Because. They told me they'd never leave me. Then they pushed me to the dirt, walked away, and never came back (not literally but this means they left me). They said they'd never hurt me... it ended up me getting hit and punched and bitten and almost dying because she choked me (this actually happened)

While being aboy doesn't necacarily get you more faves, it generates more sympathy and more people would want to talk to you.
