*A Sequel to Who Would Of Thought

Chapter 17
Evanna's POV

Nicole got to come home today.
We were all excited, except for Harry. He hated the fact that she doesn't remember, and he blames himself for it. He hasn't left him room since yesterday when left from the hospital. The only time he has left was to shower or get something to eat, or walking around the hotel, mopping.
It wasn't his fault, even though he begs other wise. It was a freak accident.
That was all it was.
"Harry, we are going to the hospital, get dressed." Louis banged on his door.
Silence.
"Hazza come on." Niall begged behind Louis.
"I don't want to go." He replied.
I sighed as Louis wrapped him one arm around my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck hugging him.
"Will he ever forgive himself?" I whispered softly.
"I don't know love. He might, eventually." Louis answered.
I dropped my arms and interlaced my fingers with his as we headed out for the hospital.
"Brooke! Lets go! Don't forget her bag!" Niall shouted in rememberance.
"Got it!" She sang and hooked arms with Niall playfully.
We all headed out, leaving Harry in his room quietly.

Nicoles POV

"Nicole?" Evii asked walking through my hospital room door.
"Yeah?" I replied.
I was sitting up on my bed with my feet hanging off to the side, my hair, washed again and left down wavy and blonde.
"Nice hair." Brooke teased.
"I know, I need it dyed again. Leave me alone." I huffed.
"You ready to leave?" Louis, the spikey hair guy asked.
"Yeah, just need to figure out how to get dressed." I replied.
Evii grabbed my crutches and escorted me down the hallway to the bathroom and helped me change along with Brooke.
"Hold still." Brooke ordered as she carefully slid my jeans on and then replacing the boot carefully.
"Im trying." I replied clutching onto the sink tightly.
"Okay, you're done." Evii replied tugging my shirt down around my waist lightly.
"It hurts." I replied.
"I bet. You'll be fine in a couple of days. I promise." Evanna tried comforting me.
As we walked back to the room, I noticed that one of the boys was missing.
"Brooke, Evanna, Wheres the green eyed boy? Harry?" I asked.
"He was busy today and couldn't make it." Brooke answered.
"Oh." I replied.
As I slipped my one shoe on, I noticed flashing lights coming from the emergency door exit.
"Whats going on outside?" I replied.
"You know the band OneDirection?" Niall replied in an irish accent.
I nodded.
"Well we are 2 of the 5 members. They know what happened and are waiting for us to go outside."
'Oh' I said without words.
"Here." Evanna handed me sunglasses like hers and a red hat to make it out to the car.
We shoved through the raging crowd and into the car, pulling away and heading for the hotel.

                                  Chapter 22

         “Oh my God, he just texted me,” Savannah said.
           “What did he say?” Ava asked.
           “It just says ‘hey.’ I’m not gonna answer.”
           “No! You have to! You have to pretend like everything is okay,” Ava said.
           “I want everything to actually be okay,” Savannah said.
           “Sav, no one is going to feel bad for you if you go crawling back to Shane. They’ll think you’re dumb for letting him use you again. You have to use him.
           “You’re right,” Savannah said.
           “Text him back, act like everything is fine. Flirt with him. Make him think that you’re falling for his trap.”
           Acting like everything was okay was actually so much easier than Savannah thought. With Ava’s help, they got Shane to ‘admit’ through text that he was sorry for how he’d been treating Savannah lately, acting as if he didn’t know her. Ava told Savannah to ask Shane to hang out Friday after the game, just like the old times, but Shane said he couldn’t because he’d be at his dad’s.
           “I’m sure he’s going to his dad’s,” Ava rolled her eyes. “He’s either hooking up with Lex, or going to Scarlett’s party.”
           “Whatever,” Savannah said. “So what is the plan exactly? After I act like everything is alright, how do I show him I was just playing him the whole time?”
           “I haven’t thought that far ahead yet. We just have to play this out and see where it takes us.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
           Shane was feeling so cool at Scarlett’s party that Friday night after the game with all his varsity football buddies and the cheerleaders. As time went on, more and more people from his school started showing up. He got a text from Savannah, unaware that it was actually Ava texting him from her phone. He ignored it to party. He felt bad about lying to Savannah, but missing out on one of Scarlett’s parties would raise questions- ones he didn’t know how to answer.
           The music was loud and Shane was on his sixth KeyStone Light. It was the cheapest kind so that’s why everyone got it, but it usually took about seven or eight until Shane was actually drunk. He started pressing his body against more and more girls as they walked in, but wasn’t planning on getting with them. Pictures were being taken and girls asked Shane to get in, kissing him on the cheek with beers and joints in their hands.
           “Yo, where’d you get that? Let me get a hit,” Shane took the joint from one of the girls’ hands and ended up smoking the whole thing by himself. He passed by Ava, grabbing her butt to pull her closer but she pulled away. Shane was desperate for some action, especially now that he was just rejected. He sat down on a recliner and Willow Grey, a pretty sophomore with gorgeous, ocean colored eyes, handed him another beer and sat on his lap. He took a sip and then called Autumn Oakland over, an outgoing, blonde junior, to share her joint with him.
           “I’ll let you have it, on one condition,” Autumn said. She handed him the joint and took a seat on the arm of the chair, opposite of Willow. He looked up at her and she started making out with him. Willow started kissing his neck and Shane pulled both of them in closer.
           Other people soon took notice of this and started cheering Shane on for getting with the two girls at once, who took turns either kissing his lips or neck. Shane’s eyes were closed but he could tell that a flash went off.
                                  Chapter 23
         They say, she’s in the class A team, stuck in her day dream, been this way since 18 but lately,” Ava’s cell phone on her bedside table started ringing, playing her favorite song. Why the hell was Savannah calling her at 9:47 AM on a Saturday? Ava had the worst hangover from Scarlett’s party the night before but answered anyway.
           “Hello?” she answered sleepily.
           “Did you see the picture?” Savannah said through her tears.
           “What?” Ava yawned as she rolled over and stretched.
           “On Facebook, Jade posted pictures from a party last night, of Shane. He’s getting with Willow and Autumn!” Savannah cried.
           “Don’t cry, it’s alright,” Ava tried to console her. “But I know, I was at that party last night.” Ava got up and walked over to her computer and logged onto Facebook.
           “Ava, he said he liked me! And he ignored the text we sent him yesterday. Now I think he’s done with me,” Savannah said.
           “Trust me, you’ll know when Shane is done with you,” Ava spoke of past experience. “He’s not done with you yet.”
           “Ava can I come over?” Savannah asked, trying to stop herself from crying.
           “Like, as a friend?” Ava said almost too eagerly.
           “Yeah,” Savannah said. “Isn’t that what we are?” It was weird for her to say that. If you asked her a year ago, she’d tell you that she punched that girl and hated her. And now look who she was running to with her problems.
           “Yeah, I’ll leave my door open, just walk right in,” Ava said.
           Ava clicked on her notifications and she was tagged in some pictures from the party last night. Was that her kissing Derek Smith?? And why was Peter Hansen giving her a piggy back ride? She hated him. She started stalking the whole album and saw the picture Savannah was talking about.
           It was a little blurry, but Shane’s jaw line stood out as he reached up to make out with Autumn Oakland. And sitting on his lap was Willow Grey, with Shane’s hand on her butt as she kissed his neck. And then Ava spotted herself in the background, smiling bright while photo-bombing, holding a KeyStone and giving a thumbs up.
           She looked at some of the comments, which said things like “Get it, Shane” or “That’s my boy” which Ava found disgusting. Soon she heard her front door open and Savannah came upstairs into her room. Her eyes were bright green and the tip of her nose was pink, like she was out in cold weather for too long.
           Ava instinctively got up and gave her a hug. And this time, Savannah hugged her back.
           “Ava?” Savannah said.
           “Yeah, Sav?” Ava asked.
           “We have to get back at him.”
                                  Chapter 24
        “I’ve already thought of the perfect plan,” Ava said.
           “What is it?”
           “Shane has so many friends who will do anything for him. Everyone hates us and there’s a strength in numbers that Shane has that we lack. Shane can go ask one of his dumb friends to find out why we’re always together, but we’ll just say it’s because you’re my tutor. Shane will know something’s up, but no one else will. And how does Shane explain to his friends who think he’s so superior and confident that he’s afraid of his ex’s? Afraid of his ex’s that everyone hates! Someone will always have Shane’s back and the thing is, we don’t. That’s why we need to be here for each other, taking Shane down.”
           “And how exactly are we taking him down?”
           “Shane thinks that you’re going to talk to him whenever he wants you to, yet he ignores some of your texts. Am I right?” Ava asked. Savannah nodded. “So give in. Make him think he’s right. Play him just as much as he’s playing you. Only the difference is, you’re going to win the Shane Game, Sav. Here’s how we’re going to do it. Shane already knows that I know he likes you. He freaked out when I brought it up to him the other day. But what he doesn’t know is that we’re in this together. We’re going to freak everyone out, and start hanging out together, maybe even hopefully, truly be friends. No one will know what’s going on. Especially Shane. Soon he’ll know we’re in this together, but he won’t know what to expect.”
           “So basically, the two most hated girls in school become best friends, to become the most powerful players in the Shane Game?”
           “Exactly!” Ava said, so happy that Savannah understood the first part of her plan. “But that’s only step one. I still need help on the rest of the plan.”
           “What were you thinking?”
           “Shane can tell you as many times as he wants that he likes you, but until he proves it, he’s not getting anywhere. He thinks you’re going to stick around so he can lead you on a leash, tying you up to wait there for him until he gets back from hooking up with other girls. Do you really think he’s going to tell you about last night? No. Give him the cold shoulder and act really annoyed. He won’t know why, and he’ll need some help figuring it out. And who’s the middle man here who’s friends with both of you? Me. I’ll basically tell him that you’re really upset about it, and that’s when he’s going to apologize,” Ava said.
           “But the thing is, he’s still going to be getting with other girls. I’m not stupid, I know he’s going to. After he basically begs for my forgiveness and promises not to get with other girls, we’re going to have to set up a situation where he’s bound to get with another girl. And we’ll see if he tells me or not if he got with the girl we set up as bait,” Savannah said.
           “Oh my God, that’s perfect! We’ll get him alone with this girl and make sure she instigates it. Whether he rejects her or goes along with it, let’s see if he tells you about it,” Ava said.
           “Because that will prove if he really likes me or not and means what he’s been saying. But what girl can we get to be the bait?”
           “I mean, he was all over a bunch of girls last night. I’m not just talking about hooking up with Willow and Autumn. You know how when you’re high how it releases a lot of dopamine which is the love endorphin? It makes people really hor.ny if they smoke enough of it,” Ava said.
          “How do you know that?” Savannah asked, shocked that Ava knew of psychological brain patterns.
          “I’m not dumb!” Ava laughed.
          “I know,” Savannah smiled. “But what was he doing?”
          “He only went after the pretty girls who of course didn’t care but he was grinding with them, kissing them on the cheek, he even grabbed my bu.tt at one point which is weird-”
          “What??”
          “Don’t worry, I swear I didn’t do anything with him. I pulled away,” Ava defended herself.
          “No, Ava this is perfect. Even if he was high, he still tried to do something with you. You just said he only went after the pretty girls, and let’s be honest, what guy doesn’t want to get with you? It would be another reason for Shane to brag and feel cool- you have to get with him!”
         “You want me to be the bait?”
         “Yes!”
                                  Chapter 25
        “Shane, get up! It’s 2:30!” Shane’s mom yelled at him, coming in his room and turning on the lights.
          “Noooo,” he pulled the covers over himself. His phone chimed for about the twelfth time in the last hour.
          “Who keeps texting you?” Mrs. Palmer asked, grabbing Shane’s iPhone off his nightstand.
          “No!” Shane immediately shot up and took his phone back. The sound wasn’t him receiving texts, it was notifications from Facebook of what he could only imagine ended up online.
          “Clean up this room, it’s a mess,” Mrs. Palmer said and then left.
          Shane checked through his phone to see he was tagged in a picture with a bunch of likes and comments. “Get it Shane!” “That’s my boy!” What were they talking about? The picture wouldn’t load so he had to go on his computer to see it.
          “No,” he whispered to himself when he finally saw it. He thought it was just a dream that he got with Willow and Autumn, he didn’t know it actually happened. What would he say to Savannah? He couldn’t deny it- it was on the internet! He looked through more pictures and saw himself kissing Casey Reynolds on the cheek, grinding with Paige and Tiff, giving Kayla Beck a piggy back ride, playing beer pong with a bunch of people, taking a hit of everyone’s joint, and so much more that he barely remembered.
          He logged off and went on to Twitter to check Savannah’s latest tweets. There were three recent ones from today. The first was just a simple cry face emoticon. Was that about finding the picture of Shane? The second really shocked him- “I love my best friend Ava <3” Was Ava the one who showed Sav the picture?? Maybe it was just a typo and she didn’t mean to say Ava. But the third confirmed Shane’s fears. It was a picture of Savannah smiling while Ava kissed her on the cheek.
          “Sh.tttt!!!” Shane yelled at no one when he accidentally retweeted the picture. He quickly deleted it, but he knew Savannah would get an e-mail about it. About ten seconds later he refreshed his news feed to see two identical tweets from Savannah and Ava.
          They were each only two words long, but it made him feel so sh.tty.
          He re-read the tweets a million times, hoping it would make them disappear-
          “Hi Shane.”
                                  Chapter 26
    “Yo, did you see Savannah and Ava’s tweets on Saturday?” Nick placed his lunch tray down on the table that Monday during lunch and took his usual spot next to Shane.
     “No,” Shane lied. “Why?”
     “They both said ‘hi Shane,’” Nick said.
     “That’s freaking weird,” Shane said.
     “Ava posted a picture of the two of them on Facebook,” Eli joined in.
     “Savannah tweeted the same one,” Tyler said.
     “What, do you like stalk my ex’s or something?” Shane tried to make a joke.
     “No, it’s just weird that they were hanging out. Sav and Ava hate each other,” Eli said.
     “Shhhh,” Tyler tilted his head toward the two girls walking by.
     “Sav, sit with me!” the guys heard Ava say as she took a seat at her table right next to them with all the cheerleaders. “Guys, is it alright if Savannah sits with us?” Ava asked her friends.
     “Yeah, of course,” they said a little cautiously. Ava and Savannah smirked at each other, pleased with the confusion going on amongst the other kids.
     “Let’s hope Savannah doesn’t break the table,” Shane laughed and the others joined in. Savannah and Ava both heard but ignored it. Savannah wasn’t popular enough to stand up for herself against Shane, and while Ava was, she couldn’t get involved without making it obvious that they were only friends to make Shane’s life miserable.
     However that wasn’t the only reason that they were friends. They’d hung out the entire weekend, having a sleepover at Ava’s and realized how alike they were. They vented to each other, telling some pretty personal secrets. They cried together and realized how much the other needed them. But they also laughed together, as they found out they have the same sarcastic sense of humor. And although neither wanted to admit it, they felt themselves becoming best friends.
     Ava handed Savannah a mirror so she could check her make-up. “And let’s hope her reflection doesn’t break the mirror,” Shane made another joke.
     “I guess Ava is trying to help her look pretty,” Nick said. “So sweet.” They watched as Ava poured some M&M’s into Savannah’s hand.
     “Oh my God, is Savannah actually eating? I heard she’s bulimic. Guys, let’s clap in support,” Tyler started a slow clap which turned into a full on applause from Shane’s table. Savannah licked the M&M and chucked it at Shane’s table, hitting Tyler right in the face, leaving behind a blue smudge from the dye. She and Ava laughed and so did the other cheerleaders.
                                  Chapter 26 (cont'd)
     “I don’t understand why they’re so mean to you. Not to be a total creep but we were listening to you and Ava talking just now and you are so funny,” Dani said.
       “Isn’t she?” Ava smiled.
       “And don’t worry about what they say. You’re gorgeous,” Tiff said.
       “Thanks,” Savannah said, thinking she was saying it out of pity.
       “No, seriously! We always say that and Shane is like, ‘stop, no’ and we’re like, ‘stop, yes! We’re so jealous’ and ugh, he’s a jerk sometimes,” Tiff laughed.
       “Yeah honestly, like what did you ever do to him?” Paige asked.
       “I don’t even know,” Savannah half-laughed. It was weird that these girls were being nice to her, considering she always thought they were on Shane’s side.
       “We’re going out to Wendy’s to get a quick lunch. Do you two want anything?” Paige asked.
       Savannah was going to say no thanks, thinking they were just asking to be polite, but Ava wanted her to eat and ordered, “two small chocolate frostees please.” Savannah smiled and said thanks.
       “Paige,” Nick called her over. She said, “I’m not getting you anything from Wendy’s, if that’s what you want.”
       “No, just come here,” he said. She did and Tiff and Dani followed.
       “Why the hell are you sitting with Savannah Grant?” he asked.
       "Yeah seriously, like what the f.ck is that about?” Shane asked, just so everyone knew he ‘still hated Sav.’
       “She’s friends with Ava, we’re not just gonna tell her to leave. It’s just for one day. And besides, she’s really nice,” Paige said.
       “I never knew she was so funny,” Tiff said.
       “What??” Shane said in disbelief. “You like her?” They nodded and Shane made throwing up noises, as all the guys did when someone did something they didn’t like.
       "You’re so immature,” she laughed and they started walking to her car.
       “They don’t even want Sav over there,” Shane said, taking a bite of his food.
       “Oh my God, I forgot to tell you guys!” Nick said. “I heard a rumor about Savannah. Apparently she cuts herself!”
       The guys at the table burst out laughing and Savannah and Ava discreetly looked over. They missed whatever was said but realized one person, for the first time, wasn’t laughing, straight faced and stone cold.
       “That’s not true,” Shane said.
Note: I can't believe we're already more than halfway into this story :(
                                  Chapter 27
      “You don’t think that’s funny??” Nick asked shocked.
         “I just know for a fact that it’s not true,” Shane lied for her.
         “Ryan saw the cuts on her wrist, it is true,” Nick said. And Shane knew it was him who was responsible for these cuts, but he kept defending her anyway.
         “Or maybe it was her cat who constantly scratches her, just like how it did a year ago when I dated her, you f..cking insensitive d.ck,” Shane got up and left the table.
         No one said anything. They didn’t even know how to respond to that. They started talking quietly to each other but Savannah couldn’t hear what they were saying.
         "Did you hear that?” Ava asked.
         “No, what did they say?”
         “Nick was like, ‘Since when does Shane care so much about Savannah?’ I think he just stood up for you,” Ava said.
         “That doesn’t make sense though,” Savannah said. Standing up for Savannah would mean that he didn’t agree with his friends, and that would raise questions. “Maybe he meant what he said.”
         “I mean, it’s not like he’s talking to you though or acknowledging you. Maybe his friends just went too far this time.”
         They stopped talking about it and were invited into a conversation by some of the other girls sitting with them. Savannah had always thought she hated these girls, but they were actually pretty nice. Ava had told Savannah at their sleepover that she didn’t really like anyone but Paige because she heard they were always talking about her behind her back that she was a sl.t, but she was nice to them anyway. She couldn’t afford to have her cheerleading friends drop her.
         Paige, Tiff, and Dani came back right at the end of lunch and gave everyone what they ordered. Everyone went to their classes after that and for the rest of the day whenever they passed in the halls they’d smile or wave to Savannah. She knew this didn’t mean that they were friends, but it gave her some hope that they wouldn’t join in on making fun of her when Shane and his friends did.
         After school she went to Mr. Ian’s room because she was required to tell him about the progress Ava was making and if the tutoring sessions were working.
         “It’s going really well, we’ve only had three lessons so far but I can see it working out. We just take it really slow and she’s starting to understand,” Savannah smiled.
         “So you want to continue tutoring her?” Mr. Ian asked.
         “Of course!” Savannah smiled.
         “I’m sorry, I have to ask. Are you guys…friends now?” Mr. Ian said. “I heard her two of my freshmen talking about how they saw you guys eating lunch together and talking this morning in a friendly way.”
         “Yeah, Ava’s my best friend!” Savannah said.
         “Savannah,” Mr. Ian said, not believing her for a minute.
         “Oh my God, Sav!” Ava stopped in the doorway before heading to practice. “I’m going to call you after practice, I have so much to tell you!”
         “About?”
         She gave her a look and Savannah instantly knew. “Oh my God, this should be good,” Savannah said.
         "Just come over my house, it’s a lot!” Ava said and then went to practice.
         “Savannah, are you kidding me?” Mr. Ian said once Ava left.
         “I actually really like her,” Savannah said. “Thank you for setting this tutoring up. Otherwise Ava never would have become my best friend.”
         “Just be careful of what you’re getting yourself into,” Mr. Ian said.
         "Trust me. We’re completely prepared.”
