My name is Abigail, I'm a 19 year old girl who is trying to figure life out. I am currently going to college to study english and psychology. I have an amazing boyfriend who, as cliche as it souds, I love more than anything. I love poetry, Ron Pope, and Ellen Hopkins. I spent my entire high school career with my nose in a book; in my opinion, nothing is better than a mug of hot chocolate and good book on a rainy day.
You are a wonderful person! I just now read your bio and I could say we are similar. I write poetry though, keep it to myself most of the time. But I want to be an Author and write stories. Good luck with everything! But you shouldn't need it :D
Aww thank you(: haha I love poetry! I love writing in general, but something about poetry I just really enjoy. I kept my poems to myself for years and just lately have beginning to share it with people. Really? I want to do that but I can never finish a story I start haha I get bored and move on to a new idea :P I want to brome a psychologist and help troubled teens, like those that suffer from eating disorders and depression, self harm, all that kind of stuff. Thank you! Good luck to you too(:
You are welcome!! Yea, poetry is beautiful! It's good to show others, I just hate when they take it and claim it though. XD I get bored of my books sometimes, so I just switch off and on from each book with new ideas. It's a lot harder this way because you forget which is about what. But I like to read through my book before writing more. That's great! It's nice to know people care sometimes :)
Wow I just got a notification for this lol no actually we met online and started talking as friends and I found it really interesting learning about his culture and then over time developed feelings for him and yeah so we just celebrated six months on tuesday haha(:
" just cause you can write/say something doesn’t mean you should "
^--- oooooh, I like youuuuu ;)
And heck yes, so many people get offended too quickly over the internet. Or rather... when they get offended, they don't seem to be able to deal with it. The hard truth is that if you (not YOU but just like anyone) gets offended by something I say, it's not MY problem, it's their's! Like, I know that sounds really hard but it's the truth and that's how it goes in the real world. xD
And I don't mean that for stuff like being ra....cist or whatever, because that's different, but you know what I mean? People need to calm down and chill. Not everyone is gonna agree with you - actually, most people AREN'T. Honestly, the only person who your opinion HAS to matter to is YOU. Like, that's it. Anyone else who takes on board what you've said has just proven that they're mature/smart enough to realise that the only way you're gonna gain knowledge is by listening.
*sigh* I could rant and rant about this. Clearly. xD
Awh, that's a lovely dream to have♥ You must have so much patience then, hahaha. I probably couldn't ever do something like that. You're inspirational!~ :D
hahaha thank you! Sydnee (brighterthananyone) is an ANGEL honestly. She's just so cuuuuute, and we're currently having fun fangirling together over doctor who and lotr. xD (cause we cool like that yoooo:* boom)
I don't think I really helped much, but you're welcome! ^-^
Hahaha, I don't have a tumblr or facebook or anything either. xD I'm not a fan of social media stuff (but I have an instagram because the filters are pwetty~) But when people talk about romanticising mental illnesses or disorders, it's more along the lines of when you find quotes that speak of cutting as a good thing, that promote acts like starving yourself. A lot of tumblr blogs, for example, do that - I'm sure you've heard of pro-ana and pro-mia blogs, which, at a base value, encourage those who want to lose weight to starve themselves or believe that eating disorders are a good/healthy thing.
There's a big difference between romanticising and speaking about mental illness. Same for complaining about or suffering from it. And as far as I personally am concerned, your quotes don't do that at all. I can't remember reading one that goes along with that at all. Besides, you're at liberty to write what you want, right? ^-^ (as long as it doesn't go against the rules xD)
But uh... I hope that made sense?
The reason so many people recognise the promotion and romanisation of depression and self-harm and eating disorders (that whole basket of stuff) is because it spreads it, encourages more people, and completely goes against the idea of recovery.
I'm passionate about this subject. xD
I dunno if you know the user BrighterThanAnyone? She has a lot of quotes that deal with topic pretty well as well.
Besides, you write beautiful poetry. You shouldn't get in trouble for that.
Thing is, so many people on the internet don't know how to take things at face value. So you've got to be careful. -.-
(By the way, don't assume I'm like, an expert or anything on this subject hahaha. I'm not even sure why you chose me to ask but HEY there's my answer. :3) ♥
