*Me talking to my dad.*

Dad: "What's your favorite number?"
Me: "Uhh, I don't know? 18?"
Dad: "You sure?"
Me: "Yeah because that's when you become an adult and stuff like that."
Dad: "Okay."
Me: "Why?"
Dad: "Because I'm gonna play that number in roulette."
Me: "AWWWW! Thanks!"

True story.
I almost cried because I thought it was so sweet of him! He picked me out of my older sister and my younger brother! <3 :) I'm cheesy. I don't care! :)

The Addict

~Chapter 3~

On Sunday I woke up at 1:00 in the afternoon. I forgot to set my alarm and Luke was picking me up in an hour! Since I was so upset and stressed about what happened the other day, I decided to cancel my date with Luke. I grabbed my phone off my nightstand. I dialed Luke’s number.
“Hello?” Said Luke.
“Hey..” I said back.
“Hey, Babe. What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Well, I don’t know how to say this but uh.”
“Oh God.” Luke said worried. “Are you.. Pregnant?”
“What?! No! We didn’t even ha--”
“Yeah..” Luke said cutting me off. “What do you need to tell me?”
“Well I’m not pregnant… I just think that we should hold off our date. Before you say anything, I know we were BOTH looking forward to it, but something popped up.” I said full of regret. I hated lying to Luke, but I didn’t want  anyone to know about my addiction! It’s bad enough that Jenny knows!
“Oh.. That’s okay, Ally. I understand. I’m just happy that you told me.” He said sounding disappointed.
“Thanks for understanding, Babe. Love you!”
“Love you, too. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I hung up and put my phone back on my night stand. I crawled into bed trying to fall asleep. I couldn’t even focus on sleeping. So many things were rushing through my mind. How’s Jenny handling this?, What if Luke found out that I was lying?, Does anyone else secretly know? It was just too much for me to think of. When I finally decided to get up out of bed, since this wasn’t working, I heard my phone vibrate. I picked it up and saw:
Meet me at The Blue Café. Now.
It was from Jenny. What could she possibly want now? I thought to myself. I replied with:
Okay. My mom will bring me.
“MOOOOOM!” I shouted.
“What?” she said quietly as she walked in my room.
“Jenny wants to see me. Can you bring me to The Blue Café?” I asked.
“You just saw her! Oh, alright!” She said getting her car keys. We drove downtown to the café. I said bye to my mom and walked into the café. I found Jenny siting at a table with her usual coffee shake and a frozen hot chocolate for me. Since I wasn’t doing anything special, I put on plain black sweatpants with a Journey tee.
“Hi.” I said nervously sitting in my chair.
“Hi, Ally.” Jenny said giving me a cold look.
“Thanks for the coffee. What am I here for?” I said with a nervous laugh.
“Well, I need to talk to you about your addiction.” She said.
I rolled my eyes. “What about it? I think we cleared it up yesterday.”
“Well. I don’t think you started this for no reason.”
“Oh.. You wanna know why I do this?”
“Yeah..” She said while taking a sip of her drink.
“Well, When I was 15 I was judged and made fun of. Everything I did, said, or even thought would be made fun of.” I said. “I had no friends. After a year of that ‘pain’ I was introduced to all those drugs by a group of people.” Of course I lied to her! I didn’t want anyone to know my other secret.
“Oh… That’s it?” She asked.
“Yeah..” I said quietly drinking my drink.
“So.. you’re an addict! You are obsessed with a drug! You’re a drugee! Like how people obsess over a CRUSH! All you CRUSH are pills!”
Wow. I thought. I didn’t know she had that in her. “Oh my God. Do we have to do this in public?” I asked almost embarrassed but annoyed at the same time.
“You know what? I wanted to work things out! But It was just another mistake, like becoming your friend! So.. We don’t have to do ANYTHING together! It’s me or the pills!” She screamed as she ran out of the café.
Everyone was staring at me.
Well, this is fantastic! I thought to myself. Eh, I wasn’t gonna let it bother me! I just sat back down and finished my drink.

The Addict

~Chapter 2~

Jenny froze. I froze. She was terrified.
“W-what is this?!” She said almost screaming. “I came in here to see why you were taking so long, but I guess I shouldn’t have!”, Jenny said while pointing to the crushed up half of a pill.
I just stood there. “Please don’t tell my mom!” I begged.
“Why?! Why doesn’t she know? Why shouldn’t she know?!” Asked Jenny, grabbing my arm and storming out. We went back to the table, Jenny asked for the check. She paid for the meal. We walked out and into the car.
“So.. How long have you been doing this? Why are you doing this? I won’t bring you home until you tell me.” Said Jenny, sternly.
“I started last year.” I said a little chocked up.
“Oh.. So you’re like.. an addict?” Jenny asked while we turned on my street.
“Yeah. I guess..”
“Do you cut?”
“No.” I answered.
“Why? Did you think that it would be harder for you to cover up and easier for me to see?”
“I don’t know..” I quietly said. I got out of the car and ran up to my door. I looked back and saw Jenny crying in her car.
All night I thought about this. I just sat in bed worried about this. I also had a date tomorrow with my boyfriend, Luke. Luke was amazing. He had shaggy brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, good grades, and played the guitar! I was so excited to see him tomorrow! We were going bowling. But I was also scared. What if Jenny told him about what happened tonight. I don’t want to lose him. I practically cried myself to sleep.. If only Jenny knew why I was like this. Why I do it..

(LOL. This was also boring.. & short! Dude… I’m sorry! :/ ItWILL get better at some point though! Don’t worry! I still enjoy feedback! So, write! Thanks for reading this. It’s my first book, so it means A LOT!!)

The Addict

~Chapter 1~

My friend, Jenny, was taking me to dinner. She is the type of girl who had good grades, really pretty, smart, and talented. She has blonde wavy hair, blue eyes, and has the most infectious laugh!. I had brown eyes and I brown hair... I was looking for clothes to wear, but I didn’t have many. 5 sweatpants, 2 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of sneakers, 2 dressy shirts, 5 tees, and 3 pairs of earrings. I decided to wear my skinny jeans, a dress shirt which was a pink top with ruffled short sleeves and red lips on the front. I put on my pink flats. Just plain pink flats and wore red earrings that were only red circles that dangled. Nothing fancy. I had long hair that was straight and ended a couple inches from my shoulders. I kept it straight. I waited for Jenny to pull up in my drive way. I paced back and forth in my living room. Then I saw a white corvette pull up in my drive way. It was Jenny. I shouted ‘Bye!’ as I walked out the door. I greeted my friend and got in the car.
“Hey gurll.” Jenny said.
“Hi!” I replied putting on my seatbelt.
“So what restaurant are we going to?” I asked.
“It’s called Fung Chi.. It’s Chinese.”
“Oh! Yum.” I said as I turned on the radio. “Ohmigosh! I love this song!” I exclaimed as one of my favorite songs came on. It was called ‘Cocaine’ by Eric Clapton.
When we got to Fung Chi, I was so surprised! I didn’t think that it would be this extravagant! We walked in and sat at a table.
“So, what do you think?” Jenny asked.
“I love it! It’s so nice!” I replied. The waitress walked over to our table.
“So how may I help you?” She asked.
“I would like the orange chicken and a diet coke please.” Said  Jenny.
“I would like sesame chicken and a Shirley temple.” I said while I handed her our menus. Me and Jenny chatted about the usual. Asking each other about how we were.
“Hey. Can I go to the bathroom”, I asked.
“Sure!”, said Jenny. “Don’t take too long!” I walked to the bathroom. I waited for everyone to leave and checked to make sure no one else was coming in. Okay. It was empty. I took a pill out of my pocket. And put it on the counter. I crushed it, lined it up, and took out a straw that was in my pocket too. I already cut it at home, so it was all ready. I snorted the first half and right before the second Jenny came in.
“The foods at our--”

She saw me.

Sorry if it was boring for you, but it will get MUCH MORE exciting!! Trust me. :)

The Addict

~Prolouge~

I searched through the drawer franticly. I tossed some clothes around, some on the floor. I couldn't find it. Then my hand touched something. I took it out of the drawer, relieved to find the bottle of pills. My mom walked by.

"What are you doing?" She asked nervously.

"Nothing!! Just looking for something to wear later." I said, quickly hiding the pills.

"Oh. Alright. Pick up these clothes?" My mom asked pointing to the clothes on the floor.

"Uh hu."

When  my mom left I ran into the bathroom and took out a pill. My hands shook as I tried to crush it. As soon as I did, I snorted it up my nose. Nobody knew abou my addiction. My mom, dad, boyfriend, or bestfriend. All without a clue.
