No Happy Ending

||CHAPTER FOUR||

Diana’s POV:

He was a strange boy. But a damn good-looking one. I headed down the deserted hallway. Only the people that are physically dangerous to others end up here, locked away so that no harm can be done to others. Jaden, he did seem quite dangerous. I opened the mistresses’ door. I coughed for her attention. She spun in her chair; there was a cigarette in between her right fingers. She looked at me.

“Yes?” her voice echoed.

“Ma’am, there’s a new boy here. His name is Jaden.” I said, softly. She raised an eyebrow at me.

“So?”

I swallowed, “Well, he’s different from all the others that come here.”

“Ah.” She threw her cigarette out of the window, “What did you say his name was?”

“Jaden,” I croaked.

She smiled at me, “Send him in.”

I nodded and dashed down the hallway again.

“Barry, Garry, go and get the new boy out. The Mistress wants to see him.”

“Yes, Miss.” The two big boned, spotty boys carried chains down into the cell. I waited outside. I heard shouting. Jaden really didn’t like these two. I smiled. The mistress would definitely like this one. Jaden came out with chains on his hands and feet. He looked at me and then looked away. He couldn’t walk fast enough and so the boys lifted him off his feet. He swore at them to let him down. He was angry of course. I lead them to the mistresses’ door. The boys threw Jaden onto the ground. He growled at them and spat at them when he got to his feet again.

“Thank you boys, you’re needed no more.” They bowed and skipped back. Jaden huffed and rolled his eyes.

||CHAPTER THREE||

Jaden’s POV:

I groaned, and watched her leave. I didn’t actually deserve to be here. I sat with my knees up and my arms resting on them, I laid my head against the brick wall. I closed my eyes.

I was walking down a narrow road when I heard loud screaming and shouting. It seemed that since I wasn’t doing anything, I might as well quickly see what this was all about. As I crept across the dark and lonely streets, the screaming and shouting became louder. I came across a wall and peeked to see what was happening behind it. There was a woman, a beautiful woman; she was being harassed by four men. I couldn’t just stay there and watch these men do this to a defenceless young woman. I looked at these men, they each had a gun. Great. I looked to my left and found a baseball bat on the ground. The four of the men had their backs to me so I decided that I’d make my move on them. A baseball bat against four guns. You’d have to be a total idiot to do what I was doing. I crept behind the first man and smacked him hard until he passed out and his body collided with the ground beneath him. Yes, the other three were aware now and the second one almost hit my nose with his elbow but quickly, I ducked and punched him, sending him flying to the ground. The third came running and just as he was about to take out his gun, the baseball bat smacked it away and I had the perfect advantage of kicking his stomach and made him fall onto the second one.

“Don’t you dare.” The fourth one spat at me. I stopped moving; he was holding his gun right at my forehead. Unexpectedly, the woman had taken off her heels and thrown them at the back of his head as a distraction. He turned to face her, and that’s when I lifted my bat and swung it on the side of his face and he smashed himself onto the ground. The woman was panting, loudly. The four men were now lying on the floor. I heard the sirens. The police were on their way. Good. When they arrived it was introduced to me that since there was no proof of someone being harassed and that the first man I had attacked was now dead, I was claimed a murderer. The women was no help, she was foreign and didn’t know how to tell them what had happened. I was handcuffed and was on my way to prison.

I opened my eyes. And now I’m here.

||CHAPTER TWO||

Diana’s POV:

I’ve never seen anyone quite like him. His firm, muscular body, his eyes gleaming bright green in the dark, his hair dark as ashes, and his voice, deep and demanding. I swallowed, looking at him made feel uneasy. I wonder what this boy could have done to end up in here. But anyhow, I was glad that he was. I held my head high and said,

“What’s your name?”

He just stared at me with those catlike eyes.

“Jaden.” His voice was so low that I was barely able to make out what he had said. Jaden. I smiled. Even his name made him sound charming and, well...irresistible. He was becoming inpatient.

“Why am I here?” he asked, clutching his cell bars and looking at me in a way which made my heart sink.

“Why don’t you tell me that?” I said, smiling. He continued to stare at me.

“I didn’t do anything wrong.” He was angry; this made him appear even more attractive. God, I was losing my mind. I bit my lip.

“I’m sure you didn’t. But then again, you wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t done anything wrong.” I smiled.

He groaned, “Who are you?”

“My name is Diana.” I gave him one last smile and left.
