Yeah, okay I get you're trying to help, and I even followed for support but spamming peoples quotes is a bit too much, I mean I go through my feed of quotes and your like all over the place. Juts make supportive quotes and gain followers gradually, not by posting every where, just some advice.(:
Hello LoZ is p. rad, man, so's gaming, but what exactly is a "real gamer girl"? Like are you being ironic because gamer girl is a horrible term or something?
Idk, man, I just get slightly irritated when people use the term "gamer girl". You never see people call guys gamer guys, and really somebody's gender has nothing to do with their interest in gaming, so I was like, "is she being ironic?" 'cause the term is kinda gross to me.
What's your favorite LoZ?
"Contradicting" implies that females shouldn't be in the gaming industry. 48% of gamers are female, so it's hardly a male-dominated market. Women playing video games should not be treated as a taboo thing. Video games aren't just for men, so we really shouldn't expect to be seen as a rarity. Using our gender in how we label ourselves is kind of degrading, and when men do it, it's downright oppressive. Like saying "you are a female so you do not belong in this industry", when really, we belong just as much as men.
Anyways, PH, ST, and TWW get way too much beef because of the cutesy style and cell-shaded graphics, so I'm glad it's somebody's favorite of the series. I liked the trilogy a lot, personally.
Those are all statistics, so none of the percentages apply to the reality of the situation its self. Although I do agree with you on the labeling part, in our generation (and most likely the rest of any) will be prone to the exact statement that men are more or less better then women, so what I do mean by a contradicting term; is that if you want to see it that way (girl gaming vs gamers) as an adjective, then you simply pick one that apply better to yourself. When I state 'real girl gamers' Im trying provide a point that there are girls out there better then the half naked teens holding a DS to represent girls that play video games.
Woah, hold on. You have no right to think you're better than somebody because you're more modest. I understand being slightly irritated because sometimes, very rarely, girls pretend to like video games for attention, but to dislike somebody because they're "half-naked" is juvenile. Even if they pretend, it's not really any of our business. This happens in the comic book world, too. Every time I say "I like comics" to a man, he will literally quiz me about them to see if I'm lying (which why would I lie about that?) while if a male did it, he'd just be like "oh, that's cool, man!"
Why don't statistics apply to reality? They are figures literally based on reality. They represent the truth that some females don't want to admit; we are not the minority. We are just treated like it. Maybe console gaming is different, but I have a friend who plays online (I steer clear of online gaming) who says that every time he plays a game of TF2, there's just as many girls as there are guys speaking on the voice-chat whateverthing. You are the first female gamer I've actually had a conversation with that is not offended by the term "gamer girl". We have no reason to say our gender beforehand, because it actually doesn't matter. If "gamer guy" was a thing, then yeah it'd be fine. "Gamer girl" implies that men are normal and women will never be accepted in the industry. Which is actually a really depressing thought.
Okay hear me out. I never stated the words 'I'm better then those girls half naked', and I never stated 'I dislike them for being half naked'. Do not try to put words into my mouth please. And quite frankly statistics verily rarely are even close to correct. It's something made to be a assurance. Also I have no idea what you mean by 'comic book world'. If you talking about collecting, or maybe going to a com for it? Either way I have never once even for a second thought as the term 'gamer girl' to be offensive. I also do not plan on changing it either, but since if you've noticed it' in my profile applying to myself alone; if you take offense, that's entirely your fault. See as no one made you read anything. Oh, and like I said, I don't hate those half naked 'gamers', but seriously their just posers (obviously) unless you'd like to tell me that all girl gamer (gamer girls) take off everything and cover themselves with the console of their xbox. I mean go to google image and search girls playing video games, or even gamer girl. You know what you'll see? A bunch of girls 'playing' video games either naked or very close to it. I'd like to end this what you consider an argument, or debate, right about now at the fact you should not get so upset over what I refer MYSELF to. Have a good one
1. Where is the base to your accusation that statistics are not correct? What proof do you have? That is literally the most inane argument I've ever heard. If you mean that women are still treated like the minority, then fine.
2. It is not my fault for being offended by an oppressive term, do not blame this on me. You would not blame a PoC if they got offended by a r//cist term, and you should not blame a feminist for being offended by a s//xist one.
3. I was not getting upset that you referred to yourself as a gamer girl, obviously. You were using the term in relation to other people. "to all the other gamer girls", is what you said. Why you think you're the one that can say whether or not a gamer is "real" because they like one series of games is beyond me. News flash, the gaming world isn't all glitter and attention. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've met a "fake" gamer girl. Because the count is literally at 0. And I'm actually very, very active in it.
4. "there are girls out there better than the half-naked teens", implying that somebody could be better than another person based on their level of morals. I did not put any words in your mouth, obviously. You can read what you said in your last comment. Do not try and dispute that. In most cases, when somebody says something like that, they're referring to themselves. My bad for using common logic.
There, end of debate. Passive aggressive farewell to you, too.
I do not care if you are a feminist no one said you had to apply anything to what you are. It's a word get over because I care less about how it offends some one I was not applying it to. Oh, and if you seriously think that's what I thought of the 'gaming world' then you don't know me. (Not that I want you too.) And if I DO NOT state I think I'm better then some one you DO NOT know what I'm applying. With the statistics, what is your proof they are correct? Did you do all polls, and percentages? No. So unless you have facts on what your saying (only the percentage part) I wont believe it. And no, pictures don't count. Also you make it quite obvious that you are upset because when I said goodbye in my last comment, you still commented back. So this is my last goodbye. If you comment back I will assume you want to continue this 'inane argument'. But I think it would be more mature of you to just not read the word gamer girl if it gets under your skin that much.
You can find the percentages here http://www.theesa.com/facts/pdfs/ESA_EF_2012.pdf
Do not whine that I'm replying again. It is common courtesy to answer another's questions. Just like it's common courtesy to say "bye" when somebody says goodbye to you first.
I think it's best you stop replying now. Usually when two people exchange goodbyes the discussion ceases. Do not try and turn this into a contest into who will stop replying first.
Good day.
My profile, I'll do what I want. Statistics are what they are in anyones opinion of them are, and if you mention contest I guess I lose for being the most obviously right. Now, since it's my profile and you apparently want to win feel free to comment whatever more nonsense you'd like to drag me to believe.
Hello, I know this is sort of spam and I apologize, but could to please follow this account? I'd like to try and get it out there, and let people know that this is to help them. If you don't then I understand. Thank you for your time. :-)
Oh. It was some big drama thing that happened last week. This user made a rude quote about another user, and long story short everyone turned on him for it and started petitioning to make him leave. It was pathetic >.<
He left for a couple days, and then he came back and made another quote. I'm not sure if he's gonna leave for good though.
And it is pretty harsh, but he was being a little crude too so no one was really innocent in the little fight.
