It is Monday. I keep thinking about what that girl said. It's like there's a tape in my head that always rewinds to the same day. Her threatening voice, telling me to stay away from Ryan. As I walked up to my locker, Ryan showed up. "Hey Katie." "Hi." I murmered. I don't know if I can trust him. "What's wrong?" He was worried. "It's nothing." I faked a smile. "You can tell me anything." He frowned. "Well, I saw this girl the other day and she told me you are a player." I paused to see his reaction. He laughed. "Was her name Bree?" "Yea." I was confused. "She says that to everyone I date because I dumped her." He sighed. "Oh." I felt so relieved to know the truth. It felt like a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders. He pulled me into a small kiss. "I'd never hurt you." He sounded serious. "I believe you." I smiled.

It was lunch time and I told Lexi eveything Ryan said. "I'm so glad." Lexi grinned. "Yea." I giggled. I trust Ryan with all my heart. It was the end of the day and my mom picked me up as usual. "So, how was your day?" My mom asked. "Great." I smiled. She parked into our garage. "That's good to hear." I called Abbie and told her about Ryan. "Oh my gosh! That's great!" She was happy as much as I was. I'm just glad that all of the "Ryan" drama came to a stop.

"So, what do you wanna do?" Lexi sat on my bed. It was Saturday afternoon. Lexi and I were hanging out. "Let's go to the park." I grinned. "Sure." She grabbed her bag and headed downstairs. I followed. "Mom, we're going to the park." I shouted so she can hear. "Okay. Be back before dinner." She shouted back. The park was not far from my house so we can walk there. We both sat on the swings. My hair flowed through the wing as I swung. I watched as orange leaves fell from trees. I love the autumn. The swing slowly came to a stop. A girl headed towards me. "Hi Katie. I'm from your history class. I'm Bree." She tucked her bangs behind her ear. "Hey." I smiled. "I want you to stay away from Ryan." She blurted out. I was in complete shock. "Excuse me?" I was furious. "He's a player. Trust me. I dated him one." She looked at me straight in the eyes. I looked over at Lexi. She shruged. "You can't just walk up to someone and tell them to stay away from someone they like." Lexi was annoyed. "Fine. Don't believe me, but I warned you." She walked away. She was out of our sight. What was her problem? Why would she say that? So many question swarmed into my head. Was she telling the truth? No. Of course not. Ryan would never do that. Or would he? I don't know if I can trust anyone.

It was a few days after the "incident" happened. I forgot about it. Ryan and I've been close since then, but we aren't dating or anything. I picked out my outfit. A "Love" sleeve top with ripped skinny jeans. I put on a pair of grey, knee length boots. I added a flower headband as an accesory. It is chilly today so that's why I'm dressing warm. For the final touch, I braided my hair. It still smelled like pickles from my sub, even though I washed it three times yesterday. I looked at myself in the mirror. I actually felt pretty for once. I grabbed my bag and headed out.

I walked into my school. "Hey Katie." Ryan sneaked up from behind me. "Hey." I slighty smiled. "I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie tonight. I-I mean you don't have-" I cut him off. "I'd love to." I smiled. "Great. I'll pick you up at seven." He winked at me. He walked over to his friends. "Oh. My. Gosh. Ryan just asked you out." Lexi slightly raised her tone. "Shh. lower your voice." I giggled. I was still in shock. The most popular guy chose me over anyone else. "I'll help you pick out your clothes after school." Lexi sugested. "That would be great."

"Hmm. How about this top?" Lexi helped me pick out what I should wear. I sighed. "No. Too sparkly. I want something more casual." "How about these?" Lexi picked out an entire outfit for me. It was a lilac and pink floral tank with white skinny jeans paired with white flats and a key necklace. The outfit was completed with a bow bag. It was beauitful. "That's fantastic!" I was so amazed. "Let's get you ready." Lexi had an excited look on her face. She helped me do my eye makeup. I added on pink lip gloss and a rosy blush for my cheeks. She chose a light purple nail polish to match with my top. I put my hair into a messy, but cute bun. I'm ready for my date.

Ryan stood in front of my door. I was super nervous. "Hi. Wow. You look beautiful." He handed me a rose. I blushed. I smelled it. It had a beautiful fragrant scent to it. He lead me to his car. I was a short ride. We arrived at the movies. We got a medim sized bag of popcorn. We both agreed to watch a comedy. Ryan payed for the tickets and then we chose a seat to sit. We chose the one in the middle. The movie was about an hour and thirty minutes long. It was pretty funny. "That movie was great." I smiled. "Yea. It was funny." We walked back to his car. He drove me back to my house. "Bye Ryan." Before I opened the car door, he leaned in and kissed me. "See you on Monday." He drove off. I think I fallen in love.

I arrived at math class. We could choose our own seats. I sat next to Lexi. I couldn't stop thinking about Ryan. "Hello class. I'm Ms. Golds." She seemed like a nice teacher. She looked like she was in her mid twenties. She talked about algebra.

The day dragged on and it was lunch. Lexi and I sat at a table with a few other girls. I glanced over at the table in front of us. Rayn, Jessica, and a few others sat over there. That was probably the popular table. Rayn waved at me. I waved back. I wonder if he likes me. I went on line to get lunch. It took a few minutes for me to be first on line. I ordered a sub and water. I liked to eat healthy. As I walk towards my table, I noticed someone stuck their foot out. I also heard someone scream my name. I tripped and my face went straight into my sub. "Oops." Jessica sarcasticly said. My face turned bright red. I must've looked like a tomato. My thoughts were drowned in by laughter. I glanced around at the people at her table. Everyone was laughing except for Rayn. "Are you okay?" Rayn helped me up. My eyes were teary. I ran straight to the bathroom. Lexi followed. My life was ruiened. "Oh my gosh Katie. Are you okay?" Lexi frowned. "No." I hid my face into my hands. Katie helped me clean up. "Jessica is a total jerk." Katie sighed.
Ryan's POV
"Not cool Jess." I was disgusted. "Ryan." Jessica sighed. "That was rude." I hid my anger. "I can't believe you actually like her. She's ugly. I'm way prettier." She stuck her tougne out. How could she say that. I couldn't keep it in anymore. "She's beautiful! At least she's pretty on the inside!" I shouted. There was scilence.
Katie's POV
My mom picked me up early. I didn't say anything the entire ride. I called Abbie and told her everything. About Jessica tripping me, about my crush Ryan and about my new friend Lexi. Abbie listened the entire time. That's what I like about her. I can tell her anything. I can trust her.

After a few minutes, I finally decided what on to wear. Today, I was going to school. I wore a minty green, polka dotted top with white skinny jeans. I added on a girly scarf. I put my brunette hair into a high ponytail. I went downstairs and ate my pancakes with syrup. I gulped down my orange juice and placed the silverware and plate into the sink. I put on my gray converse and grabbed my floral backpack then headed out the door. My mom was driving me to school today. I felt nervous about taking the bus. The autumn leaves made a crunching sound as I stepped on them. Crunch, crunch, crunch. I headed towards the car. I sat down and a million thoughts raced through my head. Will I make any friends? Are the teachers nice? Will anyone like me? My mom inturrupted my thoughts as she started the engine. It didn't take that long to arrive. I stepped out of the car. "Have a nice day." My mom smiled. She took off. I stared at the school. In huge letters, it read: Willow Oak High School. "Hi. You must be new. I'm Lexi." A pretty girl with long, dyded, red hair appeared out of no where. "Hey. I'm Katie." I grinned. Her big, blue eyes shined in the sun like diamonds. We both walked into the school. I searched for my locker. My locker was right next to Lexi's. So far, this day is great. I placed my bag into it and my books. I took out my schedule. "Do you have any classes with me?" I asked Lexi. She took out hers. "Math, english and science." She smiled. "Ugh, losers." A girl with blonde, curly hair rolled her eyes. She walked past us. "Don't feel bad." Lexi explained, "She's Jessica. The popular girl. She does that to everyone except for the popular people." I tried to forget about her. First period was math. We both were walking to the math room. Suddenly, I bumped into someone. "I'm so sorry." I frowned. I gazed into his brown eyes. He had darkish brown hair. I helped him pick up his books. "It's okay." He handed me my math binder. "I'll see you in math class Katie." He smiled at me. He saw my name written on my binder. Lexi grinned at me. "What?" I blushed. "That's Ryan. He's captin of the football team."

"I'm going to miss you so much Katie." A tear fell from Abbie's eye. There I was with my parents. About to get into our car. "Me too." I hugged her. "Make sure to call me when you arrive at California." Her voice cracked. I slightly smiled, "I'll call you everyday." We hugged once again and I went into the car. We exchanged our goodbyes. I looked out of the window. I waved at her. Goodbye Abbie. Goodbye Arizona. I started to cry. I lived here since I was born. I lived here for sixteen years. I started to feel really tired. I fell asleep. It felt like it took forever to get there. We finally arrived at our new home. It was a big house. I opened the trunk of the car and got my luggage. I walked inside the house. I placed my bags down on the floor. "Do you like it?" My mom broke the scilence. "I guess." I mumbled. "Follow me." My mom walked up the stairs. "This will be your room." My dad pointed at a medium sized bedroom. There was a huge closet. This room was much bigger than my old one. I almost forgot. I took out my phone. I called Abbie. "Hey Katie!" She shouted with excitment. "Hi." I grinned. "Do you like your new house?" She sighed. "I guess it's nice." I admitted. It was getting dark. "I got to go eat dinner. Call me tommorow." She hung up. I'm not looking forward to tommorow. I go to school.

I don't want to leave my best friend Abbie. We were friends since first grade. I slowly got up and sat on my bed. I wiped the tears off with my sleeve. My mom knocked on my door. She let herself in. "Kaitlyn, are you okay?" I could tell she was concerned about me. "No, I'm not." I sighed. "You'll make plenty of friends in your new school." She slightly smiled. "But I'll never find anyone like Abbie." I slightly raised my voice. She sighed. "Pack your things into these boxes." She gave me a few big ones. She left the room. I grabbed my clothes and put them into the boxes. I put a lot of items in my room into the boxes. I placed the last thing into there which was a photo of me and Abbie. I looked around at my empty room. All that was left was my furniture. The walls were bare. I wish my dad could just find a job here. But not all dreams come true.
