I led her into one of the three rooms in my apartment. It was my bedroom (the other two being the bathroom and the kitchen/living room).
There was a bed and Jessi yawned and climbed into it.
"You're sleeping in those clothes?" I asked.
"Well, I don't have anything else."
I looked at her and blushed. "You, uh, could sleep without them on."
She smiled at me. "No need to be shy, Cay."
"Cay?" I asked.
"Oh, sorry," She said. "It was just like a nickname, I don't have to call you that."
"No, it's okay. It's just that the only other person who called me that was my mom," I said, looking down and remembering my mother. She was so close to me.
"Oh. I won't call you that then."
"No, no. I like it." I took off my pants and she got out of bed and took off her shirt and pants. We both got into the bed. I wrapped my arms around her and started to play with the lace on her bra.
"Caleb?" She\ asked.
"Yeah?" I replied, nuzzling my face into her hair.
"I love you."
I  tensed up. Had I just heard her right? Did I love her back? I just met her last night. But I really do like her and she made it pretty obvious that she likes me too. Or apparently loves. And I had already told her about my past. I did love her. My shoulders relaxed and I smiled against her head.
"I-I love you, too."

I woke up the next morning and decided to make breakfast for Jessi. I quietly and slowly got out of bed, trying not to wake her. I went into the living room and got out the pancake mix and set to work. I did everything it said and then went and put the news on. A half hour later, I started to smell something burning and then I saw smoke. I stood up and saw the source was the pancakes. I jumped up and grabbed a cloth and started waving it over the pan and coughing.
"Cay! What happened?"I heard. It was Jessi.
I looked up at her. She was only in her under garments. "I tried to make you breakfast."
She laughed and walked over to me. She turned of the stove and took the cloth from me. She picked up the pan and moved it over to the sink. "I think we should get something out."
I nodded and let her clean up. She turned around when she was done and I stood there with a big cheeky grin on my face.
"What?" She asked.
"Nice outfit," I replied.
She looked down and then realized that she was just in her bra and underwear. She smiled at me and blushed.
I pulled her in, putting my hands on her bare waist and kissed her forehead and then her lips. 
"I'm gonna go get dressed," she said.
"I don't know, I kinda like this outfit."
She laughed and then put her clothes from yesterday back on. 
I walked in behind her and changed to. When we were both dressed, I went up behind her and hugged her waist. That's when I felt her stomach growl.
I laughed. "You hungry?" I asked. She nodded and kissed me. "Lets go."
We walked to McDonald's and got breakfast.And when we were done, we walked to Jessi's house.
She opened the door when we got there. "Justin!" She shouted.
Her brother, Justin, ran down the stairs and then stoped when he saw me.
"Who are you?" Justin asked me.
"Justin, this is Caleb. Caleb, this is my brother, Justin," Jessi said introducing us.
"Hello, sir," I said, sticking out my hand. I heard Jessi laugh.
Justin didn't move. He just nodded his head.
"Welp, I'm going to go change into real clothes." Jessi walked up the stairs and when she passed by Justin, she whispered something in his ear.
I wathced Justin. He stared at me with a hint of despise in his eyes and I knew that if I wasn't careful, I would get hurt.
"How old are you?" He asked.
"17," I answered.
"Can you drive?"
"Yes."
"Where do you live?"
"At the apartment complex down the street."
"Live alone?"
"Yes."
"Have any family?"
I gulped. "A brother."
"Will you take care of my sister?"
"Yes, sir."
"Stop calling him sir. He's only 25," Jessi said as she walked down the stairs.

Chapter 4

Caleb's POV

Jessi had texted me right when I had put The Shining on. It was my all time favourite horor movie and  I had seen it over 10 times.
Soon after, there was a knock on my door. I paused the movie and got up.
When I opened the door, Jessi stood there. Her face looked disgusted, I knew this was different for her. But it changed when she saw me. She smiled.
"Caleb," she said.
But I wasn't as excited to see her as she was to see me. I was still upset.
"Look, I am so, so, so sorry," she said. "I shouldn't have ignored you. I just was," she stopped.
"Was what? Affraid to be seen with me?" I asked.
She went to answer but then stopped. "That's what I thought," I said.
"But Caleb. Last night was the best night of my life. I know that I hook up with a lot of guys and I hate that about myself, but you were different. The s/x was good. Great actually, but after, I was so happy. I don't know how much you remember, but you told me the sweetest things and you told me everything you loved about me. And then," I looked at her to continue. "Then, you told me I was beautiful."
"That's because you are."
"But no one has every called me beautiful. It's just been 'hot and sexy' everywhere I go. I feel different with you because you don't see the slxt in me, you see me. Jessi," she explained.
I pulled her into me and kissed her. Then I pulled away from her and asked, "Is there anything else about last night that you didn't tell me?"
"You sang to me. Your voice is amazing" I felt myself blush. I am never drinking again.
I grabbed Jessi's waist and pulled her inside, closing the door behind her.
"Why do you live here?" Jessi asked.
I looked her in the eyes and knew that I could tell her the truth. I brought her over to the couch and she nuzzled her face into my sweatshirt while I wrapped my arm around her.
"When I was 12, my mom and my younger brother died in a car crash. My dad later commited suicide because he felt as if he couldn't live without my mom. I lived with my older brother for a litte while, but then he left and went off to live in New Zeland. I moved in with my uncle, but he soon kicked be out, so I ended up here with the little money I had," I explained.
I felt her look up at me. "Oh my gosh, Caleb," she said, She hugged me and then kissed my jaw bone.
"Don't give me any sympothy crap please. I could really do without it."
She nodded. "You know, I could give you some money," Jessi said.
"Don't. Jessi, you just met me yesterday. I am not letting you give me money," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I know, but you already made love to me. And you are different than other guys. I see something in you."
I looked down at her. Her face was so soft, and I knew that there was something about her that was different as well. " I am not taking your money. Even if I had known you for your whole life, I still wouldn't take your money."
We spent the next hour and a half, talking and getting to know each other. I learned about her brother and how he was the one that looked after her for the most part. She also told me about her parents. They didn't sound that nice.
After we were down talking, we were both starving, so we ordered a pizza. When it got here, we both ate four pieces. I loved watching her eat because she didn't care, she just stuffed her face. It was honestly one of the cutest things I had ever seen. And then she would be taking a bite and then she would look up at me and laugh. It was adorable. She was beautiful.
The pizza was gone and it was 10:30. We were half-way through the shining and she had been so scared. She ducked her head in to my chest every two minutes and pull on my sweatshirt. I would hug her and laugh.
I looked down at her. She was asleep. Her hair was down and I started to play with it, when my phone rang. She looked so peaceful and I couldn't even think about getting up to answer it. Even taking a breath worried me that I would wake her. 
I ignored the phone, but then I felt Jessi stir benieth my arm. I paused the movie and looked down at her. She rolled over and her head was in my lap. She opened her big brown eyes and stared up at me.
"What time is it?" She asked. I looked at the clock.
"11" I answered.
"Shoot! I need to go home."
"Are you walking?" I asked. She nodded as she stood up. "You could spend the night. I don't want you walking home alone this late.
She looked up st me. "Okay."

Chapter 3

Jessi's POV

I watched as Caleb walked out. His messed up bed head looked adorable, but he slouched forward in dissapointment. I hated ignoring him. Last night was honestly the best night of my night. I was always hooking up with guys, but Caleb was different. He was so much better.
"Hey, me and the girls are heading to the mall wanna come?" Lee asked me.
Lee was the schools bxtch. I was next in line, not that I wanted to, it was just to late to try and change. I already had a strong reputation. 'The girls' were her little possy, which I was a part of.
I continued to stare out the door where Caleb had just left. "No, I think I'm just going to head home," I told Lee. I turned to her and hugged her. "Bye," she hugged back, but neither of us actually cared. It was just an act that both of us went along with.
I waved bye to everyone else and then made my way home.
When I walked through the door, I bumped into my mom. "I have to go on another business trip. Be good for your brother. I'll be back next month."
Of course. Typical mom. Except I know that she isn't really going away for business. Not for that long at least. I was 99.9% sure she was having an affair, but of course dad was having one too. That one I was sure of.
So it was just me and Justin, my older brother. I sat down at the kitchen table after changing into shorts and a t-shirt. Justin came in.
"Hey Jess," he said.
"Hi justin," I replied, taking a sip of the coffee I had made.
"How was the party? How many boys this time?" he asked. he knew I was a slxt. he wasn't like that  but he didn't care about me being one because he knew that I didn't want to be. He was my best friend and I told him everything.
"The party was great. There was only one last night," I said.
"One?" Justin said surprised. I looked at him.
"Yeah. We went all the way. He was amazing."
"It's not like you to do just one," he said sitting across from me.
"I know, but he was," I tried to find the right word. "different"
Justin looked at me. "You know, just because the s/x was great, doesn't mean you love him."
But Justin didn't know. "But after, he held me in his arms and sang to me. His voice was amazing. He played with my hair and rocked me back and forth," I said. "He had whispered little sweet nothings into my ear and then told me I was beautiful. No one has ever told me I was beautiful."
Justin looked at me and smiled. "What was his name?"
I smiled and looked down at my cup. "Caleb. Hie name was Caleb Newton."
"Did you get his number?"
I nodded. I had stolen it from his phone, he didn't know though. I grabbed my phone and then created a new message
Me: Hey, I am so sorry about this morning.
He replied right away.
Caleb: Who is this??
Me: It's Jessi.
Caleb: O
Me: Listen I am really sorry. I just want a chance to explain myself. Please?
"Explain yourself?" I heard in my ear. I jumped. Justin stood behind me, looking over my shoulder.
"I, uh, kind of ignored him this morning."
Justin smirked at me and shook his head before walking out of the gigantic. Kitchen. My family was rich. Really rich.
Caleb: Umm
Me: Please Caleb. Can you at least give me a chance.
Caleb: Fine, you can come to my place, but let me worn you it isn't probably like anything you're used to.
He gave me the address and I got changed before walking down the street. I came to the address he gave me and looked up at the building.
