It's certain types of music though if you think about it, because most people that consider themselves as emo listen to dubstep, heavy metal or rock in general.

I'm not stereotyping. But slitting your wrists doesn't make you emo, iff you listen to like Nicki Minaj and wear some bright colours; you're hardly emo. Not being hypocritical

Sorry if it came off rude, I didn't mean it to be! My point was like, using the word emo at all is technically being stereotypical because emo is a stereotype. I agree that slitting your wrists doesn't make you emo, but neither does the clothes you wear or the music you listen to.
